- Hey guys, here's a bit of a different video for a change. A small Datapack spotlight for Towns & Towers! It overhauls both Villages and Pillager Outposts, adding more variation which I love. There's a few additional structures included too.

Hey I'm one of the guys who worked on T&T. Thank you for covering our pack! It means the world to us, and I'm really excited that more and more people find about it. I'm a bit sad that you didn't like the badlands village though, but that's alright! There are plenty more to discover :). We have many plans for the future of the pack, such as pairing it with other mods like BYG or Bop the same way we did with Terralith, adding advancements and more, along with many new and exciting structures, so stay tuned! I also hope you don't mind if I include this video on the PMC page for Towns and Towers :)

@@Djibew Unfortunately, from what I see, that mod is stuck in 1.16.5. Towns and Towers uses many blocks that were added in 1.17, such as deepslate, so I'm afraid that is not currently possible
@@AndrewMcDreamy If you are asking if T&T is compatible with Biomes O' Plenty, then yes, but keep in mind that for now our structures will only spawn in vanilla biomes. As mentioned, we have plans to pair T&T with other worldgen mods the same way we did with Terralith, and make the villages and outposts also spawn in the new modded biomes. As for the mod status, we are planning on making T&T both a fabric and forge mod in the future for better incorporation into modpacks and ease of use, so keep an eye out.

I love the message at the end. That's one of the things many people don't understand about minecraft, but minecraft is a game anyone can enjoy, except fools.
I feel like Minecraft needs two huge updates but they should definitely be separate. 1 is an over all structure over hall for all structures in the game. This would take a very long time so it would almost definitely have to be across multiple updates. The 2nd one is a massive overhaul of all the biomes. Not really talking about generation since we just got that and I think that it’s great but just the kinda of things that you see in biomes. There should be more stuff exclusive to biomes so that you have a reason to get that “Adventure Time” achievement other than just to have it. Maybe they could do an update at a time where they update a specific structure along side a biome and then for stuff like the outposts they just touch them as they go. For example they could add another cave biome (the cave biomes are good so I think it’d be a good idea to add another one) and with said cave biome they could update the stronghold to make it more interesting like the ones seen in multiple mods.
they'll split that into several updates, where they take a biome, update it, give or upgrade the existing structures in it, and try to give you incentive to go there
Your videos are inspiring me to return into minecraft...always loved the game since i was a lil kid,and all these new features and mods make the game feel new again

I've been looking for something like this for awhile, and was even starting to try and make something like this my self. (I still might) but for now, I'm happy. Curious to see what kind of new stuff the dev ads when 1.19 drops. Thanks for sharing this!

i still think the biggest place where Minecraft falls short is lack of overworld structures. there should honestly be a whole update dedicated to just adding hundreds of structures.
Personally, I think that would add a bit too much and be a bit overwhelming for a lot of players. The current "blandness" of worlds is what makes modding so significant to the game. If it had what mods and datapacks add in already, it would kinda remove the reason for a lot of them. Plus, they're more customizable and expandable than the base game itself, given you can just add on to them; can't exactly do that to the base game without using mods or datapacks. It's clear though that Mojang does want to add more for structures, since they've added new ones and changed up old ones in recent updates. It's probably hard for them to come up with something new as well that isn't super similar to a mod that already exists. Excuse my rant lol

ive been thinking they could add a mechanic that allows me to add my structures from creative and set them up to spawn naturally in my survival world. i know there are mods that do that already, but i would appreciate something like that in the vanilla game.
Exactly, keep it bland so users can expand it.
I'm pretty sure that's possible already with structure blocks and the capabilities they have. Datapacks are capable of that as well, and from what I know of, it's not hard to do. They're significantly easier than mods in some ways. There's plenty of tutorials for each out there.

I would love to more showcase videos, if you can! You show us so many cool datapacks and mods, but don't have enough time to go really in depth with them.
My biggest question about any overhaul mod like this is always the same: Does it change the game so that when I defeat the pillagers in a pillager tower they stay defeated, instead of infinitely respawning?
Nah just think of it as reinforcements keep arriving from the pillager camp

Seriously. Terralith terrain generation + Towns and Towers take two seconds to add with no mod loader and they both work flawlessly.

Hey, I have a problem with the datapack. In online vanilla I can find this pack’s structures but with the terralith mod or datapack I can’t. In addition I hardly found two vanilla structures and other structure mods, I explored a lot in creative mode, i dont think this is normal. Can someone help me pls?
Both are 1.18.2 versions and I play 1.18.2

Villages won't be updated for a long while. They've been reworked in 1.14, so Mojang will update things like the end and other things before they focus on villages again, which is sad. But fortunately we have modders.

There's also TekTopia. Which I feel REALLY needs to be updated to the latest version. But unfortunately I don't think Tango has any plans to update it to the latest version. Not anytime soon at least.
wish there were more building variants per biome category .. but otherwise it's very pretty

I imagine it does but at worst case scenario will only spawn them in the vanilla biomes. That's not too big of an issue though as vanila and biomes o plenty tend to mesh well with a good mix of the two types
As @@Daark_Karma said, T&T is compatible with BoP, but at the moment our structures will only spawn in vanilla biomes. This will change in the next updates

Kinda. For 1.17 Kubek made the Structure Engine, a pack which incorporated a bunch of add-ons for another pack and made them spawn without modifying the biomes. Originally Towns and Towers was just a bunch of add-ons too, but later formed into what we have today. Maybe that's what you are referring to?
@@biban_auriu7849 Oh, they weren't the same structures, that's for sure. All I clearly remember was that the acacia village had many open structures that didn't have doors and windows.

The only thing that makes me sad is that this datapack is 1.18.2 ONLY. No other versions supported. Which is weird for a datapack; they usually work cross-version, so i won't be able to use it on my 1.16.5 modpack/world, unfortunately :c
