Seeking Refuge in the Lord: A Biblical Promise of Protection The concept of seeking refuge in God is a powerful theme that echoes through both the Old Testament and the Quran. The Old Testament contains explicit assurances from God about His protection for those who take refuge in Him. In Proverbs 30:5, it is written, "Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him." This verse explicitly states that God acts as a shield for those who seek His protection. Similarly, in 2 Samuel 22:31, the text affirms, "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him." Psalm 18:30 echoes this sentiment: "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him." These verses collectively reinforce the idea that God’s protection is assured for those who seek it earnestly. This is a promise of protection extended to those who sincerely seek the shelter of the Lord. For Muslims, the Quran and prophetic sayings explicitly order muslims to seek refuge in Allah, the same God worshiped by Abraham, Moses, and Noah. Muslims regularly seek refuge in God, particularly through their five daily prayers and various supplications. It is prescribed is to seek refuge with Allaah from the accursed Shaytaan before reading, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “So when you want to recite the Qur’aan, seek refuge with Allaah from Shaytaan (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one)” [al-Nahl 16:98] This is part of the 5 daily prayers too before reading surah fateha. The Quran emphasizes this need for divine protection in several verses: 1. **Surah Al-Falaq (113:1-5)**: "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn, from the evil of what He has created..." 2. **Surah An-Naas (114:1-6)**: "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind..." 3. **Surah Al-A’raf (7:200)**: "And if an evil whisper comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge with Allah..." 4. **Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:97-98)**: "And say: My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the incitements of the devils..." 5. **Surah Fussilat (41:36)**: "And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah..." In each of the 5 prayers the refuge of the Lord is sought. A very significant number of prayers of the prophet include seeking the refuge of the Lord. O Allah! To You I have submitted, In You I have believed, Upon You I have depended (in all of my affairs), To You I have turned (in obedience), and With You (i.e. Your Aid) I make my argument and defense. O Allāh! Indeed, I seek refuge in Your ‘Izzah (Might, Power) - There is nothing which deserves to be worshiped besides You - from You misguiding me. You are al-Hayy (the Ever-Living) Who does not die, while the Jinn (creatures created from fire) and Ins (humans) die. [Sahih Muslim 2717] O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I misguide others , or I am misguided by others , lest I cause others to err or I am caused to err , lest I abuse others or be abused, and lest I behave foolishly or meet with the foolishness of others. Abu Dawud: 5094, Ibn Majah: 3884 When Afflicted with Doubt a The Prophet ordered He should seek refuge in Allaah. أَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast. These Quranic verses, like those in the Old Testament, highlight the importance of seeking refuge in God as a means of protection from harm and evil. If the Old Testament is indeed the word of God, as believed by Jews and Christians, then the divine promise of protection should extend to all those who sincerely seek refuge in the Lord of Abraham and Moses. Muslims, who worship the God of Abraham, Moses, and Noah, are entitled to this protection if they earnestly seek refuge in Him. Given that Muslims actively seek refuge in the same God through their prayers, they too would be shielded by the same divine protection promised in the scriptures. So muslims must be guided if the Old Testament is the word of God.

If the Quran is true, then Islam is false. Why? Because the Quran says to trust the Gospel and the Gospel contradict the Quran. This means the Quran can't be true if it says the gospel message is also true.
@@solidsnake4200 Lets start with those two verses, please explain them ! Let the followers of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein, and those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are the transgressors. S 5:47 Say to them: 'People of the Book! You have no solid ground to stand on unless you establish the Torah and the Gospel and all that had been revealed to you from your Lord. As muslim you have to take the route, that the gosple mohammed refered to, was a different one, and that the original one he had got corupted somehow. So its not a logical contradiction, but opens many further question.
@@Serenity5460 You can't use the Quran to point to an Injil that proves the Quran. Thats circular reasoning fallacy. Although i respect your grandparents being Muslim, all your family, at this point you at least should know better and do better
@@danielgomessilva8966 Exactly, and this is what no muslim that I've pointed this out to has been able to respond to. The Quran commands Christians to judge the validity of the Quran by using their own scriptures. But muslims argue the Injeel and the Gospels are different- the Injeel was an oral revelation given to Jesus, and the Gospels that the Christians had at the time of the Muhammad were supposedly corrupted. To discover the true Injeel within the Gospels, the Christians were to compare the two scriptures, and anything that aligns with the Quran in the Gospels is the true Injeel. And there comes the circular reasoning. Christians are asked to use their scriptures to validate the Quran, but at the same time, they're told to only accept the parts of their scriptures that already agree with the Quran. This means the Quran is assumed to be the ultimate authority even before the comparison begins, making the process inherently biased, and placing the Christians in an impossible situation. I've had muslims try to argue that the Christians were supposed to judge the validity of the Quran by other means as well as by their own scriptures, but that is not what the Quran says. Christians are not commanded in the Quran to judge its validity by any other means besides their own scriptures. Edit: Very simply outlining the circular reasoning and logical fallacy of the command for the muslims who don't want to read my comment or understand the Islamic dilemma: 1. The Quran commands Christians to validate its truth by using their own scriptures (Surah 5:47). 2. Muslims and Muslim scholars argue that the Christian scriptures (the Bible) are corrupted, and only parts of the true "Injeel" remain within. 3. Muslims and Muslim scholars also claim that Christians should find the true parts of the Injeel by comparing their scriptures to the Quran, with only the parts that align with the Quran considered valid. 4. This requires Christians to assume the Quran's authority from the start to identify what is true in their own scriptures- but Christians are supposed to be investigating whether the Quran is true in the first place.

So now you’re telling me that only a seasoned Quran scholar can tackle and showcase this as a problem for Muslims? Look, I was raised Muslim and switched to Christianity in my 20s, and I’ve been scratching my head over the same thing. What’s this Injil you speak of? You mean to tell me Jesus had a book? Where’s the proof? Where did this book vanish to? It just doesn’t add up that Jesus would have a book and there’s not a trace of it left. Anyway, I guess I must’ve been a genius to question this in the first place, huh?
They just copied the Gospels by the sound of it. Jesus already had had a book written about him long before mohammed arrived on the scene, they didn't have a book (about mohammed) at that time, only oral tradition. So they had to create one which was subsequently added to/updated by various different scholars every so often. That's why there are so many different q'rans.
Even in the name "injil", from Greek "euangelion" (good news) points directly to christian tradition of scripture, yet muslims don't believe Isa brought any news, only the same message as every other one of their alleged prophets. The evangelion is the good news _about_ Jesus Christ. His incarnation, His message, His fulfillment of messianic prophecy, His victory over death and the grave, and His ultimate revelation of God in the flesh to mankind. The arguments muslims have to come up with are always nonsensical because their prophet and their book already conceded.
I don't think this is what Cameron intends to say. This is a very good question as it is easily understandable for lay people. Cameron tries to find out what scholars say to this question. Sometimes an easy to understand contradiction has a good solution when we listen to the scholars. And this interview shows that the strategy of Muslim scholars is to just avoid the contradiction. To bring in my point I will bring another example. Many Muslims think that the trinity is wrong because 1+1+1=1. This is actually quite the convincing argument against Christianity, until you hear how Christians solve it. And with the solution of the Christians it is suddenly not a problem anymore. It may still has some mysterious aspects to it, but it is not a logical contradiction anymore. Because of that, not all arguments which are intuitive are also rigorous. Once we hear that scholars also don't have a solution then we can continue using the intuitive argument with even more boldness.
You were Muslim but didn't know where the proof of Jesus having Injeel is? LoL, liar exposed. You also don't know why it isn't with us today? These are elementary questions with elementary answers. Read a book. Ask someone. Holy crap.

No he just knows you christians have no argument but he does't want to break cameron's heart. The section on whether the gospel or Quran is more preserved was hilarious.
As a former believer in the qur’an I can say first hand it’s the easiest of all holy books to prove false. It’s full of errors, almost nonstop. Historical and scientific inaccuracies. But worse, I believed it was the preserved word of God because this is what’s taught. However it turns out: 1. There are over 36 original Qurans. 2. The current version of the Quran (Hafs) wasn’t certified until 1924. Yes, the 20th century is when the Quran became what it is. 3. The qirat and ahruf absolutely disprove it. Yaser Qadhi explains this well by saying “we simply cannot teach this to the masses because their faith will be at risk. We must not speak of it to normal Muslims only super advanced students.” 4. The Quran didn’t even understand the Trinity. Literally teaches that Christians believe Mary is part of the Trinity. The Muslims will say this was because he was speaking about a small cult sect of Christians yet they say the Quran is preserved in heaven as eternal word of God. So God chose the smallest sect that nobody has ever known about as the example for all eternity? This alone disproves it. 5. The satanic verses. Muhammad became demon possessed by Satan who gave words to him from God to worship other gods. Muhammad later apologized for giving evil teachings to his students. 6. We now know Mecca was not the original place of Muhammad. It was likely Petra or potentially iraq. No historical evidence for Muslims in Mecca whatsoever in the early centuries. 7. The Quran texted the gospel is true and from God. In the late 8th century when the Quran was produced, the gospel was already established for 5-6 centuries. So God approved of the current version of the gospel. New age Muslims now claim the word of god wasn’t what he actually meant. 8. We now know from the historical record, “Muhammad” was actually a man named Quathem which in Arabic means “feces.” 9. Muhammad/Quathem had terrible character. He not only slept with children, he stole wives from his followers, constantly abrogated his earlier words for new teachings of a supposed eternal law? Make that make sense. 10. “By their fruits you shall know them.”show me good fruits of Islam? And lastly, the Quran is near perfect as the satanic Bible, how? Well, it teaches all the stories retold from the Bible. Which tricks people to think it’s the same God. He even preaches of Jesus, but changes just a couple of things: 1. Jesus is not divine. 2. Jesus did not die he tricked to people into crucifying an innocent man in his place. 3. Denies Jesus role for salvation. So it rejects our salvation by believing in it. Islam is most certainly from Satan. If you want proof, research their messiah the Mahdi and compare him to the antichrist of the Bible. 1. He will create a peace for 7 years. 2. He will murder all Christian and Jews. 3. He will have a prophet Jesus before him to point to him as the savior which directly shows the false prophet of the Bible who will come before the antichrist to point to him as the one. Evil.
I agree on the last part certainly. There are two things that become clear the more familiar you become with the bible and quran: 1. the PIVOTAL teaching at the core of islam is that Jesus is not God. Believers get all caught up in the laws and rituals but 2. whomever wrote the quran was clueless about the bible while simultaneously insinuating islam with the bible as a scheme to give itself an appearance of legitimacy. It is tragic that the church was slow to spread to the people of that part of the world, because satan exploited that longing for truth to play with the ignorance in the region, causing it to become violent and spread against the arabs who had recieved the true gospel.

Good video Cam! I’d like to see you do scholarly dives into the problems with a number of religions. Mormonism seems to be trending on youtube amongst the religious channels of late, so that would be a fun one. Examining the historical problems with the Book of Mormon, especially considering some Mormons are trying to argue for its validity based on the assertion that the evidence and methodology is equal to that of the New Testament. Spoiler alert, it’s not, but I’d like to see a scholarly response to it.
@@Truth791The preservation of Islamic texts has always been a challenge. Historically, multiple versions of the Qur'an existed, but Uthman, the third caliph, standardized the text by burning six other versions. While the Hafs qira'at (Egypt) is the most widely used in the Middle East today, it’s not universal-West Africa, for example, predominantly uses the Warsh qira'at. After Muhammad’s death, the early Islamic community resorted to warfare to spread and preserve their religion. The Rashidun Caliphate expanded rapidly, conquering the Byzantine Empire, uniting Arabia, and then setting its sights on Europe, particularly Spain and Italy. Islam is a nightmare, theologically. Secular scholars like Gabriel acknowledge these problems, but as you can tell from the video, they have to tread carefully to avoid backlash and death threats from the Islamic world and extremists!
@@proquowit's misleading to say different Qiraaats are different versions. It's just a mode of recitation as Quran was predominantly passed on orally and then to ink. These modes of recitation were allowed during Prophet PBUH time. To help people understand it's like the difference between American and Scottish accents.

There were a few warlords using the name MHMD in the 7C, but in Northern areas, not down in Mecca. One attacked Jerusalem, and seemed to be have a coarse ill-informed version of Christianity, not Islam. MHMD was also used for the title of some Jewish exilarchs, and also Syrian christians were using it as a title for Jesus. But the Rashidun caliphs are not present, unless one equates Amr with Umar, as a coarse ill-educated fellow who attacked Egypt, but his motive was primarily to get the tax from a wealthy former Byzantine province. Muawiya is real and documented, but is using christian symbols, so not Islamic. Abd El Malik looks as if he was moving towards Islamic concepts in his coins and Dome of the Rock and Arabisation of administration, late 7C, so 60 years too late. @collybever I suspect the Arab conquest of Egypt was, rather than an invasion, Arab auxiliaries of the Persians who remained in control there after Emperor Heracules won the war.
I love and appreciate Gabriels attempt at unbiased scholarship, seeking to truly understand and properly represent all sides of an issue is absolutely the right way to do things. However, it seemed to me at points he was afraid to engage and answer questions that, based on the information he had already confirmed and admitted, had a clear answer. For example the last question "What do you think the Injeel is" and his answer is that "We don't have enough information from the Quran to answer that", Yet, we do know the majority of the Christians in the area were Nicene trinitarian Christians with the 27 book gospel, we do know that the word Injeel does intend the word "gospel", we do know what holy book was around in the hands of those orthodox Christians at the time of Muhammad, we do know a whole bunch of information about the context in which it was written, and the Christians it was attributed to. That seems to me to be wayyyyyy more than enough information to come to a conclusion about what exactly is being referred to. I just would encourage him that it is okay to come to conclusions based on the information you have in front of you. I understand the desire to not over extend on points, but the point seems to be pretty clearly solidified and he didn't seem aware of any counter arguments that held any genuine weight against it. You don't need to validate bad arguments.
For those who say that our master Muhammad is not a prophet. A good news from the Gospel of Matthew, in which Christ says: Verily, verily, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 11/11-15). * Dr. Munther said: The least in the kingdom of heaven is Elijah who is to come, whom the prophets prophesied, one prophet after another, and the last of them was John the Baptist. So who is the least Elijah in the kingdom of heaven? He is Muhammad, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, who was made smaller by his later time than the other prophets, but he surpassed them all by the completion of his message and God’s satisfaction with his religion as a final religion until the Day of Judgment. If it is not Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, then who is it? A Christian cannot claim that Jesus is the last of the messengers and prophets because of their belief in the message of his disciples and others like Paul, and his message was not completed, peace be upon him, as evidenced by the modification and abrogation that the disciples made to it in the first Jerusalem Council, claiming to make it easier for the converts, so they abolished circumcision, and permitted some of the prohibitions of the Torah... This lesser one will come in the kingdom of heaven, which had not yet been established at that time, and he is about to come and has not yet come, he is Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. End quote. * This good news also came in the Gospel of Luke: But what did you go out to see, a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet, this is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you. For I say to you, Among those born of women there is no prophet greater than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. (Luke 7/26). Dr. Munther Bishara from the Gospel of John said: John is unique in his Gospel in mentioning these successive glad tidings from Christ about this awaited prophet, where Christ says, advising his disciples: If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, that he may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you... If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my word, and the word you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. These things I have spoken to you, and I am with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you... Now I have told you before it comes, so that when it does come to pass you may believe, I will no longer talk much with you, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has nothing in me. (John 14/15 - 30). In the next chapter, Christ, peace be upon him, preaches to his disciples, asking them to keep his commandments, then he says: When the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me, and you also will bear witness because you were with me from the beginning. I have spoken these things to you so that you will not be offended. They will put you out of the synagogues, and the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God... Sorrow has filled your hearts, but I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. Of sin, because they do not believe in me; of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you see me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, that will he speak. And he will declare to you things to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. (John 15/26 - 16/14) He said: In these texts, Christ, peace be upon him, speaks about the characteristics of the one who comes after him. So who is this one who is coming? Muslims believe that what was mentioned in John about the Comforter, the ruler of this coming world, is in fact a good news from Christ about our Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - and this is evident from a number of things, including that the word "Comforter" is a modern word that was replaced by new translations of the New Testament, while the old Arabic translations (1820 AD, 1831 AD, 1844 AD) used the Greek word (Paraclete) as it is, which is what many international translations do. In explaining the Greek word "Paraclete" we say: This word, which is of Greek origin, is not devoid of one of two states, the first is "Paracleteos", so according to the Christians it means: Comforter, Helper, and Agent. The second is "Pyrokletos", so it is close in meaning to: Muhammad and Ahmad.

I think Muhammed didn't strawman Christianity, he probably thought he was teaching things that were correct. He just never read New Testament or Gospels and trusted whatever he heard in region he lived as well as revelation from Allah. So I think Christians should definitely be allowed to question Muhammed's understanding of Christianity.
Mark, Arabia had a heretic Christian cult that said Mary was part of the Trinity and that appears in Muslim books somewhere. Muhumamd was definitely taught some goofy heresy
From what I have read of Muhammad's teachings, I don't think he was genuine. In fact, given the things he did and said, six hundred years after Jesus, I'm inclined to believe that his goal was to perpetuate the Islamic religion, while undermining Christians, in order to protect and preserve his dishonestly obtained, holy title

It is important to note that a lot of academic scholars of The New Testament believe that Jesus never claimed to be God. Many believe that Jesus saw himself as a Prophet and Messiah. Thus, he must have thought and preached he was receiving at times revelation from heaven. That is obviously what The Quran is likewise take to be the Injeel. So the Quranic position is quite coherent and quite aligned with academic implications if not academic findings. For a more in depth response I wrote, please see above. Peace.
@@ihsanseeker3802 it is likewise important to not that; 1. The academical scholars you (didn't even mention any) referred to are atheist or non-Christians and would therefore be biased against what is recorded in the gospel. 2. Atheist scholars like Bart D. Ehrman disagrees with you (see his debate with Michael Bird) 3. Many other Scholars like Richard Bauckham, Peter J Williams, Michael Heiser, NT Wright, Craig Blomberg, Craig Evans, Gary Habermas, Michael Bird, James D.G. Dunn, Luuk van de Weghe, Dr William Lane Craig, Bart D Ehrman (in a debate), Sean McDowell, Paul Copan, Tim Chester, James K.A. Smith, J.P. It's just the view among most non believing scholars. 4. All these scholars (you didn't mention) agrees with the Christians scholars that JESUS was crucified and that his followers believed he's somehow alive again and they (some at least) went around preaching he's resurrected, something the Qur'an disagrees with (according to most Muslims) 5. The earliest writings about a person is the most trustworthy and most especially if it has a wide range of support. The early church fathers from different locations all around the world from the first century all affirm that the disciples of JESUS believed in his deity and resurrection. Some scholars have to try to "read between the lines". While some take the earliest records about JESUS as the authors wanted them to be understood. Many people till today claim to be GOD as far back as we can go, so why not someone from a very religious community in Jerusalem? He could have been delusional, but still claimed to be GOD 6. All scholars would also dismiss the idea that Muhammad was speaking with an angel (which would agree with the Biblical view of Islam). 7. The Qur'anic view of JESUS is ambiguous and difficult to defend. A fact many scholars would agree with
You have a group of people come together and decide what the bible is because of so many books floating around, rejecting so many books, and they decided what your bible today .. even that something you can agree fully
Yeah, Islam makes complete sense!!! The truth about Islam has been one of the world's best-kept secrets. For centuries, anyone who dare raise objections against Islam would place his/her life in danger. But things have changed. With the internet, it is now impossible for Muslims to keep the dark teachings of Islam a secret. 1. Allah will wipe those who do not commit sin and replace them with people who sin and then ask for forgiveness -Sahih Muslim Book 37, Number 6622. Holiness and striving for high moral values are dangerous with Allah! 2. Allah allows prostitution (mutah) -Surah 24:33 3. Allah spreads hatred among people-surah 5:14 4. You can have sex with a child who is even too young to menstruate, and then divorce her-surah 65:4😢😢😢 5. Satan made parts of the Quran -Surah 22:52 6. After cutting off the heads of unbelievers, Muslims must cut off their finger tips-surah 8:12 7. Allah allows you to sleep with your own daughter, provided she's a product of adultery, and continue sleeping with her mother at the same time-Tafsir al-Qurtubi on surah 25:54. Contrast Leviticus 18:17. 8. Allah revealed that an adult male should be breastfed 10 times a day by any woman he meets. Yeah, your wife can give her breasts to total strangers! Everyday! 9. Allah has fixed the number of adultery a man MUST commit-sahih Muslim 2657b book 46 Hadith 32. 10. If a husband divorces his wife irrevocably (3 talaqs), she shall not be lawful for him after that, until she marries and have intercourse with another man who in turn have to divorce her again. Allah's law requires that the woman must actually engage in sexual intercourse with the second man before she can return to her former husband. Surah 2:230 is one of the most unethical religious decrees ever to be issued. How unjust to an innocent wife! How injurious to her innocent children! How painful to a husband desirous of undoing an utterance in a brief moment of anger! No, thanks. Keep your "better" and "complete sense" religion.

Christianity is not a book religion. It is a Way of life in union with Christ with Sacred Scripture, Tradition and teaching authority of the Church. Noone in the early Church walked around with a Bible because the canon of Scripture wasn't finalised until the 5th century.
Yes, the Church was the first witness, even before the scriptures. This is why 1 Timothy 3:15 calls the “Church” (ἐκκλησία) the “pillar” (στῦλος) and “foundation” (ἑδραίωμα) of the truth 👍
Not true. The early church most certainly had the Scriptures and it was the basis of their faith. 2 Timothy 3:14-17 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for salvation, through faith which is in Jesus Christ. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
@@srinugrohoprahastono7701 The anchor was the teaching and preserving office of the church I.e. the bishops and elders. Isn't it recorded somewhere that Mohammed set the Torah on a cushion and said that he believed in it and what it contained? Thus negating claims of corruption.
The proof is the lack of proof for its existence. All those big new buildings need deep foundations. What happens when you dig in ancient cities? You find ancient artifacts. NONE found in Mecca. Seeking Refuge in the Lord: A Biblical Promise of Protection
The concept of seeking refuge in God is a powerful theme that echoes through both the Old Testament and the Quran.
The Old Testament contains explicit assurances from God about His protection for those who take refuge in Him.
In Proverbs 30:5, it is written, "Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him." This verse explicitly states that God acts as a shield for those who seek His protection.
Similarly, in 2 Samuel 22:31, the text affirms, "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him."
Psalm 18:30 echoes this sentiment: "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him." These verses collectively reinforce the idea that God’s protection is assured for those who seek it earnestly.
It is prescribed is to seek refuge with Allaah from the accursed Shaytaan before reading, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“So when you want to recite the Qur’aan, seek refuge with Allaah from Shaytaan (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one)”
[al-Nahl 16:98]
This is part of the 5 daily prayers too before reading surah fateha.
The Quran emphasizes this need for divine protection in several verses:
1. **Surah Al-Falaq (113:1-5)**:
"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn, from the evil of what He has created..."
2. **Surah An-Naas (114:1-6)**:
"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind..."
3. **Surah Al-A’raf (7:200)**:
"And if an evil whisper comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge with Allah..."
4. **Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:97-98)**:
"And say: My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the incitements of the devils..."
5. **Surah Fussilat (41:36)**:
"And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah..."
In each of the 5 prayers the refuge of the Lord is sought.
[Sahih Muslim 2717]
O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I misguide others , or I am misguided by others , lest I cause others to err or I am caused to err , lest I abuse others or be abused, and lest I behave foolishly or meet with the foolishness of others.
Abu Dawud: 5094, Ibn Majah: 3884
When Afflicted with Doubt a The Prophet ordered
He should seek refuge in Allaah.
أَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast.

Edit: Very simply outlining the circular reasoning and logical fallacy of the command for the muslims who don't want to read my comment or understand the Islamic dilemma:
This video will go down as a “classic exposition” of the Islamic Quran dilemma. Exactly! The quran also says that if there is an error within it, then it's a false book NOT from God. Well, there are at least 3 verses that Umar said that made it in the quran (Sahih Bukhari 402). Epic interview, thanks y'all
So now you’re telling me that only a seasoned Quran scholar can tackle and showcase this as a problem for Muslims?
Holy crap.

@@gabrielaprofetaphillips1740 As for the distortion of the Gospel, it can be said that it began when Paul showed his embrace of Christianity, to work on undermining it from within, and he began writing his fourteen pagan letters, which occupy a large part of the Bible - for Christians - and include principles in the doctrine, law, and foundations of the religion that he invented. In these letters, he states that he learned these principles and rulings from Christ - peace and blessings be upon him - and that he received the Gospel from him. It was stated in Paul's letter to the Galatians: Now I make known to you, brothers, that the gospel which I preached is not according to man, for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Paul's letter to the Galatians, number 12011, chapter one.
The influence of Paul and his role in the distortion. He says: This Paul is the one who took the religion of Jesus out of its natural garment and into a new garment. He is the one who changed the description of Jesus from the Son of Man, which the disciples used to call him, to the Son of God. He is the one who abolished the exclusivity of the religion of Jesus to his Jewish people, and allowed all polytheists to enter it. He abolished the law of Moses regarding circumcision, and many other laws, to please the new polytheists and the rest of Greek society... and he is the one who caused the scandal of the crucifixion and the Lord’s Supper... etc. O People of the Book, come, p. 106, quoted from Christianity.

However it turns out:
We must not speak of it to normal Muslims only super advanced students.”
8. We now know from the historical record, “Muhammad” was actually a man named Quathem which in Arabic means “feces.”
Evil.
👍👍
I agree on the last part certainly.
There are two things that become clear the more familiar you become with the bible and quran:
1. the PIVOTAL teaching at the core of islam is that Jesus is not God. Believers get all caught up in the laws and rituals but
2. whomever wrote the quran was clueless about the bible while simultaneously insinuating islam with the bible as a scheme to give itself an appearance of legitimacy.
It is tragic that the church was slow to spread to the people of that part of the world, because satan exploited that longing for truth to play with the ignorance in the region, causing it to become violent and spread against the arabs who had recieved the true gospel.

Finally a reputable scholar actually giving a critical analysis of the Quran
The Anti-Ehrman lol
Have you been living under a rock?
It is important to note that a lot of academic scholars of The New Testament believe that Jesus never claimed to be God. Many believe that Jesus saw himself as a Prophet and Messiah. Thus, he must have thought and preached he was receiving at times revelation from heaven. That is obviously what The Quran is likewise take to be the Injeel. So the Quranic position is quite coherent and quite aligned with academic implications if not academic findings. For a more in depth response I wrote, please see above. Peace.

It is important to note that those scholars are wrong.
Peace be with you.
@@ihsanseeker3802 it is likewise important to not that;
1. The academical scholars you (didn't even mention any) referred to are atheist or non-Christians and would therefore be biased against what is recorded in the gospel.
2. Atheist scholars like Bart D. Ehrman disagrees with you (see his debate with Michael Bird)
3. Many other Scholars like Richard Bauckham, Peter J Williams, Michael Heiser, NT Wright, Craig Blomberg, Craig Evans, Gary Habermas, Michael Bird, James D.G. Dunn, Luuk van de Weghe, Dr William Lane Craig, Bart D Ehrman (in a debate), Sean McDowell, Paul Copan, Tim Chester, James K.A. Smith, J.P. Moreland, Michael Licona and so many many many more disagrees. So it's the consensus view among most Christian scholars and not the consensus view among all scholars. It's just the view among most non believing scholars.
4. All these scholars (you didn't mention) agrees with the Christians scholars that JESUS was crucified and that his followers believed he's somehow alive again and they (some at least) went around preaching he's resurrected, something the Qur'an disagrees with (according to most Muslims)
5. He could have been delusional, but still claimed to be GOD

Islam is better and makes complete sense more than any religion in the world
Yeah, Islam makes complete sense!!!
2. Allah allows prostitution (mutah) -Surah 24:33
3. Allah spreads hatred among people-surah 5:14
4. You can have sex with a child who is even too young to menstruate, and then divorce her-surah 65:4😢😢😢
5. Satan made parts of the Quran -Surah 22:52
6. After cutting off the heads of unbelievers, Muslims must cut off their finger tips-surah 8:12

What i get from this paragraph is.
"Christians doctrine can be changed because they have no anchor to hold it".😑
Yes, the Church was the first witness, even before the scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:14-17
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for salvation, through faith which is in Jesus Christ.
For example the bishops representing the many local churches present at the councils of Hippo and Carthage who finalised the canon of scripture. Their decisions were then ratified by the pope.

@bringemyoungpbuh4123 Jesus quoting from a biblical canon that has the deuterocanonical books means he accepted them as Scripture. Also, he celebrated Hannukah, which is from Maccabbes, a deuterocanonical book.
@@fantasia55 Protestants don't reject those extra books in an absolute sense, as one can see them in some protestant bibles. But the Jewish rabbis ultimately rejected them as non-canonical, and many had no Hebrew originals, but were in Greek only.
