You are welcome, Ted. This trip was the one main thing I did this year that wasn't filled with drama or bad vibes. I can't describe enough what this trip did for me this year. Had I not gone on this trip, I would probably be in a much different mental state. Thanks for watching and leaving comments.
No one does it better. This series quickly became one of my favorites. Big thanks also to Marty, Vince and Anthony. What a great group of guys to share a vacation with. Thank you Sean. I did not miss a minute of any of the episodes. I may watch a few of them over like I did with the first series. I feel as though I know more about Japan than I did before. Congratulations on another masterpiece series well done~ Rob/Boston
Thank you for being so supportive over the past several years. I sincerely appreciate that, Rob. Hopefully someday you will be able to go to Japan someday. I look forward to another return at some point in my life.
Thank you. Editing this series got me through a LOT and kept my mind busy so I could not think about some of the heavy things that were going on in my life during the editing phase. Luckily, as of yesterday, things are MUCH, MUCH better with a brand new vision on the future.
Thoroughly enjoyed the series, sad to see it and the journey come to an end. On a side note, the rollercoaster that appears at 11:50, I believe is the same one that appears in a 2007 movie Adrift in Tokyo? Not the greatest movie but a curious one. Anyhow, you mentioned that if you did any future trips to Japan, it wouldn't be one centred around parks, if so, would you still create a series out of it? Does filming these videos take you out of the moment, like there is pressure to capture content from each day? I myself hope to make a fourth one to Japan in the not too distant future. Thanks for the video series!
I am not familiar with Adrift in Tokyo. I will have to check out that scene to see the coaster. I am not sure if another series would be created if I went back to Japan, I am always going to be documenting my trips with pictures and videos but as far the vlog style goes, I think I am finished with that. One of the main reasons I decided to leave all my camera gear at home and only use my iPhone for this trip was so I could enjoy more of the trip. When carrying around lots of gear, I have to spend more time recording and setting things up. By using my phone only, I was able to just turn it on and start recording immediately and take in more of the moment. Having said that, I mad many issues with my phone on this trip. I edited those moments out of the series because they were usually small clips of me cussing because the phone wasn't doing what it was supposed to. I don't know if it was because of the heat or what but my phone would constantly just shut off or stop recording video without warning. I had to re-record my review of Eejanika as when I first recorded it, the video didn't save properly and all I was left was a black video and no sound. Stuff like that really made me angry. Yet, as soon as I got out of Japan, my phone didn't have the same issues.
Great video and conclusion to the series! I really enjoyed watching this series! What you said made me wonder what you'd do if you went to Japan again. Go to museums and cultural attractions ? Ive looked into going to Japan someday in the past and to stay there for 4 days and 5 nights looked like it would cost me $4 or $4.5 thousand coming from Ohio with travel insurance which seems more expensive than i would have thought. Ive looked into going to Europe before too and it costs similar to that with that lengh of stay. I doubt id be able to afford it or even have the time to take a week and a half off work to do it and wouldn't be able to do it until after i retire at 70 or semi retire and work part time past 70. Sweden and Norway are 2 of the other countries id like to visit the most. Maybe Finland. Those European countries have nice museums id like to see. I only make $20,000 a year so itll be hard for me to go there until i retire or have the time off work to. That cat cafe was definitely interesting. The picture of you with the cats was nice. It made me think of the TV show Impractical jokers because Sal Valcano on there doesnt like cats and how he would act there 😅. I love watching these kinds of videos and living vicariously through you all. Japan is definitely an interesting country. Id like to visit Nagashima Spa Land and Fuji Q Highland there more than anywhere else. Im thinking id like to go to each maybe 2 days a piece. Id love to ride the wooden coaster Jupiter there but its so far away from anything else. Id love to ride the coaster Big Boom too but i dont know if its not to far away or not. Id love to ride the Osaka oval Ferris wheel. Hiroshima would be nice to go to but its a little out of the way from those 2 parks too. Its great to see you all had a good time on the trip.
Thank you, Michael! When I do get back to Japan, I want to spend a lot of time just walking around and taking in sites I haven't yet. My buddy Jeff and I both talked about doing an event where we just concentrate on riding on trains. No parks (maybe one or two) but just spend a week or two riding. I can't remember the full cost of this trip but since everything was split four ways, I think it ended up being close to $3500, with airfare. The airfare, at least for me, was the most expensive part of the trip. I have never opted for travel insurance so I am not aware of how expensive it is. Europe is fun too. I have been twice and need to go back. Last time I was there was in 2007. I remember that Impratical Jokers episode where they put Sal in clear box with kittens. He freaked out. Both Fuji-Q and Nagashima are both decent parks. The operations at Nagashima can test your penitence though. If you go during the right time of the year, you could easily do both parks with a single day visit at each, depending now what you like. We had originally planned for two days at both of those parks but changed it after visiting just one day. Jupiter was a very rough ride in 2005. Marty woke up pretty sore the morning after he rode it on this trip. Big Boom at Nasu Highland is a fun ride, but not worth the long trip to ride it alone. The park is worth a visit but it can be a chore to get there.
@SeanFlaharty Thanks! I forgot to say before, I've watched both of your live streams on Coaster Hour before. I watch his live streams a lot now and went back and watched a lot of the older ones including the 2 you were on. The number one thing I remember is you being asked if you were stung by a bee on a coaster and you said twice. I don't remember anyone else ever saying they have been on the stream before. They don't hardly ever ask anybody that question anymore though. That's not too expensive at all for a trip like that! I'd imagine the sharing hotel and motel rooms saves a lot of money. Ive been looking into travel insurance because you never know what could happen. They say on RUclips about it what if you got sick or something. I think Walters World has said things about it on RUclips. Yeah I like Impractical jokers. It's a funny TV show. Nagashima Spa Land has a lot more roller coasters than Fuji Q so I'd rather spend 2 days at Nagashima than Fuji Q. What you said about the operations testing your patience makes me think I might want 2 days at Nagashima and 1 day at Fuji Q. I might be willing to go to the park with Big Boom to ride the other coasters there too. Jupiter being out of the way is the main reason I don't think I'd be able to ever ride it. I'd love to ride the Osaka oval Ferris wheel if I could too besides Big Boom. Thanks for commenting all that back to me. It's very helpful.
@@michael7054 Yep, I remember that question. The odd thing about both of my appearances on Coaster Hour were literally the same exact length by just a few seconds. That wasn't planned at all. That question was a reoccurring question that was kind of a joke. I guess I was the only one to answer it. I understand why folks would want travel insurance. Luckily, I haven't gotten sick enough to have to go do a doctor or hospital. I guess I am a bit risky when it comes to travel insurance. The oval ferris wheel in Osaka is cool to ride but the views weren't all that great from what I remember. It was one of those "once and done" type of things. There used to be an Intamin drop tower partially inside a building but it was removed. We could see the old structure from that ferris wheel. Because Vince and I booked 95% of the rooms on this trip, the other two guys had to pay us back during the trip so I didn't purchase any park admissions because it was covered by the others. We also went during a time the Yen was weak. That made it so much easier and much less expensive.
@SeanFlaharty The Osaka Oval Ferris wheel I was mainly wanting to ride because of its uniqueness. Yeah I can definitely see how it's a one and done ride. That's how I used to feel about Racer at Kings Island each visit because of its roughness a while back. The coaster hour streams with you both have about 500 views, the same as each other too. I think they've been viewed more than the average live stream he's done. Yeah that's odd how they're the same length within one minute. I was thinking you maybe got some park admissions free because you Vlog and promote their park. Id have to pay for all mine. I think it says on the travel channel "Wolters World" about getting travel insurance. I misspelled the channel last time. I watch his videos some. You could think about getting it when you got older. I understand when you first went to Europe in 2002 and Japan in 2005 you didn't think you needed it. If you got sick how would you pay it though is why I've thought about it. I can definitely see how sharing hotel and motel rooms saves a lot of money. Staying at a hostel definitely would if you could.
Cool video! My home park is SFOT, ever since your last visit, how did all the coasters rank for you? Here’s my list: 1. Mr Freeze (Reverse Blast) 2. Texas Giant (when Mr Freeze reverses) 3. Shockwave 4. Titan 5. Batman 6. Aquaman PowerWave 7. Runaway Mountain 8. Judge Roy Scream 9. Pandemonium 10. Runaway Mine Train 11. Joker 12. Mini Mine Train 13. Wilé Coyote Grand Canyon Blaster (Don’t include La Vibora as it is getting removed)
Thank you for taking us along. I'll miss Marty and his goofy thumbs up.
You are welcome. Thanks for coming along on the journey. Marty and his thumbs up are permanently burned into my mind. Ha ha.
Awesome vlog! Crazy return home. 😬 Thanks for the documenting it for the world!

The Skytree is enormous! (Great series by a great vlogger! Sad to see it end. Omg the mini drop tower is adorable!)
Thank you! I had a great time putting this series together. I am glad you watched it.
