- do you believe in the clear house, clear mind mentality?! cause for me... it's everything. like making my bed first thing in the morning makes my space feel put together which makes me feel ready for the day. welllllll I've been living in a cluttered house for MONTHS now and I'm sick of it. so today we're doing a big reset for 2023 and decluttering my home. come clean with me!

As an artist who works with traditional mediums, I HAVE to clear off my workspace after every sitting. Otherwise I won’t want to create anything else 😅
I have come to realize that decluttered spaces is the KEY to my sanity 😅 I take it everywhere I go and I’m constantly decluttering and consolidating things at work and just anywhere I can. I can relate to ALL those exhales of just pure happiness when you realize the space you have and that now you can get excited about doing other stuff! You did it! It’s a great feeling and I’m so proud of you because the hardest part is just starting! 🔥

First, thank you for showing your house messy!! It was so nice to see that not every RUclipsr/Influencer is super pristine all the time 😆 Second, you can TOTALLY do the trim yourself! My husband and I did it on our last house and it was so easy! All you need is the trim, a miter saw, an air compressor with a nail gun, spackle to cover the nails after, and paint. That's it! (you may or may not need to rent some of those tools if you don't have them yourself)
A decluttered home is definitely a happier home! My mind doesn’t work when I’m visually distracted my clutter! I’ve let it get cluttered the past week with dog stuff, hopefully tonight is a declutter day too
Love it Cathrin! Totally agree with the clutter phrase. I cannot think straight and it causes so much anxiety and puts you in a depressed state when things are messy and out of control 🙃

I'm moving into a new house this year (Manifesting that!) and to prepare my husband and I have gone through all of our closets and clothes. Donated two car loads of stuff and feel so much lighter after that!! Happy to be decluttering and cleaning up the place 💖

Watching you (and other channels) tidy up, organize and do house projects really inspires me. Thank you for showing yourself doing this stuff. I actually have always been very organized and LOVE organizing, but I'm 55 yo and life got hard for me several years ago and I lost my energy to do much outside of just going to work and baseline functioning. My house was so pretty but now it actually looks way worse than yours. It's a tiny bungalow, 1250 sq. ft. so not much space but I started prepping about 4 years ago and over the course of the next year got so much stuff before I realized how I was going to organize it all. Oopsie! I ran out of space so it's stacked up EVERYWHERE! THEN, I got mice and rats at the same time last winter and haven't fully gotten rid of them so now I'm dealing with them hiding in all my stuff. Fortunately I kept them out of my bedroom (my sacred space which I manage to keep pretty tidy) but the rest of the house is so overwhelming that I often just ignore it and do something else.
But the last few months I've been finally getting my shit together (1.5 years later, lol) and doing at least ONE thing every day and it's SLOOOOWLY getting better. As I wash every dish in my house, I store them in storage bins to keep mice/rat germs from getting to them until I can finish catching them all. Some days I do a lot, some days just my one thing. And I've made good progress but my house still looks worse than yours. So don't feel bad. I have decided that as long as I make progress, any progress, every day, or almost every day (everyone's allowed to have a bad day once in a while) then that's good enough. I go easy on myself and know it will eventually be a pretty home again like it used to be. 💞 It used to be so pretty! 💞 One day again...

Cathrin.... My 1st goal this year has been to declutter our home. With 2 littles in the house, the constant visual chaos of clutter is maddening and drives me wild 🤯. I have donated 7 bags of stuff so far and it feels GREAT. 🙌 Wholeheartedly believe that a clean home equals a calmer mind!! One space at a time!

I can so relate to this, because I am such an organized person! If something is not where it belongs, it drives me crazy! I’ve never been diagnosed with OCD, but I would not be surprised if I have at least a mild case of it because of that. I’m very happy to see your place clean and that you’re much happier. Feel for you on the clear house clear mind mentality. This is an example of why I don't think I could live through a reno. Even just building our house I made myself nuts with all the questions I had. Truth be told the developer was happy when my company sent me to Afghanistan for a few weeks so I could not ask any more questions :)
here's some silly advice, this is what I did: buy a sink drainer for this dishes and use one side of the sink. That way u have more counter space 😊😊

I had cluttered in my house I cleaned it up but I have kids they bring home paperwork and I get junk mail so I piled up and prevented me from using other things so its a never ending issue. Relax and take the one moment at a time.
Great and timely content. My best friend died in early December. All his stuff has landed in my one bedroom apartment. So sorting and decluttering has been on my mind lately. This video inspired me to get going.

We moved in February last year and have also been living in a bit of a crazy renovation zone...justifying it to ourselves for the same reason. But then we decided to host a new years party this year and it forced us to clean up the house and I'm kicking myself for not cleaning the house earlier. Like it just feels so good to be in a house that feels like you live in it....not a construction site. Congrats on making your house back into a home :)

I can relate so much, I have postponed fixing my house for months now and the situation annoys the hell out of me! But there's always something that has priority. At this stage I think I will leave it for spring time, it's too cold in England at the moment ha,ha! Your kitchen is huge, you could organise a wedding in your house! Well is you ever re-marry you won't need to rent a place for sure! xx

Your "construction zone" looks like my most organized home LOL (living in between 2 apartments now, and also in a smaller space)- so give yourself some credit. You're not as disorganized as you may think
I clean homes for a living but my own home needs me so bad but it's hard being me as the professional at my own home with other humans who do not respect or appreciate my hard work.... but I need to get my shit together too! Thanks for the motivation❤️

Glad I'm not the only one trying to get their shit together. I had to put my sweet boy to sleep last Saturday after rescuing him 9.5 years ago and I just feel like I'm underwater if that makes sense? Is your dishwasher not installed yet? Thanks you for the videos they make me feel better.

Dog trainer here, and not sure if you actually check your comments or not, but if you are feeding a high quality dog food, you typically don’t need a separate puppy food.
(Also, I have a list from a holistic vet that rates all the basic dog food brands on a scale of A-F and if your brand is not on there, it tells you how you rate any type of pet food. Lmk if you’d like a copy)

If you can afford that house, then you can afford a storage unit. Move all that crap to a storage unit until you need it. Then clean and polish your house to perfection. Once your house is showroom perfect, visit the storage unit every so often to see what you might need to bring back home.
