- Hello, all! Today I got the chance to play with my new power pole. Most of you know my history with these things....The upgraded version is close to the same product with a few noticeable improvements. Enjoy the video! #powerpole
Great video my friend. Hopefully they have made enough improvements to V2 for it to last longer. For the cost I'm still curious if this is a good selection for me. But, I will say, it's much better than tossing an anchor every time. Great idea on making a simple flush system. Thanks, Steve
Thanks for the comment! To this day they still work great!
@@RHDOutdoors Thanks for your reply
May I ask what brand you have. Thanks. Steve
They are Power Pole brand
Great idea using that water attachment. Put some fresh batteries to the remote and re test it. There is a seal with plomers grease inside the case to prevent water going inside. Is a good idea to put extra, as well a silica pack to absorb moisture.
I have seen all I need to see. Sticking with a simple stake out pole. Thaks for posting.
The newer ones really are pretty good.
Just say your poor m. Crybaby
What does the orange button do?
Besides weak fob batteries the receiver could be on the front of the anchor facing the front of the boat.
The unit in question was examined by the manufacturer and deemed to be defective. It was replaced with a newer model free of charge. The newer model has functioned flawlessly. The frustration I had was from owning 3 defective units in a row.
Thank you for the Video !!!! VERY good info as I just recieved the V2 .... as my V1 came to me from the factory as defective. The manual up button did not work so I could not set the Anchor force :-( The V@ does look like a large improvement and will be re rigging it up on my BKC TK1222 kayak this comming weekend as the battery wire harness appears to be different from V1 to V2 .
Thank you for the comment! I have used the V2s a couple of times now and they have performed very well. Definitely a better product.
The wiring harness is no different than version 1 to version 2
Yes, the battery packs are also interchangeable
Another great video. You have the right idea with the water leak issue, as I've had the same problem with my units. Can you tell me if they closed the seam on the top inside of the unit? I use mine on a kayak and have had an issue with waves hitting the side of my PPM, and I put silicone around the open edge all the way around.
Thanks for the comment, Kim! It doesn't look like they did. I can't be sure without disassembling it. The top and bottom openings in the shaft look the same except for the extra length on the top. You may still have trouble if the waves are actually washing over your units and going into the top hole. It took me a while to figure out what was happening with the water but after seeing another youtuber with one taken apart, I pretty much determined that the water was pooling in the little chamber the motor sits in. I'm surprised that they didn't seal the circuit board with some kind of coating.
I contacted power pole just now and they said that they have upgraded the seal system in the newer style drivers.
A little long. Maybe edit those distance tests ? 5-8 mins my limit to open any video. Good job
@@crnatn I've found that with videos like this, if you don't show the entire process, people tend to doubt your findings.
Hey man, I have a 1656 Jon boat. I have been really contemplating getting one of these. Do you feel like they work good enough for a boat that size, and having two people on it? And is yours still doing good? I trout and red fish outta N.C.
Heya, I don't see why not as long as it's a john boat. Power poles are best in mud bottoms and as these boats are lower down to the water, you should get plenty of hold in 4 ft or less of water. These types of poles are NOT good in sand.
@@RHDOutdoors ok man I appreciate it
I just got a version 2 after warranted my old one. Battery indicator: the battery pack only gives me 3 lights 1 3 & 5. I have wired a 10ah 12vdc battery and with it I get all lights. IDK why? Both are charged fully.
Yes, that is normal
Awesome thanks for telling me about the version 2.
No problem. I didn't even know about them until it showed up on my doorstep. A replacement for my 3rd malfunctioning V1. I'm glad they realized they had a problem and corrected it. They are a must for me kayak fishing in the marsh. Its ALWAYS windy here.
@@RHDOutdoors ya lately its been windy here too. I have an anchor wizard for the front I want the power pole for the rear. I have the slayer max 12.5
@@blazindragon296 yeah. That will work
Just wondering how the version 2 is holding up now that you have had it a few months. Considering getting one for my skiff
Thanks for the question, Timothy! The micro anchors are holding up nicely. The only thing that they do that annoys me a bit is that sometimes, when the stakes are all the way to the top, the anchors will keep running for an excessive amount of time before they stop. About 8 or 10 seconds. This isn't that bad because a tap on the down button stops it whenever you want or you can just let them run the cycle and they stop.
@@RHDOutdoors Thanks loved the video. Curious do you use them in saltwater?
@@tckwilson I use them exclusively in Salt water.
Your batteries in your fobs must be weak or either yours aren’t synced correctly because my 1.0 version communicates waaaay much further than that, something isn’t right with yours. My relative has a 1.0 version also and we’ve had no issues either. Definitely misleading for others
That's why I warrantied the v1s and got two new v2s
Could you run a test on the battery pack? Videos I've seen show five indicator lights to show full battery charge; new software on battery pack now shows 1-3-5 indicator lights to indicate full charge . . . is this true? Can you verify? I have the newer Micro Power Pole setup.
I have a battery that has been sitting for 5 days now after a full charge. My new V2s both show 4 indicator lights for that battery. Not sure what you mean by 1-3-5.
After I charge my battery and once installed on the main unit there are five indicator lights to deal with. When I click on the test button, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th indicator lights come on bright red (from left to right). Power-Pole told me because of the new battery software those three indicator lights when they come on tells you the battery has a full charge. Have you seen this? And how long are you supposed to charge a "new" battery right out of the box?@@RHDOutdoors
Actually my older versions used to do this. I will fully charge a battery tonight when I get home and get back to you.
The batteries come with chargers that have 3 colors of LEDs. Blue=power, Orange=charging, Green=charged.
Yes, Sir. From a fully charged battery, my new version 2 drivers give LED 1, 3, 5. For fully charged. I hope that puts you at ease.
Just got a pedal kayak ! Looking for tips on how to fish the gpt harbor area id like to share my contact info with you some how
Congrats on the pedal kayak. You will love it! Look me up on Facebook. Rick Davis.
If it doesn't rain, we should be coming down.
Tonight?
@@RHDOutdoors No, next weekend.
Change your batteries!!!!!!
It wasn't the batteries. It was a defective unit as verified by the manufacturer.
