Man I was waiting for Mr.A to fight the best 'normal' dungeon boss battle in all of Zelda. Love seeing other people enjoy doing thing like this a lot.
If you asked if the spider thread was a metaphor, this temple is themed around Buddhism. The spiders thread is a story about how a man named Kandata was a ruthless criminal in the underworld, but Buddha remembered one good deed of Kandata; he was about to step on a spider in the woods while taking a stroll to steal from a man there in the woods. However, he decided not to kill the spider since it was too evil to kill something that small. Buddha took a golden thread a spider weaved from nearby and lowered it into the underworld from a pool of water where he saw Kandata. Buddha wanted to grant him a chance out of the underworld, so Kandata saw the thread and started to climb it, hoping for freedom. When he looked down, however, a few other bad souls were also trying to climb the thread, but he turned selfish and tried to kick the others off the thread. With the amount of force he used, it snapped and he fell back into the underworld.
I’m not a religious person, but I think that’s quite the cool story.

This dungeon is designed to be like heaven and hell. The bright above ground, and the dark under. There's a Buddhist story about lowering a spider's thread from heaven to hell to save somebody, but the thread snapped when too many tried to use it.
Also cursed bokoblins fear the goddess shield in any form. If you block with it, they cower and won't attack.
Speedrun strat for Koloktos is to use the whip to pull off one arm, pick up the sword, and remove his legs in one cycle. Pretty easy to do if you think to try it.
Also, horizontal swings are faster than vertical with the big sword.
Here's a challenge for you Mr A Game:
Go into Master Mode Hyrule castle (fresh save) with unupgraded Hylian armor, 3-6 hearts, one stamina wheel, you only bring a torch. Your mission is to survive for 3 in-game days within the confines of the castle, and take pictures of all the different creatures within, and defeat them. You can only use the hot spring twice, and you can use anything within the castle walls, including the Hylian Shield. Also, no Calamity Ganon. A secondary goal is to collect the royal guard gear including weapons and armor.
I call it the Castle Survival Safari.
IMPORTANT: No hiding around or staying in one place for too long. Mini bosses are included with the creatures you must photograph and kill. You must also find 3 koroks

I love how you get to see the sword grow-
Since Skyward is technically the first in the timeline of Links and Zeldas, you get to see the sword grow INTO the Master Sword instead of you pulling a Master Sword like in Ocarina of Time and etc. I LOVE this detail.
I also love that technically in the later games such as BOTW, and etc, Fi is technically still in that sword. She just awaits a new master, just like her first Link. She may not be our companion like in this game, but she will always be awaiting in the sword for generations of Links to come.
