I’m quickly coming across your dislikes, having owned my XDiavel S for only a couple of months. Suspension; I get great confidence from the suspension. I’ve had this bike of the edge of its tyres and really like how you can (almost) play ‘sports bike’ on it, however, hit a slight dip in the road, not even an actual pothole, and oh boy does my back take a pounding!! I swear I’m around 2” shorter from the vertical battering my spine has taken 😢 Heat shield; yep, mine has gone loose in barely a few weeks. I’m getting the dealer to collect the bike and sort it as they say they know about the issue (a rubber spacer/grommet is prone to melting) and it sounds like there’s an upgrade/fix available. Headlight; I like it. It’s a bit kinda futuristic and goes against the traditional cruiser image, pretty much like the rest of the bike! 😎 Oil service reset; I hear what your saying but I guess Ducati want to make sure the light can’t be reset if the maintenance hasn’t actually been done. It makes it better/safer for someone buying the bike pre-owned. Of course, it also ensures they continue to make money after the initial sale … 🤔 Washing the bike; I always finish washing my vehicles (especially bikes) with a blow-dry, specifically to get the water out of those nooks and crannies. I have a couple of dedicated vehicle blow-dryers and also have an air compressor. No after-drips for me! 😮😂
I just bought a 2022 XDiavel. I haven't had it long enough to find the same issues. I personally like the aesthetics of the light. I wasn't planning on doing my own maintenance (I worked on helicopters for years, my hands are shredded) so it shouldn't be a problem. The comfort, I have felt all of the bumps, but the suspension is adjustable and I will have it adjusted on my break-in service. So far I'm loving it. One more thing about the engine reset, according to the manual, the software is open source, I'm sure someone has figured out a way to reset the service notification. Cheers!
Lucky you! I’m jealous! I wish I never sold my XDiavel! There’s like a 99% chance I will buy another XDiavel one day. That bike was amazing. Put a Termi exhaust on it ASAP! You won’t regret it.
The suspension is adjustable... Loctite prevents bolts from backing out.... I agree that the headlight is ugly.... I have never owned a motorcycle that does not hold in water in places you cannot get to.... Overall, you struggled to find minute dislikes because it is a badass muscle bike.
I purchased a unit from Obdstar that will take care of resting all service lights and full diagnostics. A very reasonable price too for the Ducati only model
Hey Jesse, agree with you on all points (l have a Diavel 1260S), not had the heat shield issue but might be different on mine. The service light issue is one big hassle. Nice video you're always so chilled. Thanks.
I have had nothing but issues with mine but still love it lol My exhaust shield is a little loose but nothing I can hear. 1. Stone got stuck in belt and put a grove in it ( even with new RS cover) 2. brake covers corroded ( nothing too bad and cheap fix) 3. Rear brake fix ( dealer damaged frame in multiple places ) They replaced the frame free, Now rear brake line has a hole in it where it has rubbed against the heat shield so going to replace this myself this weekend as don't trust them to do it properly. 3.Now Yesterday got coolant under the bike which I have tracked down to the bottom of the radiator so now have to get this booked in, Note brake/Coolant all happened while sitting over the winter since last Nov. New Radiator £879!!!!!!Plus fitting. ( believe this was damaged by frame replacement ) as they have never known a RAD to go, So now got a fight on my hands. Never had such bad luck with any other bike. Fingers crossed this will be the end of it. It's only got 3500mls
I am sorry to hear the issues you are having. I just took my bike in like a week ago for recalls and replacing break lines was one of them. Also kick stand, key fob replacement and more. Free recalls. So check recalls for your bike you may be able to get that replaced for free like I did. Thanks for commenting and letting the channel community know.
Good review bro, I agree with oil life monitor. I also do my own oil changes and this can get annoying on rides as the indicator is telling you that the oil needs to be changed. I hate the fact that you have to pay the dealership .5hrs just to connect to the machine and turn of the OLM. But overall still love the bike
The oil change light is the most annoying thing I dislike about my XD too bro. Dealer would charge me $80 to turn off the light. So I turn the date back and service light disappeared.
Great vid Jesse...it's hard to come up with dislikes. Yea, that oil change reset is an issue. After hearing everything else I came away thinking you still really like her though!
1) Comfort is always at opposite ends with crisp handling with a 40 degree lean angle. This is a supersport bike disguised as a cruiser. It wont be super smooth necessarily. 2) you should be servicing this kind of exotic bike at dealer. Dont be cheap on an expensive machine. You put a $3000 exhaust on it. Lol. 3) Heat shield. Never had that problem. 4) put a factory carbon fiber headlight surround on it. Looks great. 5) really? Yyyyyeah you’re stretching it no disrespect. Enjoy the best all purpose and gorgeous bike on the planet!
Can someone please tell me how reliable this motorcycle can be? So many positive as negative comments all around ducati's, and for the price.. the last thing you want to know is that you bought something that isnt bullet proof Hope someone can help me, I would really appreciate it a lot, cause I'm in the search of a new bike and I saw harleys, yamahas, hondas, indians, triumph... but I really dont know which one could be the best in terms of durability and less mechanical troubles... Cheers to all, keep riding safe! Thanks for the amazing video Jesse
I honestly never had any issues with my Ducati. Just like any machine if you ask me. Treat it how you want it to treat you. Do the proper maintenance and don’t miss treat it and it’ll last a long time.
@@jesseonamotorcycle Wise words Jesse, I appreciate it a lot your answer, not many people take the time to answer, so I'm gratefull you did, you helped me a lot, keep riding safe and living the dream of many ppl, including me. I hope someday my dream come true Keep up the good work!
@@jesseonamotorcycle That tells me a lot... I was in doubt of ducatis cause everyone says that honda/yamaha/kawasaki are kinda the best deal, and for ducati all I heard on internet and with some friends was that the treat in dealerships was kinda poor, in your video also you explain very well how they "fix" your heat shield but 1 week after that it fell too Beyond how beautiful the Ducatis are and how hard they can run, I was afraid that spare parts and customer service would be something problematic...
Does XDiavel generate a lot of heat when idle in a traffic signal? I ride a Ducati Scrambler and it roasts my legs. Planning to upgrade to Diavel, so would like to get your inputs
Dont buy a cruiser if you want comfortable motorcycle, you want to do your own service don’t buy modern motorcycle , heat shield has been fixed on the 2019 version change your ducati dealer , the front light can be customized, do not wash it with water , take your time to clean it , I have XDS 2019 you didn’t have issue on the rear brake ?
Thanks for the updates and tips much appreciated 👍🏼👌🏼 Yes my rear break went out. Dealership recall and it was a fast and easy fix for free. It’s nice to meet other XDiavel owners 💪🏼

I use a leaf blower to dry my bike after I washed it carefully, and this will eliminate the water issue.

I know your comment is two years old but just wondering how it has been long term? Thank you.
When it come to headlight, they should have stuck to the 1st generation diavel - sleek round headlight.
headlight is beautiful !!!!!!!!!!, Comfort could be a better

Buy an OBDStar to reset your lights and intervals

Yeah but such an awesome bike! Do you like the new Ducati Diavel V4?
Did you adjust the shock and buy a comfort seat or Corbin seat?
I didn’t but I should have!
