I get so confused by people sometimes. That post sounded like someone who wanted to save this creature. But at the same time instead of saying, I’ll have to give it to someone else or even leave it outside of a rescue, they go straight to “I’ll have to release it outdoors.” They’ve already stated they thought the guinea pig got attacked outside and then say they’re going to do the exact same thing. It comes off as very ingenuine and manipulative and I just don’t understand people.
Yeah I agree, too. It was a mixed message. Even keeping them safe somewhere too small for afew days would help this little one, but to say you would just dump them outdoors if no one comes is horrible. This piggy wouldn't survive much longer at all, it's a death sentence. Very manipulative, and many people can be. People do many things for the right reason, this is not one of them. Hope this squeakheart survives ❤.
To be clear this message was actually sent to a dedicated Guinea Pig Rescue and I picked him up on their behalf. I think it is even worse when you threaten a rescue group that puts their hearts on the line every day and have to deal with threats like this on a regular basis
Seems more like a case of someone who impulsively bought a piggy didn’t do any research on how to care for the animal and then when the animal is on deaths door decided to get rid of the animal. The story of being attacked is just a cover up for their neglect. The threat of tossing him outside just says everything.
Watching him stick his face in the food was so cute and made me chuckle. I Hope he pulls through ok. Thank you for taking him in, You do such great work with the piggies.
No expert, but I dont think the bath got him cold, but just he used up the last of his energy reserves in the struggling. I'm so glad he's perking up. Watching him 'self serve' really made me smile. What a little boss pig! I love when B.B. 'Supbirbvising' too.
Thank you so much for for saving him he was starving to death he’s so hungry he reminds me of my harley has short hair and almost the same colors , please keep him scotty your his Hero
After all that struggle during bath time, he must have used every bit of energy. It is possible that the bath made him too cold, but it's great to see he's in recovery! Poor little love is super thin, and I really hope that this doesn't have many long term affects. Thankyou, for being literally the best you can be. We know that he is in the best and kindest of hands ❤. We love you and this little one, too.

I saw the update video first and it gave me the courage to click and watch this video. That little guy is a trooper ❤ The move and then the bath probably stressed him out on top of getting cold and having sudden diet changes. So, I'm not surprised that he crashed after the bath. It's going to take him a while to gain the weight he should have. If he is willing to eat the critical care on his own, you can give him twice a day a small bowl and make it a bit more dense than what you put in the syringe, so he can eat it on his own. He needs all the nutrition and hydration he can get ❤ Fingers crossed that he keeps on recovering 🤞
You're doing amazing things, Scott! I want to personally thank you for always caring for animals. As a Christian, I believe that one of the reasons God designed us was to take care of His beautiful Creation. It's what I would normally do but he seemed so strong and he smelled so incredibly bad. Not just smelly but fungus and mildew. But I shared that so we will all think twice next time
How about Helios as he has brought Sunshine to so many people today. It looked like a mini seizure, possibly check for mites in his ear or neck. 25 years at a rescue and that rhythmic dipping of his head just reached in and crushed my heart. Have seen it many times. You are doing great Scotty.❤
It didn’t seem like he'd been attacked by an animal! Obviously, he was in a horrible situation, though. He's sooo sweet and what a character. When he's back to full strength, I reckon he's going to be a real mischievous explorer. 😂 💙💜💙
Yes but ironically the fact that they said he was attacked and also the threat of letting him go outside was what motivated me to pick him up. The family had no idea he was starving and near death
Adorable piggie with loads of character. The fine grind papaya is a favourite of my piggies when they are sick. I sadly lost my ‘potato’ to a tumour on Monday, RIP baby we miss you.
Sometimes when people go through survival situations, their body uses a lot of energy to keep the brain at max alert, and then once they realize they are safe they will immediately collapse. Maybe he had that moment once you started blow drying him (warm air is very soothing too). He did put a lot of energy into struggling during that bath as well, poor thing must've been so exhausted but wouldn't show it. He needed all of that rest and nutrition so badly, but being so skinny it just takes so much longer to get it all back.
I love abyssinian guinea-pigs and his coat is gorgeous. Reminds me of our little guy someone found walking along the road in the winter, whiskers all worn down and his back bone sticking up. We had him for about another 5 years and called him Ragamuffin.
His stomach will have shrunk a bit, but he's got a great appetite and he's a little fighter. The starvation was probably making him wobbly. I think everyone seeing this video has well and truly fallen for this little charmer. He's your piggy for life now 😂😂👍🐹 I'm so happy to see him on the mend.

Your little fighter remidns me of Muhammad Ali...just never gave up. You should consider Mo or Ali.😊 Keep doing the awesome work Scotty! Bless this little guy!!!

Scotty, thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. You have taught everyone watching, to feed first, bathe later. I would've done exactly what you did, clean him up first, but it was obviously just exhausting for him. Thank you again for being an angel. ❤ He should be named miracle. ❤
Just happened upon (and now subscribed) to your channel. Thank you for saving this little guy! I have 2 Guinea pigs and a house bunny. This too has happened to one of my piggers. She got so stressed out, and even in her healthy state, laid into the bottom of the sink, in her warm bath, stressed and I thought she had died :( She was fine a few hours later and was running around chasing her baby piggy. You did exactly as you should've, kept him warm and quiet and gave him warm food to boost his stamina. Resilient, but gentle, sweet critters they are. Bless you for being a "keeper of the critters" and giving this little guy another chance at life.

I wrote a long coment, but the ads cut me off! Bless your heart and his. I think that he used his last energy reserves to fight the necessary bathing 🫂 I wish that the people that found themselves suddenly having a guinea pig had done some research on care 😢He has fight 💖 Thank you Scotty ❤
Poor baby! This is heartbreaking. Do you think he was just really dehydrated or electrolyte deficient? I had that happen to me--I had to be wheeled into the ER and was able to walk out on my own after a liter of Lactated Ringers and a potassium supplement (thankfully, I worked in the lab at the hospital so I was one floor above the ER.) Thanks for rescuing him, Scotty! I'm so glad he is doing better💜

Two of mine were that skinny when I got them. I could feel their back bones and every rib. At first the didn't eat much. I've had them around 4 months and they are fat and happy now!
We took one in dirty , and so skinny and we fought for him he ate hay veggies pellets but in the end he all of a sudden passed. We only had Teddy for 4 mos. Apparently he was bought and the teenage daughter just cared more about other things. Starved and left to rot the mom reached out to a friend of mine and we took him. I have had my piggies make it to 7 years old and least was 6 years. I have 2 piggies now,1 we bought ,and 1 we saved with a rabbit we rescued and 2 rescue doggies. If I had room and owned my place I'd have more dogs, more piggies, and rescue many for good homes.

Best 40 minutes I’ve spent on the internet in a long while. What a transformation from that skinny, helpless little guy to a strong, hungry recovered piggie. Good work Scott, you’re one in a million. 😀🐾
That was so scary there for a minute. I realize that was a lot longer for you than what you showed us, and I’m so sorry your heart went through that. 😢
I wish I was close enough to adopt this handsome man myself. Hes in great hands Im so glad that you take the time and gas money and effort to go save these piggies. Theres no way he would have lasted another week of being fed just lettuce. I hope he enjoys the rest of his pampered piggie life and that he finds a forever home where he can have a friend too ~~

PLEASE keep us updated on his recovery! Love and prayers from Odessa, Texas ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so so so much for saving this sweet boy. I know all of them can’t be saved, but knowing there’s genuinely so many kind hearted people like you out there warms my heart. I can’t donate this week but I will definitely try to. No life form deserves to just be tossed out like trash just because they’re unwell. I hope he heals wonderfully
Scotty, you are amazing!!! That lil boy is so lucky to have you. It is truly amazing what you do for all piggies. I am so glad to see him doing so much better. ❤️ You are a miracle worker, a hero in my book. What a sweet lil boy.
You should give him a name like Jericho, a meaning of strength and resilience. Good job rescuing him. He is adorable, and he is in the best hands he could possibly be. I hope he makes it.
Just now seeing this video! Not sure how I missed it. I’m so glad you were able to take him cause there’s no way he would survive! You did great with him ❤
Sorry Scotty, I have to send you my hospital bill, because you just melted my heart! ❤ Thank you so much for saving this cute little guy, I'm "afraid" we're in for a serious case of foster fail, no way that you let him go, he's already so attached to you and vice versa, but that's more than OK 😉
Based on how emaciated he is and the way he acted, I don't think it was the bath itself, but all of the energy he exerted....which made his blood sugar drop even more....that would've caused the droops, lethargy, etc and why he recovered when he started getting food.
OMG......Scotty. 😢 I am beyond upset! SIGH! I cannot stand people that are so cruel. But having said that, I do thank them for putting him on the doorstep and the one person for rescuing him. ❤ And of course Scotty, thank YOU! 😢
Yes I had mixed emotions because the family meant well, and yet at the same time threatened the rescue with an ultimatum, and they saved his life for sure, and yet somehow we're unable to find proper information about guinea pig care. Even the simplest information about feeding hay. I am also to blame for not having my information easier to find. I'm going to have to figure out ways to make it more accessible

Gosh when I saw his little body I cried. Truly, thank you for everything you do for piggies.
I hope he enjoys the rest of his pampered piggie life and that he finds a forever home where he can have a friend too ~~
Remo: A Greek name that translates to "the strong one" because he has been through so very much and has proven to be tough, strong and a fighter!! Praying he completely overcomes his tragic past and we can all celebrate his wonderful future!!! Thank you for going and saving him!!!! He’s gorgeous now that he’s clean!!! PLEASE keep us updated on his recovery! Love and prayers from Odessa, Texas ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Looks like a 'Spark' to me. Hope he's continuing to get better
YOU have to keep him, PLEASE!!!!!! ❤
I told Scott he can’t get attached 😂
@@SoCalGuineaPigRescue
Yes, because that works every time😂!!
@@SoCalGuineaPigRescue I think it may be too late. I think that Scotty has already gotten attached.
He will!@@SoCalGuineaPigRescue
I think you’re attached Mary! I’m so proud you only have two guinea pigs Mary. You love every piggy you see 😂😂❤
So cute and precious. His coloring is pretty. I think wolfy would be a cute name for him. Because of his coloring and his personality. ❤
Scotty, you are amazing!!! That lil boy is so lucky to have you. It is truly amazing what you do for all piggies. I am so glad to see him doing so much better. ❤️ You are a miracle worker, a hero in my book. What a sweet lil boy.
Thank you Jen. I'm grateful for your support
You should give him a name like Jericho, a meaning of strength and resilience. Good job rescuing him. He is adorable, and he is in the best hands he could possibly be. I hope he makes it.
thankyou for what you do 🐾🌺
I wonder if he went into shock after the bath. So great that he's doing so well and is a fighter! Bless you Scotty for rescuing this little guy.
That's what it seemed like to me too. Going into shock feels cold and exhausted. And getting some glucose helps, or critical care in this case.
@@sarahstardust my thoughts exactly!
I wish the world was filled with good guys like you
Thank god for you, scotty, no telling what this poor little guy has went through
Well done scotty thank you so much for saving him ❤
Thank you Zoe ♥️
Just now seeing this video! Not sure how I missed it. I’m so glad you were able to take him cause there’s no way he would survive! You did great with him ❤
Sorry Scotty, I have to send you my hospital bill, because you just melted my heart! ❤
Thank you so much for saving this cute little guy, I'm "afraid" we're in for a serious case of foster fail, no way that you let him go, he's already so attached to you and vice versa, but that's more than OK 😉
Please keep him with you ….you the best Scotty❤he looks like a Woody
Thank you so much for saving this angel.
Based on how emaciated he is and the way he acted, I don't think it was the bath itself, but all of the energy he exerted....which made his blood sugar drop even more....that would've caused the droops, lethargy, etc and why he recovered when he started getting food.
Thanks! He says his name is Maverick 🥰
Thank you so much Kimberly
❤
And....he's a keeper ❤❤❤
Scotty I gotta say I feared this darling would not survive the bath. Thank you the TLC you provided AND the critical care! He’s really perked up 💙💙💙
OMG......Scotty.
Oh Scotty, please please keep us informed! Right now we have a hurricane on our doorstep! I am now in LOVE with two rescues! Bunson and this one!
@@maryamullins4332Isn't there a third? Checkers?
@@AlysonMcNulty Not that I know of. This was just a single rescue.
@@AlysonMcNulty I am so blasted in love with Bunson. He is with Annie right now. And now I am also in LOVE with this new one. Alyson, it just absolutely stabs me in the heart when there are rescues like this one and Bunson's rescue.
Rocky like rocky balboa! I think the little darling just used all his last reserves fighting and then his body was like nope - were resting end of. Lol i like Rocky Goober 😂
Or Goobster!
Hi Scotty ... Gunther is a cute name ❤❤ He's so so cute!!! He's such a precious little sweetie!!! Thank you Scotty, loved your video!!!! ❤❤❤
He's a fighter. So cute. I pray he'll be able to recover and be a welcome member of the herd.
Such a sweet little boy! Hopefully he is just so tired out from everything he has been through. Giving him the bath will make him feel so much better. He looks like a little Skipper to me. Scotty you are such a caring person Thank You for helping him!
He's sooooo sweeeeet 😊😊😊
Titan is a nice for him🤗
Aw bb is helping 😂❤
Thank you Scotty for all you do!
My word! Thank you so much Margaret ❤️❤️❤️
@@ScottysAnimals You are more than welcome. My husband and I have 2 boars and 2 sows. They are not together.😉 We love them so much! All of them have been adopted. Thank you for all of the knowledge you have given me for my piggies. Your new little piggy is so lucky to have you .
