I think the saddest part of this video is that you caged yourself into staying in Beirut. You would have experienced much more if you went to different parts of Lebanon, which are cheaper and honestly just superior in almost every way. Beaches, weather, food etc.. Thank you for visiting and I'm sorry for your experience with the taxi drivers, this seems to be a universal thing where taxi drivers try to scam the tourists, I know in Europe they've been regulating it but I doubt Lebanon will catch up in that department anytime soon.

@@mindfulnas - Byblos (also called Jbeil, one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the world)
      - Qadisha Valley (Holy Valley in the Syriac language; filled with ancient cliffside monasteries; extremely lush and green, especially in spring)
      - Bcharre & the cedars of God (ancient cedar trees and great views of the Qadisha Valley).
      - Baalbek (the best preserved Roman ruins in the world, and some of the largest Roman temples, with very few tourists; there are also Byzantine and Islamic layers of history)
      - Douma (typical Lebanese mountain village)
      - Deir Al Qamar (another beautiful village) & Beiteddine Palace (architectural gem)
      - Faqra Roman ruins
      - Jeita Grotto (amazing cave with a section of walking and a section of boat ride underground)
      - Harissa (statue of Mary overlooking Jounieh Bay; breathtaking views) & Saint Paul Melkite Basilica. There’s a cable car taking you up there.
I could go on for days but you should absolutely look up images of these places

You lost me when you mentioned Vegan...
Who goes to Beirut when they're Vegan?
Also, you got ripped off majorly.
I understand being a tourist, but with the slightest bit of research you could have saved thousands.

I found Beirut expensive while I was living in Lebanon, pre-Covid. So I based myself out of Tripoli. Much cheaper, has a more Mid-East vibe, but less things to do (definitely no vegan hospital there).
Sorry to hear you got scammed. I like how you take it as a learning point. And yes the Lebanese are super resilient - admirable & unfortunate (because of their geography) at the same time.

Do your research before going to any country. Lebanon is great if you know a local or two, and if you are a seasoned traveler. But don’t expect western like simplicity and user friendliness.

Do me a favor and google jounieh , kaslik, Jbeil Byblos, Jeita grotto , skiing and the many other wonderful things.
Dude stuck himself in a shithole , did zero research and refused to spend a few extra dollars to see what lebanon is about
