so nice to see reptiles kept properly with loads of space. All my animals are in the maximum space i can provide. If i dont have decent space i dont get the animal
For my birthday this year I have requested a 1500 litre stock tank for my 8 year old northern yellow faced turtle. I have pumps/filters and everything waiting to go!! She’ll be happy to be out of her 5ft x 1.5ft aquarium. She is native to my area so I’m excited to make her new home as “nature identical” as possible. Im already able to feed her the native plants and crustaceans she’d typically eat in the wild so for her house to be more natural will be good. Her 1.5 year old little brother (adopted!!!lol) will also be happy to upgrade to her old tank from his 3 footer.
Your turtle room is stunning, the enclosures even more so! It's such a nice change of pace to see turtles and tortoises cared for correctly on youtube. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work!
I can’t wait to build a new enclosure for my terrapins in a month or so! Been looking for inspiration videos and this has inspired some ideas! They are getting big now so will defo need to move out of their tank but I’ve always wanted to give them a huge living space so I’m so excited !!!
Just thought I should let you know , my dog got hold of 1 of my lellow belly hatcling and punctured its lateral scute I could c the muscle and organs so I carefully got a pin and had to place it between the scute and the tissue underneath and pop it back out after doing sow in applied a layer of super glue around the damaged scut waitid 15 mins then put him back in his tank, hese made a full recovery. It has stunted his growth
Loving the setups, especially the heavy tannins. I keep almost all my aquatics on the semi to very acidic side, depending on species. It's made a real difference.
Anthony, getting some good ideas from your videos! Thanks for sharing. I am setting up a Cuora amboinensis and I am using a LDPE stock tub to do it. What kind of heater would you recommend for a plastic tub as opposed to an aquarium?
Hi, I love your setup. I have one Mississippi Map turtle at the moment because the house is too small for more than one tank xD. Have you found that your turtles like one type of food more than another?
Anthony, for the Chinese box turtle tub, you have a heater in the water or is it room temperature? Does the Chinese box turtle need some substrate area?
Nathan le with red eared sliders they love to swim if you have 50 dollars you can buy a cheap stock tank or a storage ben. The deeper the water the better really cause they are very good swimmers, i tested it out with mine, i had two sides of people telling me dont keep them in deep water and then another side saying keep them in it. So i tested it out n sure enough they are doing great i have A 5 inch and 6 inch red eared slider both doing great and loveing there 40 gallon tank ima upgrade soon to a 150 gallon stock tank.
Looks good. Would like to know the latin names of the turtles. Other then Geoemyda spengleri, G. japonica, Cuora flavomarginata and Pyxis arachnoides. The European pond turtle is probably the Emys orbicularis
What a great job! I realny appreciate Your effort and passion, I love 🐢 especially European pond turtle as I'm from Poland and I live pretty close to their disappearing natural habitat. I'd love to breed them and release them into their natural environment. Keep up with your great work.
Unfortunately it's illegal for me to breed them and release hatchlings into the wild. Only zoos and national parks can do this. Yes this species is special cold tolerance, it can live without food forever and it lives so long... Great adaptation for Western European countries like Poland where you can have several summers too cold for successful hatching, but than a good few years with Mediterranean summer to replenish population.
best portrait of a turtle eva!!! 1:19. I been trying to get good images of my baby but she keeps swimming away when she sees me with my camera. How did you get that shot?
yea i can but she knows the camera i will be right up against the glass and she will be looking right back at me (begging for food...lol) but as soon as i get the camera she is off maybe she just needs to get older but i kinda want baby pictures too.
cool i do giver her greens and she loves it she eats almost one large leaf a day (and poops to prove it lol) i wanted to go to the store and get her some crickets but im not too sure if they will be too big for her she is only a few months old, but i saw her the other day chase after a little bug that was on the tank so i figured she must want to hunt. They say i should have it gut loaded or dusted what does that mean???
Where do you get the large tubs and I have a yellow bellied slider I caught in the wild (I'm from Alabama) he was in my pond and I've kept him since he was 3 inches and I have another one I bought (which looks like another male) and my friend has two older females and were thinking about breeding them and I need a bigger tank there now in a 29 gallon and he's probably 7 inches
I have a 27 gallon aquarim, I got very few fish and 6 shrimps atm. How could I setup to get some turtles and what turtle do you recommend to get. I want turtles that like to swim and/or need a baskingplace
We have 3 RES and 1 painted in a 90 gal tank. We have a problem with our filtration getting clogged by food. It seems stressful on some of the turtles to be handled to use a feeding tank. I noticed that there has been some pink ectoplasm looking stuff that has been growing in the tank. Also I noticed big globs of something funky when I go to vacuum the tank (to get rid of the pink stuff). Any idea what the pink stuff? Two of the RES are female, one RES and the painted are males.
Hello, I have a 3 year old yellow bellied slider in quite a large aquarium that will be a nice home for her for another one or maybe even two years, but recently I decided I'd like to get another one (or more later on) because I love turtles and would love to make a hobbie out of taking care of them just like you. I would like to hear the opinion of someone with more experience than me because I don't want to mess things up or upset the lives of those poor animals. First of all, I'm a bit scared of putting the future new turtle together with my present one Steve in the same tank, because although it's big enough for him, I think it isn't enough for two because I'm afraid they would fight due to the small space, territory instincts and the size diference between them (yeah, I thought I'd be best to get a little one since it might be better than introducing a large turtle at least as a first companion, idk, perhaps by being a less intimidating creature and it wouldn't that much of a shock for a turtle that lived alone for almost her whole life). I thought Steve might still attack the baby if they lived together, even though he isn't violent, and quite cowardly actually, but I don't feel safe risking it so... my idea was to get the new turtle and put her in a seperate smaller aquarium for a year or so, but keep both of them close so they get used to eachother's existence you know? and buy a large black plastic tank and have them live there together with more space and privacy in a one/two years time from now, when the baby had also grown a bit more. My other issue is the fact that that tank might have to stay outdoors during the whole year (I may find a way of bringing it in but it'll be pretty inconvinient since I live with my parents and I'd like to interfere the least bit possible in their lives xD) and am afraid it will be harsh for the turtles to indure the cold since I hear hibernating can be dangerous. I live in coastal Portugal and in winter time tempretures go down to around 2ºC /35F maximum, but I have seen so many turtles living outdoors in ponds, is it an exageration to say they'll be in danger, or will they be really? they would live pretty protected from wind, I believe, because I was thinking of covering the tank parcially and it'd be placed in my bedroom's reasonably large balcony (which means surrounded by walls). Basically I want to know what would be the best aproach towards the turtle gathering, if the seperate aquarium and later on tank idea is the best, and if it would be ok to keep them outside. Thank you anyway!
Is the medium water land tub worth the 300 dollars? I have 3 eastern painted, 1 young common snapper, 1 northern musk and 1 spiny softshell. I need an easy and affordable enclosure for them.
Im planning on getting a turtle. Can you give me tips on how to set up there lights and where to put them. Im getting a red eared slider and planning on making part of the tank aquatic and the other one on land.
Hey can you tell me what those large black plastic looking containers are that you keep your turtles in? And also where could you purchase one of these. Thanks.
I am dealing with a rescue Ambo. Don't have a tank heater for her yet. Is it ok to keep them on land with regular soakings until I can get a tank heater? I know they are aquatic species but I also want to have good temps for him. This came on quick but she seems healthy.
That's ok. I appreciate that you guys answer questions. Good so far. Keeping ambients at 78-82 and water shallow and clean. Water around 74-78, this guy seems fine.
just a simple tetra submersible. I keep the water in the tub about midway up his shell for right now. This one seems healthy but I am talking to others working with them now and they say the temp is important
I really like your setup and appreciate your dedication and hard work. Would you be interested in working together over a long distance conservation effort?
This video was absolutely amazing! I loved it! 😊 Can you please tell me what the ideal temperature should be for baby red eared sliders? Also what food should be given to the baby red eared slider turtles? Please Reply ^-^ Thanks. - A big fan 🐢
Nice to see the turtles in a good habitat and enough room to swim an grow in. So cool hate to see these guys in so small an aquarium, especially the sliders. Musks are ok which i got but seen too many undersized places for turtles.
My mom is scared that I'll get salmonella. Did the internet blow it out of proportion? Can it simply be prevented by washing your hands? I already have a bearded dragon and leopard gecko and they haven't given me any diseases. Is the risk of salmonella so high that I shouldnt get a turtle?
so nice to see reptiles kept properly with loads of space. All my animals are in the maximum space i can provide. If i dont have decent space i dont get the animal
some people don't have room to sleep in...and you got room for turtle. smh.. let the nature take care of them
Jill scott I agree I'm also a turtle keeper I make sure my turtles have all the space they need
American Spirit Thats what should be said about people who dont have a room to sleep somehow.
I love your shows

This place is heaven.... I love turtles :)
I love this turtle room!! I have watched this video probably 20 times!!
I loved the North American spotted turtle setup!! It's so creative, the two story design. Really nice room!!
Your turtle room is stunning, the enclosures even more so! It's such a nice change of pace to see turtles and tortoises cared for correctly on youtube. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work!
THAT ROOM LOOKS AMAZING!!!
This video is still alive, I can’t believe it. It’s been so long since I’ve watched it 😂
I can’t wait to build a new enclosure for my terrapins in a month or so! Been looking for inspiration videos and this has inspired some ideas! They are getting big now so will defo need to move out of their tank but I’ve always wanted to give them a huge living space so I’m so excited !!!
This is the first video I have watched from theTurtleRoom and as soon as I saw the first few minutes of the video I subscribed and liked!
Awesome.. If I were a neighbor, I would be the guy that would not leave...lol Thanks for sharing, great set up!

Great hobby in keeping tortoises and terrapins. Are you are breeding a few species as well, which has got to be fun. Thanks for sharing.
I love your room so much I just love look at this video over and over again
Amazing video dude! Great to see such dedication and commitment to raising these little beauties :D
awesome turtle room lots of cool stuff
really awesome video! Love stock tanks! I use them for my axolotls. Such a cheap and effective tank.
The first waterland tub you show, is that a medium or large size? Looking to house 2 eastern painteds when they get older
Loving the setups, especially the heavy tannins. I keep almost all my aquatics on the semi to very acidic side, depending on species. It's made a real difference.
I’m from the year 2021 and this is a amazing video
my wife got me a Reeves turtle and I already have a 40gallon tank but I won't to know if I can use it for the whole life
It should be enough room for a single reeves turtle, as long as it isn’t overcrowded
I just got 2 Razorback musk turtles!!! Really awesome and their very fast!!!
I would love to have a room like this someday.
Anthony, getting some good ideas from your videos! Thanks for sharing.
I am setting up a Cuora amboinensis and I am using a LDPE stock tub to do it.

I use plastic lattice for my turtles to get up and out of the water. I found the white grates ur using was too brittle and broke.
HI there! WHere did you get the pool/bin? We have a full size RES.
Fantastic turtle room! But I have a question: Where can I get one of those large bins at?
Thank you so much!!
What a great job! I realny appreciate Your effort and passion, I love 🐢 especially European pond turtle as I'm from Poland and I live pretty close to their disappearing natural habitat. I'd love to breed them and release them into their natural environment. Keep up with your great work.

I have a question, don't turtles eat fish? How are they kept together in one pond?
thanks for the upload. subbed.
i know that red eared slider turtles are the most common and are beginner turtles but don't you have any?
How did you get the blandings? They are endangered here I've only seen one and it was in the woods laying in mud very friendly turtle.
And yes I put it back after I seen it was a blandings turtle I couldn't tell till I whipped some mud off seen the spots and how long the neck was.
Nice turtle room...
Well done.!! I realy enjoyed the tour.!)

cool i will be getting her small fruit flies and things just to keep her feeling like she is in the wild she should hunt them down can't wait.lol

Are algae eating fish good to be in a turtle pen?

I think the brand is waterland tubs . I also saw the Rubbermaid industrial/farm tubs in the room too.
So I'm going to be getting a Russian tortoise and I was wondering approximately how much I would cost for 1 turtle. Thank you very much
I just love turtles 😘😍😍🐆🐢🐢🐢
Can you atleast tell me what type of filter I will need. Because I am trying to make one

Nice indoor setup. But why not just keep them outside in a pond?
I really like your setup and appreciate your dedication and hard work. Would you be interested in working together over a long distance conservation effort?

Happy Turtling ;)
what were those black fish that were in the last tub u
showed
I'm liking everything. The turtles and Comments. I will go and like everyone
First time seeing you it is so awesome
THis may be a dumb question. If all you have in your turtle room are turtles, why not put them all together in one huge aquarium or something?
not all turtles get along
DUDE WE'RE WATCHING AT THE SAME TIME
YEA DEY EAT EACH OTHER
If you're not trolling: Different turtles require different things so you can't house them all the same
Different turtles eat different foods need different habitats might not get along.. etc
I'm thing of buying a tortoise , what do I do first ? ,
R u gonna
Make any other
Vids soon
???
May I know what material the those oval-lish tubs are made of?
How much did u pay for the land and water tub

Do u have like a link location for that Home made incubator heat tape?

My mom is scared that I'll get salmonella. Did the internet blow it out of proportion? Can it simply be prevented by washing your hands? I already have a bearded dragon and leopard gecko and they haven't given me any diseases. Is the risk of salmonella so high that I shouldnt get a turtle?
theTurtleRoom why would kids try to eat the turtles
