Excellent video. The one independent park that bucks the trend is Hershey Park. They have an amazing ride lineup but unfortunately get the crowds that match Cedar Point and Disney at times. Independent parks can also have pay-per-ride systems such as Boardwalk Parks and (most notably) Knoebles-which itself gives a different vibe than corporate chains (I guess since IB Parks and Hershend are not on the stock market they technically don't count). I believe Kennywood and now Adventureland have to answer to the same people as the parks in Madrid as Lake Compounce had to go all the way up to Parques Reunidos to retrack Wildcat and they offered them a change to get a new coaster for equal value when (from what I here) amounted to kind of a waste
Indie parks aren't always trying to please shareholders with more and more profit. Every season you visit a big park it feels like they do something to try and squeeze more. You feel more respected and welcome at indie parks. But I still love some of the bigger parks
My favorite thing about independent parks is most of them you can pick your row on rollercoasters. That’s my biggest pet peeve about corporate parks because assigning rows does not speed up the line!

Independant parks are great, I love the laid back vibe. I'm thinking of heading back to Mt. Olympus and Indiana Beach this summer

Waldameer is also a good example of pay per ride with free entrance and optional pay one price wristbands.
