i also found it helpful to file/sand the sharp edge off the top washer so it won't dig/cut in

so far I wasnt ever happy with stock bushings, but mostly because they usually are way too soft.
I'm 6.2 and 170 pounds, indy stock bushings are waaaaay too soft for me, I got instant wheelbite just by standing on the board and leaning a bit.
the 92A version are fine though, gotta tighten the kingpin nut a bit, but nothing crazy.
with 94A I have the nut almost at the upper end of the rubber ring.
I also found that the shape of the bushing does make a huge difference: double conical bushings (so top and bottom conical shape) turn alot more and provide much less stability.
and barrel/cone combo is just the opposite.
so if you want a more stable truck, it makes sense to take a barrel bottom bushing, as that makes a bigger difference, than hardness, to a degree at least.
and vice versa, get a conical bottom bushing, if you want more turn.
lately I've been trying combinations like a 96A indy bottom bushing and an 88A cone top bushing.
the bottom bushing is always more impactful, but that actually made the turn really nice, whereas before with both being 96A the turn was just too rigid.
anyway, those are my experiences, maybe they can help somebody.
    good shredding everyone.

Indy's stock bushings are awesome, if you can just not touch the axle nut, screw your trucks onto your deck, and be patient enough to carve around bowls and the streets and do low to minimal impact stuff for the next week or two. Lots of skating, lots of carving, lots of patience. Next thing you know, they are the best bushings ever and you'll want to switch them over when your trucks are dead the next year or so! Great video, man! Thanks for that! 👍

Totally agree and I’m not a fan of Indy’s personally. I will say their bushing never blew out like thunder’s which I prefer over Indy

I use the hardest Doh-Doh’s because I’m a big guy. I have to use a regular washer and the rounded top washer upside down so I can crank my trucks down without digging into the bushings. Doh-Doh’s will shave off and tear up a little at first as they break in because I ride so tight but they work just fine and last a while and have never fully split apart.

Just setup my first board in almost 10 years, the stock bushings in my new Venture HI 5.8's were wayyy too stiff off the bat. Just threw in some super soft 88 Doh-Doh's and they're a huge step up from stock, well worth it. And front boards are terrifying, keep it up!

i like mini logo bushings, they remind me of '90s doh-dohs. i found them too stiff with both, so i used mini logo tops and indy bottoms

I think it's important to include your bodyweight, and what kinda bushings do you skate nowadays 💪🤘

thanks for making this video i personally love the red doh doh's but im way heavier than you and they do tear up a bit but i got them cuz i liked how you described them in this video and so far they are my favorite bushings
i ordered some white doh dohs to try and those might be better for my weight because they are harder but again thanks for this video this is like the best bushings comparison on youtube

I think most people have a preconceived notion of how they think their bushings/trucks should feel when they step on their deck.
This is why they think stock bushings suck. They think some bushings break in in a day or 2, but they don't. They take a while...at least a week or 2.
I've skated quite a bit if different bushings. And except for Tensor's generic bushings on their $20 "alloys" all branded truck stock bushings are good if not great.
Thunder bushings feel broken in from the start and are limited by the stock washers.
Krux bushings are excellent right off the bat and perfect for their geometry.
Mini Logo bushings are on the harder side but have good rebound.
Bones uses the plastic insert to make softer bushings feel harder.
    They're good but delicate.
But so far the best bushings I've come across are ACE...
They're bushings have a linear compression that is buttery smooth and their road side cone has amazing rebound. Better than any other bushings I've cone across.
But if you're really light weight they may be too springy for you.

Nice rundown. Have you tried Riptide bushings by chance? If so, penny for your thoughts? Thanks

seems like harder bushings suit you better, especially since you look like a tall dude.
