Does anyone have a good resource for intermediate/ expert level installations? I'm trying to learn how to integrate access control with ada openers and have had no luck. I have a pretty good idea of relay theory and inputs/ dry and wet contacts but i can't seem to verify what i think i know.

Relay output to the opener and call it a day? Have the opener buttons go back to the controller instead of the door operator

wow looks so unprofessional.. Outerdoors without pin verification???!! Thats a big no no. If one of the users loose their card whoever can just walk straight in. Always have pin verification on outerdoors specially outside opening hours

That's silly. The same goes for any other type of key. If you lose your house key someone can use that to get into your house. Do you have 2FA to get into your home? No. Dumb.

Depends on the level of security you need. Not everyone needs card and pin. In fact it is probably is way less than 5% of all card access installed. Card and pin are not the only way for dual layer access. Bio, Facial, Retinal are a few other secondary layers. Those cannot be duplicated, however a pin can be overseen or given out. It is Access Control. You can disable the credential if lost and replace with a new one without disturbing the rest of the system users. Its about tailoring where and when people have access, audit reports and a whole lot more. If you are talking dual authentication access on any door, pin is the weakest secondary means. Not saying its bad. This video is covering the basics.
