Board Games Toronto yay! So glad to hear. And same. It’s kinda scary how many games I have under my belt 😂 always more to learn! Thanks for watching and enjoying!
I enjoy this kind of online play through. Suggestion: If it is not too much of a hassle, you might want to edit out some of the downtime (when opponent was thinking about their move)
Really enjoy the content, I agree with Kristian's idea but may I suggest to just add timestamps on youtube for your turns? that'll save you the editing time I think :)
I like the commentary about table talk and its relationship with this game. What you said about how people may learn to play the game without it on digital. I have theorized that this is actually also the optimal way the game would be played in person as well. If all players always know what is in their best interest, there is no reason to listen to anyone else. If they lose as a result, learn and adapt!
Finished watching. Well played and well deserved victory! Can't wait to watch more of your streams! The attack at 3 o'clock fox at 31 minute mark was quite risky since that is the only location u could build that round and the cat could have had an ambush on top of sappers, forcing you to a potential turmoil if rolls aren't perfect. (But high risk high reward!) The VB should have really gone all out to turmoil you on his last round (especially that u only have single fox) because with Royal Claim and your board position, it's a guaranteed win if he doesn't stop u (I think he might have forgotten about Royal Claim), if he succeeded, he was also going to have access to favor cards in your decree for next turn win. But I don't think he could do it anyways because he's a bit too slow on crafting sword. That being said, I think the VB could still win on his round because he was sitting on 6 points of doable quests with 3 crafting points in hand (craft new hammer then use the new hammer to craft another item) With crap load of items to exhaust, he can feed 3 more cards for 3 more points for the win. (Using the wild crossbow as third card)
I'm still pretty new and don't understand the advantage to the turn 1 turmoil. Is this just to get rid of some cards in the decree that you don't like? Is it a psychological play, like oh he turmoiled turn 1, we should go easy on him for a little?
@@goodhorsehymn That would just drag out the game. I think what we are looking for are more grapsable victory conditions like the dominance victory gives us. If marquise would need like 10 buildings total to win then I could better imagine how they colonized the woods or if the birds could win by rebuilding their dynasty. I suppose they needed the abstract victory currency to allow for more diverse playstyles and to more easily integrate differently working factions. Just a guess.
@@LordoftheBoard I am so stupid... I just read the card of the leader... This game is so huge... I love it. All is good : the story, all the factions, the style of playing, and it is well written. I think i need a lot of time understanding all the rules. But man, this game is awesome.
I have a doubt, why in the first turn vagabond is allowed to spawn in a forest and also move, explore, etc. while cats or birds only choose their setups? Tnx in advance ^^
Lord of the Board ahhhh I gotcha. Wonder how much of this strat is stronger with lack of table talk. 12 recruits t1 and I’d be making alliances right away! 😂
Mike Dougherty it works very well! I run it with most plays and though players will feel threatened by the numbers, the scoring potential is roughly the same. 😊
Mike Dougherty and if you do get teamed early. Not much to stop you with the amount of birds you get right off the bat. 😂 it’s a fun one you should try
On your last turn, you could have just stepped into the clearing with sympathy for an uncontested fight. You made it a bit of risk by attacking somewhere with a defender.
@@LordoftheBoard Its been a really long time since you're last root video : \ I miss the games and strategies, they are the main reason I can crush my friend in root. Can you please post more? 🥺
After almost 200 games of ROOT, u sir, still managed to show me something cool and new!

Yes I definitely agree I should have cut more. It takes more time but I will certainly try :)
@@LordoftheBoard or add time stamps to your turns 😊

omg just got home after winning a game with this strategy vs some friends. First heard of it in your last digital root video and I'm in love
Yay!! Killing it. Well done

Very well thought out! :) always appreciate your input
Another video I couldn’t wait to pop into my feed! Thank you LOTB!
My pleasure!
Yes I love the play throughs I really hope I can watch all the next one.
P.S Barq’s I like your style ❤️
Glad you enjoy it! And barqs is the best fizzy bev
Congratulations on an amazing win!!
Thanks for watching!
27:10 Giving a rabbit enough training turns it into a mouse. :D
Really fun game. Please do more of this videos.
I will :)
@@LordoftheBoard Yes please do so! This will really help us big n00bs like me trying to get better at the game haha
Nice play. I love the Dynasties.
Same here! 💙
So I just had a thought...
What happens when you turmoil with all the birds, do they refresh or do you just not get them back or what happens?
You refresh them :)
Watching you has inspired me to play!
That’s my favorite news to hear!
I love online root. And I love Erie
So do I :)
I have a question, during your first round turmoil at 3:10 Wasn't it better to put 2 fox cards into the decree and save the bird card?
Yes. I wasn’t sure if I was going to go for that Fox Favor :)
You should do too many bones strategy guides, it’s a good fit for you. Asymmetric characters etc
Oh man... 2 many bones can be tricky. I have played it 1 time so far. Ill have to look into it again
Love the videos man. Anyone know when DLC is coming
The Elegy I know that the clockwork expansion will be coming next month sometime. And then the expansions will be after that!
Thank you so much for watching :)
Np thanks man! 🙂
Can you not dump two of the same suit in the degree at one turn? Otherwise why didn't you put two foxes in recruit so you could keep the blue card?
Haha because I made a mistake :)

It’s beneficial because you lose no points and start the game with 12 birds. 💕
This game always feels its ended before it really starts
Really? I have heard people feel that way before. Its certainly has a different pacing than most games. As first player to reach 30 immediately wins.
Yeah, I feel the same. Absolutely love it, but wish there was a way to either extend or knock points off opponents.

You had perfect hand if you keep your bird for Turn 2
Too scared of losing roosts if you ask me. But thanks for the turn-one-turmoil strategy.
He should have used 2 fox cards to recruit in the beginning.
Hey whats the name of the song in the first 10 minutes of the game?
Lemme find it!
I am new to the game. Why do you go to 6 to 11 warriors with only 3 cards on recruit in turn one ? Is it not 1 warrior per card in decree ?
I chose the charismatic leader. He doubles recruits :)

It was their turn first I believe! :) in turn order. But I could be wrong
Great video man!
Binging it and its cool.
Could you have saved a point by not using the bird card in your decree first turn?
I didn’t lose any points because I hadn’t gained any. So I only gained the large benefit of 6 birds on turn 1. It was intentional :)

My way was cooler 🔥
How were you able to recruit 6 birds in your first turn? Wouldn’t it be just 3?
Thier Leader let it recruit 2 birds a time
