Brandy does the same thing. Layering and stacking. And it’s so beautiful. Amerie and Brandy have both mastered that skill so effortlessly. They both are the true definitions of artists and architects. They study the craft and they are music and production masters!!!
I love love love her. She has always been unique and in a lane of her own. So beautiful and talented. True intelligence and talent. Thank God for art and artists.
2 things to say. The first goes without saying, but imma say it anyway. This woman is lawdy fine 😍 The other thing is, her 'Because I Love It' album is ridiculous and stays in heavy rotation, even today!
Chaka's background vocals are legendary and can't be duplicated. I've always said that her harmonies with herself are set apart from anyone. Hard to articulate, but I agree with you. Chaka is the best!
Yeah her harmonic sensibility is totally approachable, but also her layered chordal approach is kinda avant garde. Also… It just so happens, she’s responsible for one of the top 10 best singles of all time. (Opinion)
@ArtTheSinger idk America like that, so idk if she does, but unless you play instruments, compose instrumentals eith ur instruments and write lyrics your not a 'true artist'
He mentions the “boom-bip” in K-pop arriving nowadays but that’s been around since early-mid 2010s. I’d know b/c I produced tracks like this for ‘K’ artists like Dean & Crush.
Met her 20 years ago as a kid..took a pic with her..she was very kind and smelled great
Amerie is the first artist I had a hard time singing her songs because I didn't know if I want to sing the lead or the backgrounds
She was layering her vocal arrangements. Music is science AND magic! Love it!!

Angel in Disguise is such a beautiful example of Brandy's layering ability.

I swear she's my 2002 crush and beyond!! We need her back in music!

Shoutout to Chaka Khan for being one of the firsts to do backgrounds in a beautiful way as well
Great observation!

Exactly what single would that be?
@ 1 Thing
Loved this. Taking and giving seriously humble approaches to your art is what i hear Amerie placing values in
We need justice for this album and vinyl release 😀
AMERIE IS ONE ☝🏾 OF THE MOST SLEPT 🛏️ ON ARTIST OF THE EARLY 2000’s AND SHE CAN ACTUALLY SING 🎤 🎶 UNLIKE A FEW ARTISTS WHO HAD MORE SUCCESS
I love her ❤
Legends ❤
Brandy aka B-Rocka background vocals are Ridiculous (In a good way) 🔥 🔥
How would she do Tiny Desk?
She’s not an artist. She’s an architect.
She’s a true Artist.

*amerie not America lol
very interesting
No offence, but this guy takes forever to get to his point omg 😅
Young artist don’t have this level of expertise in their approach to music
And we see why she was a "challenge" to music. I "see" her creative process.
