To answer your question, this was an instagram challenge. She asked fans to choose a song and this was the pick. She spent a few hours learning it and did a few takes before she was happy with it. That YES at the end just says it all.

If I remember correctly, this was a TikTok challenge, or Instagram. She took I believe 4 hours to figure out how to play it and vocalize it. This is what came out of it.
Pau is a once in a lifetime talent, with the unique ability to bring grown men to tears! Drummer, Vocalist, Songwriter and Producer, and only 22 years old!
What else can be said?
A perfect reaction to a perfect performance. Pau's singer/songwriter talented self on full display. Here she is, "the drummer", singing in her second language and melting hearts and moving souls. I have no idea how many times I've seen this. Dozens and dozens. It always moves me. The talent of the Villareal sisters will become legendary.
Just Pau, a (famously slightly out of tune) piano, and something to record. That's all that's needed to make you feel some pretty incredible emotions. I don't know how she does it, but Pau has that rare ability to just go right through you when she sings. What a talent!
That piano is perfectly in tune. It's all the others that are slightly off. 🧐

A girl, A piano and an IG challenge. She went from hearing the song, composing a piano line and recording it in about 4 hrs. This is the result. She knew she nailed it at the end.
Pau is all emotion, nothing forced. Her rawness and vocal integrity need no enhancement or control. She is special and always makes me cry. I'm 66 years old and not ashamed to do so. Cheers, Rich

At their concert in Mexico City this past October, the sound board was playing a nice playlist for all the fans in the audience before the opening band started playing. Radiohead's version of Creep came over the PA and a huge portion of the audience stopped their conversations and started singing along. When the song ended, there was a little cheer, then everyone got back to chatting and waiting for the show. It was a lovely little spontaneous moment that clearly now has a connection to the band with this version by Pau.

Just one of the amazing things these young ladies did for their fans during the lock down. She just got on instrgram and said what shall I sing. She learnt it in 4 hours and that is the famous slightly out of tune piano in the house that Breathe was also recorded on.
She took 4 takes before she was happy, she did it for the Warning Army who chose the song
They all are classically trained and play piano. These young ladies are the real deal.

This is special on so many levels. It's like her recording of *Breathe* - raw, piano out of tune, black-and-white, solo performance, informal setting, low key, WHAM! It's so real, it's so raw, it's perfect. First time I heard it, it broke me. Pau is an emotive empath, able to channel the real meaning and feeling in a song whether it's hers or not. That's genius at work. "YES!!!" says it all: "Nailed it."
Hi Red, absolutely love your Warning reactions. Hope I get this right. A little background, this was an Instagram challenge, she listed a couple of songs and let TWA choose what song she would learn and post in three hours. Pau chose this song and it is simply remarkable. She is playing at home on their slightly out of tune piano (where she writes a lot of their songs) and in true Pau fashion just exudes her passion and love of music, she is so multi-talented, as all the Ladies are, all these girls are a breath of fresh air to the music industry... their greatness is only just beginning. saw them live in Toronto Aug 13/23 and even though it was a smaller venue - something they'll soon have to leave behind for much larger venues - they rocked us all hard and left everything on the stage. In fact, when they did their customary lay down on the stage facing the back of the stage so Rudy, their manager, could take the traditional picture of them with the audience behind them, Ale had to help Dani up off the floor, she literally gave it all. Got me some very treasured merch too, including a very yellow tuque with their logo on it. Oh, yeah, tuque is a Canadian thing. It's our name for what I think you call a beanie.
It was Pau that picked her up.

I'm glad you mentioned "THE BEATLES" because for me, it has taken this long to bring a group as talented as The Beatles who took music different levels as only they could. The Warning is at another level with talent, presence, flamboyance, connection and beauty.

You didn't know that Pau plays the piano? This is where most of their songs start, before Pau brings them to her sisters and turns them into the bangers we end up hearing on the albums. Not all her songs get that treatment though, there are a few that stay on piano, like Breathe and Black Holes.
I'd personally love to see an album of their songs converted back to their original piano style, but with all the extra bits and bridges that were added on that became the finished song. Or even just some early Pau piano demo recordings would be sweet.

Great reaction. Dany, Pau, and Ale are all classically trained pianists. There are some cute videos of them playing piano when they were little. They all still play piano. According to them, Ale is the best pianist between them. Most Warning songs start with Pau on the piano. Also, watch Black Holes at the Dakota Bar which Pau wrote when she was 13.

I have watched this performance many times, every time, it sends chills down my spine and a tear to my eyes. So much passion. So much power. So much raw emotion pouring out of her in every note. Absolutely one of the best versions of this song that I have ever heard, and I have heard many.
She sings this song with so much emotion, almost in tears when I hear this.

I"ve said this in many comments, I had heard this song countless times performed by many different artists, but the lyrics didn't hit me until this version. Pau can have you chopping onions before you know whats happening.

Pau is the creative mind of the band. All three took piano lessons when they were 5 years old. Typically a song starts as a ballad composed by Pau on the piano. The three of them then turn it into a rock number.
Fun Fact: Ale and Dany also play the saxophone. Their school orchestra was a brass band and they had to learn a new instrument. Pau was lazy and went into the percussion part.
Red, I love seeing your excitement when reacting to The Warning. Between the 3 sisters and Angelina Jordan, I feel like a teen again, anticipating incredible new music on a steady basis. I am confident both artists will provide new music for the reminder of my life and maybe if I am very lucky, I will get to hear what they sound like when they turn 50.

This was a pleasant surprise! I'm not at all familiar with this artist. This performance (like you mentioned) is raw and natural. Unedited, no pitch correction, no (or very minimal) post. Hearing minor 'imperfections' makes a performance even better, in my opinion! I have to keep my #1 version of Creep with Haley Reinhart and Post Modern Jukebox... but this is outstanding! She gets my #2 spot! She bumped a LOT of others down a peg.

Hey Red! Pau is so very Special!!! This was an Instagram Challenge, to learn a song and record it the same day for the fans. So, the fans had a poll and picked Creep. From what I understand, this was her fourth take to get the recording right. She spent all day learning the song, then recorded this in the afternoon. Amazing!

Pau may very well be (or certainly will be) the greatest drummer in the galaxy but her true talent is singing at the piano. From the title track of their debut EP right up to ‘Breathe’ at the Pepsi Center (and basically the creation of every TW song in between) literally every time she touches a piano it’s magic. (She has made enough grown men cry to fill a small stadium)
So look up ‘Escape the Mind’, ‘Show Me the Light’, ‘Black Holes’, ‘Breathe’. I’ll pull some links if you want.
& I can’t leave without mentioning Dany’s similar gift. Hers is the acoustic guitar. Just Dany, her voice, her guitar and her heart shines brighter that the sun 😊. Dany Day is certainly the best day!
