After a bit of a drought, a Star Wars series worth your time has come to TV. The Acolyte, set in the era of the High Republic (i.e., a few hundred years before the prequel films), isn’t directly tied into the Easter egg-heavy sprawl of The Mandalorian and its related series. Instead, like Tony Gilroy’s great resistance epic Andor, it has a distinctive sensibility and feeling of authorial intent. Leslye Headland, best known for Russian Doll and her bruisingly hilarious films and plays, created the series, which provides a new read on the history of the Jedi through the story of former acolyte Osha (Amandla Stenberg) and her increasingly dark-side-tempted sister, Mae (also Stenberg), who is on her own quest to kill some Jedi. If you’re familiar with the general tenor of parts of the Star Wars fandom, any new take on the universe tends to make certain staunch grumblers very mad. In this case, however, most of The Acolyte’s innovations are good - not because they might make people mad, though that’s an added bonus, but because they open up exciting possibilities for the Star Wars universe. Also, because The Acolyte is just plain fun, in the mode of a pulpy adventure novel or an open-world video game. Free your mind, embrace the ways of the space witches!

Darth Plagueis would be a teenager during the events of _The Acolyte_ . I wonder if he will appear in this series.
Possibly one of the 'Few training in the shadows' probably learns from the Zabrak 'The sith lord' on how to create life.
Plagueis books are not canon anymore so it’s still in the picture. Just make their races life span 300 years instead of 200 and we good.

This! Looking forward to that showdown. Given Kelnacca and Torbin are somewhat in self exile when we first meet them, there is a lot of guilt at play following the events on Brendok. Indara seems to be the proud, beyond reproach type so continues on with life. Sol being the one who is largely spared the guilt of the showdown.

Qimir is the apprentice and just like the rule of 2 he is looking for his apprentice "Mae". I feel we have not seen who the sith lord is. That will be the big reveal. Now 100 yrs before ep 1 the sith lord wouls be plagueis master. But i doubt disney goes there. There cannon is shit compared to legands

Star Wars ends today. We can all feel it. A great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
Honestly there are haters for everything they make now a days. Nobody ever seems happy about anything but in my opinion this is one of the best they have made in a while, it gives me throwback vibes for some reason. Cant wait for episode 3 and hopefully we get to see Grand Master Yoda. Also Squid Games actor Lee Jung-jae looks really good as a Jedi. It seems that this is the first american series he appears in since he is Korean so way to go for him!!

I think series is good but my nitpicks are the so-called Sith lords helmet. If they had removed the teeth, he would have looked more serious. Also, they should have gone back further in time, 150 years extra back.

Fallout had a mainly female cast with 5+ women/women of color including the lead role with 2 of them being in a relationship in all the positions of power. Starwars acolyte is poorly written with predictable twist and storytelling. Nothing is a mystery in this so-called mystery as every single situation is explained in 5 to 10 minutes. Has more plot hole then a fishing net. You can't put it on men, or lgbtq+bashing. Fallout hadall that and even with the huge fear it was getting the TLJ treatment people overwhelmingly binge watched it. Fire Kk and LH. Its trash pouring out of a dumpster fire with those 2. No money made on a cash cow in 12+ years and everything they 5uch spoiled like milk in the sun. Hasbro went broke because they couldn't sell a single tlj toy in over a decade. You can represent and still write a good story. Fall out has shown us that and Leslie. Headlined and Kathleen Kennedy show us that they cannot.
