      Doing grammatical mistakes are normal!! It just should be comprehensible to others!! Those who judge someone's english (even after getting what he is trying to say)... Don't want nothing but to humiliate that person!!
      There's difference between correction and judgement!!

    Knowing a language is one thing and enjoying it is another. Our beloved English Nut thoroughly enjoys it and it shows. Much, much love. Also, this video is not just about correcting the pronunciation, but differentiating words that either sound or seem similar. Great work, The English Nut! And good acting. :D

    We get irritated when some Indian mispronounces English. When some foriegner does the same to Hindi(or Telugu) guess what "omg, soo cute, loved the way you pronounced it!! Soo adorable!! Wow!!!". English is just a language not a status symbol. It is good to speak English with correct pronunciation but it is disgusting to belittle someone who misses some words here and there.

    I know the primary purpose of this video is to help viewers improve their pronunciation, but in videos you plan to make after this one, please consider not using a waiter, even if hypothetical, as an example of a person with poor English speaking skills. In India, most waiters (and other people in similar roles) come from humble backgrounds with limited access to English education in school. Their deficiency in English speaking skills is usually a result of lack of resources/access, rather than a lack of intelligence/effort. Beyond a subset of urban professionals in India, good English education in schools and through childhood/adolescence is a privilege. It’s great to expect correct English pronunciation from people around us and to help them where necessary, but it’s also important to be conscious of the biases we inadvertently develop living in our bubble and to be mindful of how these biases are perpetuated in the publicly consumable content we create.

      The English language is fraught with inconsistencies , idiosyncrasies, and anomalies due to its eclectic nature. Pronunciation becomes even more challenging if the borrowed word is of French origin. For example, the word "Rendezvous" is pronounced exactly the way it is pronounced in French i.e. rahn-de-voo.

    I do understand the context of this video to educate people on pronunciation and meaning of words but showcasing a waiter to do it feels wrong. We should not be mocking people for wrong pronunciation or misuse of words in English. People may not have formal education in and on English, if we are able to understand the substance they are saying then why we are all so ready to judge that person on his ability to speak a language. Hindi is also our official language and we all know how much knowledge we have to spell, speak and use it correctly. We sweat if an application form is in Hindi!! I am not coming as a hater, and I am not saying that we should not learn a language correctly. But when you start judging people and your inside goes churned listening to them that isn't cool. We have people across so many states speaking English with different accent, pace and pronunciation and there is nothing wrong. I have also corrected people so many times but only when they are not intimidated by it and based on the whom I speaking with like in one to one conversation with colleagues, kids, friends, peer to peer reviews of document, emails etc. I have even worked with people from US, UK, Japan and China, nobody's English is perfect. Sometimes even grammatically wrong. Anyways, just wanted to express my thoughts. Again no hate, just little bit disappointed. Hope you do understand and please don't try to find mistakes in my English 😅

    • @mesuper240
      @mesuper240 3 года назад

      I believe the use of a character as a "waiter" was somewhat in context to a common term in India - "Butler English". But yes i do totally agree with your thoughts on this. But then again to think of it, I personally believe one should not get offended even if compared to a waiter, afterall all professions require hardword and are to be equally respected. Also many youth studying abroad work part time in such jobs. Comparing someone to a waiter shouldn't be offensive, but then again such world would be an utopia then.

    • @bluepapillon9058
      @bluepapillon9058 3 года назад +1

      @@mesuper240 By no means I am pointing that there is offence being in any profession. All I am saying why the wrong pronunciation and misuse of words are shown to be spoken by someone whom we already consider that they speak wrong English. Instead this could have been a conversation between two friends talking about food or a chef discussing food with his apprentices. I have seen his several other videos where he shares so many good concepts, some of them even I wasn't aware of. So I know he is doing good work helping others learn but I just didn't like this set up that's all. Learning any language should always be appreciated but mocking others who speak it may be differently or even wrong doesn't seem right, and again that's is my point of view. Hope I make sense this time🙂

      @The English Nut The English lessons shared are wonderful . However, i wish, the body language (the precious one) had conveyed a little more respect towards the person offering service.
      The non- verbals almost look as if they attempt to delegitimise the very existence of that human.
      I see that these videos are being made with a good intention... this particular one, though, may make one want to learn the nuances of pronunciations, not with the motivation to explore the beauty of the language but because of the fear of social rejection.
