I admire Ten Lee for having a MINIMALISTIC but very ARTISTIC approach in the visuals for his debut. No gimmicks are needed for a PERFORMANCE VIRTUOSO. He will get your attention once you look his way and he will definitely leave you enthralled
Ten's solo hit hard without relying on over-the-top adornment. Not many artists can have such presence in the absence of an obviously big budget, but Ten had like two locations for the MV, a third if you count the performance video, no CGI, and his styling was very approachable. Despite all that, I was mesmerized and completely sucked into his performance. No skip album! Keep streaming, y'all!
I totally agree! I noticed how unlike other idols, with or without all the frills he has the ability to grab and maintain people's attention when he's performing. His artistry is just overflowing that he doesn't need a "crutch" to deliver a great performance. Big budget and all those fancy stuff are okay but sometimes I get this feeling that some idols rely on things like oversaturated colors, "peacock" outfits, noise, loudness, outrageous stuff, just to grab attention. Those are okay in moderation but how about things like poise, refinement and subtlety? TEN definitely has refined aesthetics.
@@arien_000 Yah! Although I'm sure we can agree that the budget and flashiness of MVs are ultimately up to the label. And despite that, Ten made a big impact through his skill alone! Omg like his voice when he sang "Holy story" I think my soul left my body. And the dance break? Shut upppp! So good. I initially was upset SM didn't give him a HUGE budget for a solo debut, but looking back, I'm glad he got to check off what he wanted to do for this body of work. It's more meaningful that way that the team respected his wishes of a simple approach :DDD

And I love and respect that a lot cuz whatever he makes out of his career, you know it REAL and ORGANIC and not just ARTIFICIAL FLUFF created by the power of a label's ability to package and promote their artists. I mean I could only imagine him performing Nightwalker in MAMA and it would totally put other more popular idols (who people believe to be the best dancers and performers) in an awkward situation cuz they will really pale in comparison to a guy who's barely seen in mainstream kpop.

But thats how he created the magic. With no eyebrows and missing biologist headline got people into the story, the music hypnotising, then DAMN TEN ACTING with vocals. The alter egos, yet not very flashy but mysterious. The parking lot tubelight on and off (if it was another artist it would have been cgi) but the simplicity made it more intriguing , creepy with up beat music and ten's smile, and sudden tutting. The Mv was literally about focus on ten, focus on character, story , with vocals dance. That makes you forget every thing, like budget etc.
Yeah, I really feel the same about TEN - that he has this very STRONG and SOLID CORE that's hidden behind a very FLUID and AMORPHOUS EXTERIOR. He's a really fascinating human being!

Ten being a solo artist is the best thing! I love all the members in Wayv but having to see Ten singing in English and dance like only Ten can do is so good. His performance is pure art.
I really enjoy the way the album spans genres and gives a little bit of everything, because all the songs he's released so far have been so varied. It represents him well, and it makes it easy to have on repeat (which I have for the past week!)

“People focus on your clothes, not you.” That is so very true. One of the first things I noticed when my daughter showed me a Kpop video I told her,” Those boys have amazing clothes and style. Who are the?” So I have to 100% agree. I told her,” I wish more young men down here dressed that nice.”

Watching this right after coming back from Seoul and seeing Ten at the Fan-Con both nights - I am so proud of him! The album is a masterpiece, Nightwalker is an addiction and the fan-con was an out of the world experience! I am so grateful I can support him either from far in the UK but also in person whenever there is a chance and I am so happy I can experience him growing into even a better artist and man as the years go by. Love you from the bottom of my heart! You are the best, TEN LEE!🥰
