It's funny to see in the Nabucco clip that 1st and 2nd trombonists have different ways to play: the 1st trombonist never blinks while the 2nd trombonist blinks very often

While I'm not a t-bone player, I've always been exhilarated when hearing their parts in the William Tell overture.
A section where they can shine.

Festive Overture is my absolute favorite. A low brass challenge and a crowd pleaser!

I'm not positive, but she may be Dorothy Ziegler. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Ziegler

Hold on, is that Leonard Paul from Mnozil Brass on 2nd trombone at 1:20 ? That guy vaguely looks like him.

Cimbasso. Sometimes used as a substitute for a bass trombone. While it's ergonomically superior, purists would say that it doesn't produce the same timbre as a traditional slide bass trombone.
Of course, trombones are really just big trumpets; the word "trombone" means big trumpet, from the Italian derivation.
From what little I know, the cimbasso is still not widely employed by professionals.

Das Cimbasso wird meistens in italienischen Opern verwendet. Es gab in Italien lange die Tradition dass die Posaunisten Ventilposaune in den Opern von Verdi gespielt haben. Klanglich passt es hervorragend zusammen!
