  • Can't Escape, Fight! is among my favorite soundtracks from One Piece. This piece has such a great combination of memorable melody, chromatic harmony and shifting key areas. There were also a lot of opportunities to include melody and accompaniment/countermelody. All these things combined made for a pretty challenging arrangement.

Definitely wish I was playing with this level of mastery in multiple bowing and other violin techniques.
Don’t really know what to be practicing where I’m at

@@MichaelShingo Shifting towards 5th 6th and 7th position with good intonation quickly, and I think I could use practice on songs with more complex bowing techniques too. At the moment a songs from animes I enjoy I want to be able to play would be HxH In the palace Lamentoso & Agitato, and also Senna in Bleach. That may indicate the level I'm currently around I presume. Sadly, I feel I have more years of experience then I do skill, ha!

In terms of developing your technique, playing 3 octave scales and arpeggios from G major to B major would help develop 5th, 6th, and 7th positions. Try those from the Flesch scale book with different bowing techniques and rhythms, using acceleration exercises (scale in half notes, all the way to 32nd notes) at Quarter Note = 60. You can also play those same scales all on one string, and then all in one position. Also try the double stop scales from Flesch!

The work it took to get to such a level on the violin. Impressive! What are all the violin techniques he used with mastery and ease in the 1 small song alone?

Thank you! Certainly a lot of chords and polyphony, and off the string bowings
