Simagic Alpha Ultimate vs Simucube 2 Pro-which is better

  • The Simagic Alpha Ultimate is beautiful surprise and is here to fight the king of the Direct Drive Wheelbases for years Sumucube 2. For now I can compare those two wheels in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and Automobilista 2 and the other titles like AC, rFactor, Race Room, Dirt Rally etc must be tested in the upcoming weeks but I believe the results will be the same.
    If those here are out of your budget, you can check the Moza R5 and Moza R9 videos and soon I will start testing the 15nm Camus wheelbase which is the most budget base with lots of power !

    Steliyan I got an alpha U and used your settings from the video you made. I loved your settings but the simagic software has changed so much. I noticed in your latest video of your rig breakdown you still use the alpha U. I would love an updated settings video of what you are using now. Even if it’s just 1 min showing your current settings I’m sure myself and many others would greatly appreciate your expertise!

    Hey pal, before I start I wanted to say that I really really enjoy your videos, you seems like a very humble and nice person, and your production quality is a top noch level. I got recently into the Sim world and I started with Thrustmaster T300rs and Next Level F-GT cockpit (no lite) and It has been amazing but i started to upgrade and I started with the pedals, I went for the simforge mark-1 and they are insanely good. Then i started looking for a new wheel and it has been incredibly difficult to decide what to go for as there are many options and they all sound great, some of them are out of stock (Fanatec). Anyway this video helped me decide what I want to go for and I know everyone would still vote for the Simucube as it is more proven, but I felt like I really like the Simagic eco system and their style, and so I just bought the alpha-U. I am still waiting to be delivered and I hope i made a good choice, but looking at your comparison it is minimal between the U and the Pro. I am looking to upgrade my cockpit but I cannot decide and I was hoping if you could give me your opinion on few brands, sorry to message you here but I wasnt sure how else to contact you.
    I am looking at Trak Racer TR120 or GT-Omega Prime RS9 . I would really appreciate your respond as you are a genuine person and I love to hear your thoughts.

      Hi Sam and tanks for the kind words buddy ❤️
      You will love the Simagic U and there ecosystem become my favorite lately for the prices and they are improving constantly! Top quality products and materials!
      For the rig I would suggest you to choose aluminum frame based rig no matter which one as there are many which offer more or less the same thing ! Them pros of the aluminum rigs are you can constantly add different frames later and they are cheap and can be found everywhere!
      Rigs like the Omega are hard for upgrade as you have god the bug of Simracing and you are going strong as I’ve see from your upgrades, you will definitely improve something later and will be much easier with aluminum frames rig !
      Have a great weekend Dam 🍻

      I got my alpha mini 2 months ago and was very frustrated trying to setup the FFB in iracing. After so much messing around I settled on the following. Smooth lvl 2, Wheel return speed 100, Vehicle suspension 4, Mechanical damper 10, Interpolation 3. everything else at 0. In the advanced settings I left everything at default. Hope it saves you weeks of messing around as I had to do.

    Something nobody talks about is. Simagic is using a very high end 5 pole motor. Not 15 or 18 like fanatec or moza. So it's much faster which is why you felt them being similar with simicube/simagic. Also simagics processor is 40000hz. Yes 40k not 4k, 40k. Peoppe only pay attention to encoders which brw sinagic uses multiple encoders not 1. So yes simucubes encoders is better but it's not using multiple processing information at the same time. That's where simagic makes up for it. If you actually read and look into the paper more it's not as big of a difference as expected and they make up for it. There is a reason why drifters lover simagic it's the speed. The wheel is just faster and the response is. It is the best base ive ever used at letting you know where the limits of grip are at and then snapping when yoy go over it. You can make mistakes and it helps you out. It's so fast and snaps right back boom instantaneously. It's so so responsive and the delivery is so quick and fast. People only talk about details those people usually mean vibrations but what they don't realize is details is also the limits it's not just about vibrations or bumps it's anout everything else. What's funny is bumps don't matter as much as understanding grip so you choose what you want more? The one that improves laps or the one that you feel that doesn't do much? Point is thus one does it all and does it all good and naturally with incredible smoothness. Like peoppe don't talk about the smoothness enough it's simucube smooth like for real and thats bevause it's also using a 5 pole motor. It's anout rhe fastest sim racing dd motors you can get and when it's double winded it makes them even faster which both simucube and simagic are. There is a reason why simagic made simucube take notice. They even mentioned simagic and then stating that it's why they need to stay on top of there game. This was in there forums btw. So yeah the only person who has ever stated somagic is lacking is someone names will from boosted media. But people need to realize he had a falling out with 1 employee due to his friend and he sure let it get to him. Also he sucks with the settings it's almost stock when I saw his 2 latest videos he isnt even adjusting for the latest software and he doesn't even hsve v3s so please if you take these into consideration watch and listen to everyone. As 99% all say the same thing. Simucube level with only 1 guy who was mad at them stating different.

    I have been using a DD1 for the last couple of years and I am now thinking about going to either the SC2 pro or the Simagic Ultimate. Now that you had the unit for a bit more time what would you choose? The Simagic appears to be cheaper (especially the wheels) but I am worried about long term after sales support.

      Hey buddy, the support is good as long as you take it from official reseller as Simagic fully support those products!

    I'm worried about the Fanatec release of the QR2, if each rim needs a $150+ new QR2 and the shaft for my DD2 being replaced must be at least $200+, I'm very tempted to swap over to the SC2 Pro.
    Do you think it's worth losing quite a bit of money to make the switch from Fanatec to Simucube? My main worry originally was how expensive the rims are vs Fanatec, I mainly use the F1 rim 95% of the time.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  Год назад +1

      For me personally worth the switch to SC2 and I have read mostly positive comments from people who make that transition from Fanatec to SC but there were also people who didn’t felt huge difference , so that will be answered only from you personally and your own expectations buddy!
      That being said, you can concentrate your Fanatec formula wheel for Simucube with the kit from Simracing Machine but you will lose the dual shifter and can use the those two pedals only as separate inputs as throttle or clutch or buttons but not as dual clutch system!
      It will be up to you to risk and see if worth the switch mate !

    • @Hendrycks
      @Hendrycks Год назад +1

      @Race Beyond Matter thanks! I'll wait for the QR2 release and if it's insanely priced I'll swap over. For me Fanatec is great for my skill level but they don't have anything higher priced that I can save and aspire to you know?
      The BMW and Bentley rims coming are cool but with Simucube and others I can aspire to eventually getting a GSI, Cube Controls, etc and no way am I buying those rims for Fanatec and paying a $200+ "tax" for a Podium Hub so that I can use it on Fanatec gear. There's no podium level and up pedals, the V3s are already the best they have, etc.

      However, if 15nm is enough is only up to you but if I talk about me personally, I use some new sew settings in which I keep the Alpha U at 50% strength from the Simagic software and then push the feedback strength higher in the sim which for some reason boost the small effect and make the base bit more alive when the feedback is close to clipping.
      I really use more than 12nm for everyday driving as anything above that puts me in fight with the wheel.
