Hey, been a OG GG fan for a while. I've explicitly love Frederick the most out of the cast. I know how he strong he is.
The thing about Raven however,
Is *he's actually immortal*. You can rip him apart, vaporize him [as seen from above], burn him alive.
None of that will work. He always comes back. And he fucking hates it.
You see that horn in his head. That's a damn _pike_ he tried staking into himself to see if that will kill him. That was CENTURIES ago.
Raven may not be the strongest character in the GG lore, I am *VERY* aware of this.
BUT, he cannot die no matter what, it seems. Sol can pulverize him to no end, but he'll just come back
Tl;dr
Immortality does not equal strength. Just because Raven can be seemingly killed an infinite number of times, does not mean he's extremely powerful. Read up on lore of other characters first before trying to argue.

I'm sorry. But why would I take some guy who thinks Robo-ky plays similarly to Ky seriously?
This guy just might be my new favorite guilty gear character and here the reasons why.
1. He another reason fictional characters with the name raven are badass. ( examples raven from dc comics and raven from tekken.)
2. This guy loves pain to the point he would turn himself into ash to get it.
3. Immortal characters are always badass (examples ban from seven deadly sins, hidan from naruto, and tusk from killer instinct.)
4. He the right hand man of that man

+Red Sparrow Lol. Am I lying? The guy does something I've seen out of Melty Blood. I'm more upset that they wasted a space on this loser and not use it on an interesting character like Robo-Ky or Zappa. It's an INSULT that this is considered a Guilty Gear character design.
There's even a poll that said he's one of the most brain dead characters in the game lol. An insult. Guilty Gear usually would toss out a character that's pretty complex by now. But these new characters have been half assed.

Yes, he seeks to feel pain as due to his immortality, he does not feel anything anymore.
He's an unapologetic huge masochist. Raven "died" around the 10th century and since then become immortal. Because he's immortal he grew tired of everything and the only time he can feels himself alive is through pain. This is why he's straight up screaming of pleasure while getting beat up and just uncontrolably smiling when blowing himself up cause he's having a blast and loving this.

Just read Overture short stories. Raven was a German knight and lived since the Crusades when he "died" during combat. That's when he found out he is immortal.

Guilty Gear has gotten too weird for me. I know mechanically it's about as tight as it gets but some of these new characters like Bedman are too bonkers.
I liked Justice. Raven, Bedmen, I mean they look stupid. Bedman is so fuckin weird and uninspired. Oh a guy on a bed...let's call him Bedman! And a chick in a old man robot WTFFFF

@@themaidenofroses1519 I don't know man. When I first played this game, I loved how unique the experience is. Now, it's just dedicated to a bunch of people who want it to be easier for the sake of winning, rather than gaining that same experience. When I look at Raven, I can't think of him as much of a Guilty Gear character, cause I see him as a character I'd see in every other anime fighter. Air knockdowns happen way more often, knockdowns happen way more often in general, the mixup game turns stale and a lot of the game has become hit confirming into a lot of things. I saw LostSouls struggle to do something I've done in way harder ways but with better results just because he played Elphelt. A character who completely doesn't remind me of a Guilty Gear character.
You'd have to play AC+R and actually learn it to know what I mean. There was bullshit in that game, but the bullshit in Xrd is far more direct. It's 0 surprise to me who's weak or who's too strong in that game. In XXAC+R, I'm sure it at least took them a while to figure out which ones were where. I remember the tier lists changing often enough.

I think I had a harder time learning how to jack off compared to learning Raven.
