What is NFT? How has it changed the way people buy and sell digital art? How to avoid paying huge gas fees and mint your NFTs for free?
Non-fungible tokens or NFTs are cryptographic assets on a blockchain with unique identification codes and metadata that distinguish them from each other.
I’d say NFT is a form of a digital protocol that provides a digital proof of ownership and uniqueness of any digital asset (photo, video, music, gif, event ticket, club membership etc.) and can be registered or minted, sold, purchased and tracked on a blockchain. In the future NFTs together with smart contracts might be used to sell and buy real estate, register a wedding or certify an inheritance procedure.
I started researching on NFT’s earlier this year and minted my 1st NFT (one of the photos i took) in Fabruary on Rarible.com marketplace for a modest fee. Nowadays if you try to create/mint an NFT on major market places you might end up paying quite a bit in gas fees, which might create a barrier to entry for some users.
After some research I came across a project that promises to let any digital creator mint their NFT’s for free. Sieella.com features a new NFT marketplace currently developed on Ethereum blockchain. The social mission of the project is inclusion and support of artists from a socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
Being currently in development, the project aims to develop its own token - Sieella token and its own marketplace where anyone could participate in the NFT development regardless of their starting capital size. Sieella token should be available for exchange on Uniswap DEX . For full information, please check Sieella.com.
