Love the new bike mate, looks and sounds great. You certainly seemed a little happier, particularly in the right wrist area 😜. I always watch your videos up on my big screen while I'm making dinner, and there's some crispy clear vision in this one.
Congrats on the new bike. I went from Dr 650 to the 660 Tuareg. 80hp with killer suspension out of the box did it for me. I dare say a drz will be on the list in a few years.
As long as you are happy with the bike thats all that matters, looks like that would have been an excellent day out on the bikes. Thanks mate ride safe. 😊
Love the drz Phil! Tossed up between one of them and the dr650 in 2020 and the Tanami pack swayed onto the Dr. No regets as I do long highway miles some times and don't tend to do single track stuff. All the companies spending big dollars on developing mid size bikes and Suzuki has been here all along! Update them with a 6 speed and efi please!
Cheers John! I did miss my 650. Loved the little Rally - 17,000 kays of super fun adventures. It's hard to pass up torque and raw power, the DR's are pretty bloody impressive machines! The DRZ's or off the Suzuki website, so either no longer available in Aus soon, or (very optimistic thought) they are revamping them as the true do everything ADV bike they could be. Time will tell...
Great video mate, looks awesome riding in that area. I don't think you will be disappointed in the DRZ, I have a 21 model and ride in the Wattagen Mts and it loves it.
Mate, looks like you’re loving the drz. Brings out a little bit of younger holigan in the rider I reckon😅think you’ve made a fantastic choice Phil great vid👍
A nice day and good mates. What more could you ask for to test out a new bike Phil. I've seen a few videos where the DRz400 has stalled in creek crossings. Seems like the carby breather hangs low on them so it might pay to get it up higher if it hasn't already been done.
The quest continues... but not for any great distance until you put that extra tank on 😁 Lost count of your bikes Phil - be interesting to see how long you keep this one! Does it have highway legs?
Hi David. Definitely needs that 17 litre tank put on asap...lol As for the Hwy, 90 kph is the sweet spot with the current gearing, so ok for me, not ideal for most I'd say.
Cheers mate! 1130 kays on the clock, so the first service off brand new...lol Definitely a taller bike - I have long legs so all good. There are lowering links, and another option is a lower seat (like I have). Pretty bloody impressed with the power to weight ration!
@@MidCoastAdventures I've just got the new CF Moto 450MT. Loving it so far, only done 300ks atm and I'm an off road novice so I'm very green and new to it.
Hi mate great vids. I have the same helmet and was wondering if you have a link for the chin mount? I have a go pro I’d like to mount there but looks like a tricky spot to mount one. Cheers 🍻
Cheers Scott 👍 Well, my chin mount gopro strap is pretty lousy, so I wouldn't recommend it. I'd look at the ones that stick to the helmet around the chin area. Cheers 👍
Thanks for posting another excellent vid. New bike WOW ! It’s s always a magic moment. 👍🏽 I’ve yet to do any beach riding. How do you look after the chain? My bike is a Honda CB500X ( 2020 model 19” front wheel running Mitas EO7+ tyres) Do you reckon a bike like mine would be OK on the beach ?
Hi Sean, thanks mate, appreciate the kind words👍 As for the chain, first off, don't ride in the saltwater, second pre-spray it with a non stick type lubricant, and give the entire bike a good hose down once home. Then WD spray on any metal bits. The CBX would be fine on a beach, just expect some hardship getting on and off if the access points are chewed out or step. Low tide only first time. And go with a mate. Cheers 🍻
@@MidCoastAdventures Thanks' heaps for the good tips on how to look after a chain in the sand. Very much appreciated! I will definitely have to find someone who's up to tagging along with me on my first beach ride. Probably someone comfortable helping me lift a 200KG plus bike up of the deck! 😀
saw you honda for sale on marketplace - and now see that you did buy the suzuki - are they still 5 speed? - considering a new himalayan myself - although did ride a crf rally the other day - i think i'm a bit too big and heavy at 115kg+ - will look at price and specs of the drz - looks like an enjoyable first ride
Hi mate. Still a 5 speed box in the Suzuki's. Quite a tall bike too if you're under 5.10 or so. And yeah, the CRF 300"s would be pretty bouncy and struggle a bit if you're 115 kg. I'd seriously look into the 450 Himalayan 👍
Ride Map in the Description Box. Consider supporting the Channel - www.buymeacoffee.com/philbennettmca - Cheers guys 😎👍
Glad to see you on a Suzuki DR Zed! It is the Unicorn!
I'm loving it, Roy 😎👍
Congratulations of a new bike ! thanks for a video. I enjoy mine 400 E 2007.in Poland. Greetings, MQ
Thanks mate! They're great machines hey👍
Thanks, heaps for the map link. Always fantastic when a video blogger takes the time to do so.👍
No problems Sean 👍
Great video good to see your happy with the DRZ awesome bike cheers Phil 👍👍
Thanks Johnny 😎👍 Its blown me away in many ways mate - very impressive machine!
back to the future nate,, good old dzr you carnt go wrong
Loved the video mate. Looking forward to the DRZ400 adventures.

Nice bike Phil!! Should have a few bloody good adventures on that beast😎
Not a bad spot to cook up a snag or two either!
Cheers mate!🍻
Cheers Sam! Mate, it's a beast to ride - so much grunt 😎. Catch ya mate 👍

Was such a good day, and with good company too. Catch ya mate 🍻
It's always a good day with a new toy.....looking forward to seeing it in the bush. Garth

Good vid Phil , im sure the 400 will suit you well , ive had my DRZ for over 10 years , safe riding cheers Greg 👍
Thanks Greg 👍 I'm pretty damned impressed with it in so many ways. Few more mods to come to refine things a little more. But wow so far 👍

Great video. Good looking bike, will take you on many more adventures. Looking forward to seeing them.
Great Video as always love the new bike.
Good to see you back on a Suzuki mate 👍
Great video, love the bike!
Ah thanks Amanda! It's a pretty cool machine to ride 😎👍

Nice video mate and congrats on the new bike. Is it brand new or just new to you. I was looking at a DRZ but the seat height is far to high for me.

HI Phill , loved it .but it seemed your vid in parts looked to be higher definition , is that my imagination ?
Cheers Tod, and very observant! Yeah, changed one of the Gopro's to 4 K / 60 fps. Catch ya mate 🍻

Hi Phill, has the new bike caused you discomfort due to its compression ratio and lack of a cushioned hub on the rear wheel
Hi Trevor, nah mate, seems smooth at take off to me 👍
Choice. Possibly getting bored with my DR650. Feels heavy.
The DRZ is 138 kg stock with fuel, virtually the same grunt as the DR. Definitely a sporty feel to them 👍
Cover your speedo on the beach, lol. Sounds good though.
50 kph seems much faster on the beach... 😅
@@MidCoastAdventures You were only doing 40 I thought!
60 km limit on the beach ... 63 was the highest speed seen , no need to cover anything except the clutch 😊
I thought it was 40km/h for some reason.
drz awesome bike just shithouse on the highway as 80kmh its revving its nuts off even with sprocket change--- hope you enjoy
Seems ok on the Hwy, though this one has a larger front sproket. I only sit on 90 kay anyway...lol Cheer mate 👍
@@MidCoastAdventures great buddy--- the dr650 is way better on the highway--but if most of your riding is dirt--the drz is hard to beat
