The Highland League has now opened itself to promotion/relegation (via playoffs) between the North Caledonian League and SJFA North Superleague (possibly SJFA East Super League as well) so soon there might be new Highland League teams to visit along with the teams playing in the new tier 6 leagues with ambitions of playing at a higher level, and possibly one day reaching the SPFL.
Superb again footy adventures. Great to show highland league and other teams up north of scotland. Great part of the country👌🏻Hopefully you’ll get to some games next season.
I come from a Scottish town called Glenrothes, so I imagine Rothes is pronounced the same. It's Roth-ess, you pronounce the Es like it's Ness without the N.
Stephen King is officially a fan of Buckie Thistle now, he attended a book festival recently wearing a Buckie Thistle top! They also have some other famous scottish cup moments aswell as the one you mentioned. They played holders Falkirk and scored to go 2-1 up with 5 minutes left, only for the ref to disallow it and Falkirk go up the park and score the winner. They also once knocked Hamilton out with a 2-0 win. Big fanbase too, check out videos on youtube from 2010 and 2011 when they won their first league championship in over 50 years, then won it again the year after. A crowd of 2600 was at the final game of the season in the title decider against rivals Deveronvale. What an atmosphere that day! Buckie came from a goal down to win 2-1 with a top quality late free kick to win the title. ruclips.net/video/-vpoeVyN06I/видео.html
Thanks for the vid! The best ones were people You met there. Great to have You there, despite the weather! True Scottish weather (almost) all year round ;)
Another great Highlands video , the football on show at these grounds is a long way off the EPL but I’d rather watch the HFL over the overpaid drama queens in the EPL any day of the week , grass roots football 👍
Thanks again Sam for going the extra steps to make just class Videos. Looks like I need to do a little more research my self to find the club I'm looking for. Whom Weber that my be. Hopefully it's some where along the Dee. Cheers and keep doing what you do 👍
there is a wee connection with Buckie and you're own club Liverpool , with 2 Buckie players having trials at Liverpool in the 40's with one them getting a contract
Great video. But glad I'm NOT in Scotland right now haha. Typical scottish weather haha. Crazy to see how good all of these are at branding. Loved the montage. Thanks 👍
Like watching the vids but they could do with a little bit of prep on the clubs you visit. It wouldn't take 5 minutes to find out how to pronounce Rothes. You also need to visit the mighty Broch and Bellslea Park.
Alan Shields Hamilton South Lanarkshire Scotland. As regards Bukie Thistle My understanding is they contacted Jock Stein through Celtic to see if they could get a set of strips as did Bradford Park Avenue & Jock Stein then organized for both clubs to get a set of Celtic home strips at different times. Dont worry about not getting to Fraserburgh sometimes our wether in Scotland get the better of all of us but I believe our wether being so severe at times makes us mentality stronger in a way. You pronounced Deveronvale perfectly. Rothes I would just say it as it is spelt. Keep Safe Sam.
Hey Alan, glad I got some of the pronunciations right this time!! Interesting to hear about Buckie and Jock Stein. Also yeah you can never pick the weather!
@@FootyAdventures Buckie Thistle Jock Stein isnt correct, Buckie have played in green white hoops since the early 1900s well before Jock Stein, but folklore is that Celtic did give Buckie Thistle strips. Celtic also came to play Buckie in 1989 to raise funds for the local catholic church spires St Peters RC chuch!

Stephen King has won Scottish football club Buckie Thistle a new army of fans after featuring the remote Highland League team in his new novella series. The American horror author has featured Buckie Thistle in his latest horror collection If It Bleeds because of its 'gorgeous name'. Since then, King has also donated Scotland's north-east coast football team two signed copies of the book to help them fundraise during the coronavirus pandemic.
"I don't know why I do this to myself" - cause you're an absolute legend that's why
Haha thanks so much!
have to agree
I love these grounds. Even on a grim day the setting was fantastic. Love that so many of the grounds have proper grass too
Love these little grounds and the fact you can just walk in to them in some cases! Really enjoyed both highland uploads thanks for the upload 👍
Only a true groundhopper experiences the weather in all it's hues. Hat off to you, Sam.
Haha cheers!

Great videos as always & it was a typical Scottish summers day for you 🤣🌧️☔ Great stadium content & facts as always, keep up the good work. 🏴⚽
Will you come back and do other highland league clubs like Fort William, Strathspey, Fraserbrugh, Formartine and Huntly
You would love Bellslea Park (Fraserburgh)

Ross Jack. ha ha - good shout. He played one game for us (Everton) and scored in it too. Went on to Norwich I think.
Love your passion for theses grounds

@@FootyAdventures as you've been to Horsfall you don't need me to confirm the BPA side of this story
Could you do Nairn St Ninian FC and all of the junior clubs
Could do a vid from Fraserburgh to formartine through to the locos in Inverurie
You should visit some of the Midlands Football League clubs, most of them are based in Dundee so you could get through them all in a day 👌
If you're ever back up Aberdeenshire way and you want to catch a peterhead or fraserburgh game, I'll buy you a half time pint. Love your videos
Good video again I bet it's cold in December in highland leagues 🚜🚜🚜🚜
Oh definitely would be freeeezing!
We from afar like to know about other teams, especially when it’s an adventure.
Should go to the Faroe Islands to do some football grounds their
Agreed that would be great.
The reason why Nairn County have a dolphin as a badge is because of Nairn as a famous seaside town. Nairn is most famous for its golf club.
Cheers for letting me know! Seemed like a great town
Hi mate great vid again thanks for the birthday wish all the best
Surely Wick Academy have to be the greatest of all Highland League teams.
Very interesting 👍🏻 🏴
the smell at Rothes is probably from the Glen Grant Distillery
You should have had a nosy at Bank o Dee's Spain park, half mile away from cove, just down the road.
Definitely will next time! I didn't realise that was so close!!
If your in the Highlands please invest in a pair of waterproof trousers and a pair of walking boots. It's a must for every football fan.
Haha yeah I know for next time!!
My brother used to play for Deveronvale as a goalkeeper his name is Dylan Gray
My home town Inverness . I live just north now .
You should come to check out The Racecourse Ground home of Wrexham AFC in Wrexham, North Wales
Definitely! Especially with their new takeover!
Why did Brechin City say you couldn't go ?
Rothes ..it’s pronounced ‘Roth’ ‘es’ (Roth-es) 👍 The smell would have been the malt from the local distillery (smells like burnt weetabix) 🤣

What happened at Deverondale? 🤣
For someone who lived in Australia to get caught out in the cold and rain without a pair of Blundstones to keep his dogs warm and dry is unforgivable.
Watching this video, I was surprised by the strange voice type sounds that start around the 5:05 minute mark for about 20 seconds.
Haha the ghosts of Keith FC!
Rothes is pronounced “ Rothiss “
Can’t wait to get back in Keith playing for their under 17s and 20s on kynoch park
Interesting, I was suprised they have relegation in the HL for 21-22 season now, the end of a long era of no relegation
Rothes we not got mountains it hills we call them up here
