and it saved the interview. Tyson still has demons and hates to be demeaned or disrespected by people who don't understand. By saying it was a nervous laugh, Tyson dismissed it as a mannerism. Tyson has grown enough to realize that some people are just not cut from the same cloth, but has learned they still have value. It has enlightened him very much and you can tell in the way he acts now vs 20 years ago

He was very honest saying “At that time in my life it wasn’t good enough.” I remember him doing some terrible things to his opponents and the woman in his life. Even then he seemed genuinely remorseful for doing them, afterward. He seems to be in a much better place in his mind and emotionally. I respect him for still being honest about it.

I can tell by the way Tyson talks about fighting and his childhood that he is not a vicious killer. Mike was forced to fight as a survival mechanism, but he never enjoyed it. He did it so viciously in order to prevent any possible retaliation against him. He didn't want to fight, but he wanted to survive. When he says "it wasn't good enough", what he means is that he left something on the table that may lead his opponent into wanting a rematch against him. People just think that Tyson is a ruthless savage, but don't understand that his survival mentality is the driving force being his apparent rage. I hope he's found peace he's always wanted.

Mike's appearances on Conan are some of the most hilarious non-scripted affairs I've ever seen. He has wonderful comedic timing if allowed to flex those abilities. The one where he tells the story of the cops taking him to buy cocaine, and the Brad Pitt anecdote are simply epic. I personally feel that Mike takes these dark turns regarding certain questions, in large part, due to constantly being asked the same things.
