That's so awesome! I have an eastern spiny as well. He's always jumping out of the water excited for food. Though he has a hump on his back I hope he grows out of 😢 he's only maybe 6 months old

if you haven't already you might think about cover the pond liner. Direct sunlight will damage them.

Hi I have 4 red ear sliders and they are in a pond outside. I live in northern cali and it never snows but it gets cold at night maybe in the 40's. Do you think there ok outside in the pond all winter? Or should i bring them inside? And if they stay outside should i feed them while they are in brumation? I would appreciate any info. Thanks! And thanks for the videos.
Yes, red eared sliders can handle Kentucky winters where ponds freeze over. They're quite cold hardy. A cool hibernation period is beneficial, and necessary for reproduction I believe. No feeding required during hibernation. They won't eat when cold enough for good hibernation anyway.

@@ShelledReptiles I have 4 eastern box turtles. 3 males and 1 female. I don't have too many problems with fighting because they live in my backyard. My fence is buried over 2 feet underground. Sometimes the males have mild disagreements but they have more than enough room to stay outta each other's way. They are hibernating right now in a large plastic bin inside my enclosed back porch. I hibernate them under my porch to protect from predators. I've had them for 8 years now. They were rescues and its illegal to release them because its unknown where they were collected from or how long the people had them. They had 5 babies this year. I have 31 years experience keeping reptiles, amphibians and arachnids.
I’m wanting to buy a snapping turtle new born !!! Should I get one ?!?! I have a 75 gallon aquarium that’s sitting in my living room with NOO water, it’s clean and ready to go, I was thinking about making one side water and the other side land !?!? It’s a huge commitment !!!

I am wondering how often does a female lay eggs? It’s March and I don’t know when I might find some babies, I don’t want to leave them outside. I just don’t know if any of them will lay eggs although I know Elvis was loving the ladies…I know the girls can carry the eggs until they find a place they feel safe so I guess when they mate is not an indicator as to when eggs will be laid. If you know, thank you for the info.
