Agust D is Suga Dt backwards, DT means Daegu Town, wich is the city from Korea where Suga was born! And Daechwita is actually a type of song they used to play when the king was marching or something in Korea, not necessarily a military song
If you're interested in learning the cultural references Suga made in the lyrics, I recommend DKDKTV's explanation video... They explain the 'putting my past in a rice chest" line and many others... Most have to do with more ancient Korean history, back when Korea had dynasties of kings during what we call the Middle Ages (roughly 1200-1600 AD) Great reaction! I didn't even realize you hadn't seen an MV yet, because I keep forgetting how few there are for any BTS or solo rap/hip-hop songs 😕
Yes! It would be awesome if u reacted to the explained video to this song. Get used to this cuz there ARE explanation videos for many of BTS' songs which r very eye openers. This will not be the only time u will c a comment abt reacting to explanation videos to many other BTS' songs cuz they ARE THAT DEEP 😁
Yes, I learn a lot when I watch DKDKTV's explanation videos. They are so good at showing the cultural influences in the MVs and lyrics that I had no clue cause I don't speak Korean. Especially when they breakdown the rap lyrics, and point out the word play like in Ddaeng, or Ugh. Anyway, great reaction!
BTS has always been mood music for me. Sometimes I want to hear JK doing a scat from House of Cards and other times I want to hear the non stop, no breathing, fire bars from RM in Joke lol, it's all about balance 🔥
For more stuff you’ll probably like: - Interlude: Shadow - Cypher 3 - Outro: Tear - Give it to Me by Agust D - The last by Agust D - STOP by jhope To push your tastes a bit: - People by Agust D - Seoul by RM - Outro: Ego To really go for something different: - Pied Piper - House of Cards - Lie - Intro: singularity - Begin - Idol Edited to add a cypher cause I’m silly not to have one in the first place!
@@zara471 😱😱😱😱 I totally did! I had been recommending it to them in previous videos but they just slipped my mind while I was writing this list!! Imma do a cheeky edit. Thank you!
I believe Daechwita is the music they would play when a king walks into the room. So he shouts "Daechwita" to basically call himself a king and announce himself. The song is about a king who becomes tyrannical. The king becomes too proud and it becomes a battle within himself.
If we're looking for something they won't like... it's DEFINITELY not that one LOL they'll love it. Edit: but if they do a reaction to it, they REALLY need to know the background on when this song was written and produced. The circumstances and stuff around it.
I believe he said the king symbolizes his former self, he was initially motivated by ego materialism greed, in the video he's fighting that version of himself to stay humble, he realized that the most important thing is just being yourself
Thanks, guys. I'm so happy you're finally interacting with the lyrics. I like that you pointed out how Suga uses pauses between lines to emphasize certain things. I don't I've ever seen other reactors pointing that out before. The "rice chest" line is indeed a cultural reference. I think the subtitles in "Daechwita" MV is one of the better ones in terms of rhymes and language register (using "pill popper" instead "drug user", for example). Getting translation to rhyme is one of the hardest tasks in translation. I'm a translator myself, so I know how much work goes into that. If you prefer using lyric videos, then by all means, use them. Please do whatever is most comfortable for you. Just two things: First, choose lyric videos with good translations. I think people (including myself) have pointed the trustworthy and the untrustworthy ones. Because lyric videos only give you one line at a time, maybe you can also have the doolset website displayed in another tab/window, so you can see whole verses at a time. Second, you might want to preface your reactions by stating this preference, so people don't scold you for it LOL. Some reactors do two or more videos in one reaction, first the lyric video, second the music video, and then the live performance, etc. Or watch the music video twice, once for the music or visual or choreography, and once more to break down the lyrics. I'm sure you'll find a way that suits you the most.
This song is such a fantastic example of Sugas genius level abilities. His idea and use as the music producer of traditional music used by the military to announce the King as a flex to make a video where he is a greedy king. It’s Soo well blended musically. His lyrics and the MV is chalk full of historical references. The whole idea is killing his inner greedy corrupt by power “king” to become the young rebel man of the people. It’s brilliant and he controls the whole process the production smd idea for MV. Nobody does it like him.
It is common for listeners new to BTS who speak English to compare the rapline to American rappers. However my advice is to listen to the music just as you would American songs, for the cadence's, musicality and flows because you can hear them in the music. I know people don't understand the language and some want to understand the lyrics but the language doesn't translate to English well. I have been Army since 2018. And for me once I know what the gist of the song is by reading the subtitles, it really doesn't matter much after that because when it all boils down to it, it's about the music, their vocals and cadences from the rap line. Try and listen for how it makes you feel. A lot of times I listen to songs while in my car because they bring a whole different vibe! Enjoy your journey. 💜💜
Great advise! I listen to basically everything, including tons of music in languages I don't understand. I listen for the mood, musicality, and melody before getting into the lyrics. Then when I get around to the lyrics I find deeper love for the music. And I leave comparing artist/music at the end. Love this approach!
@@merandalattanze3033I need to expand my music listening to other languages as well. Spanish and Korean is where I'm at right now. Smartinds think alike LOL 💜💜
I'm digging your sarcasm at the end. You two are like some of the guys I chill with so I feel like I'm just chilling with my guys. BTS in general, including solo works, tend to tell stories in their music videos which is why ARMY tend to prefer music videos. For instance, the lyrics may read like it is about a relationship but the video shows what type of relationship it might be like inner struggle and relationship with yourself rather than a romantic one. I saw some recommendations for Interlude Shadow which I love, the music video which is called a comeback trailer is missing a verse, so looking at the lyric video for that one will definitely be good since it will be the full version. If you have time, watch the mv. Agust D like you saw is Suga backwards with DT which is short for Daegu Town, the hip hop crew he was a part of before BTS. The one thing that I always love about Suga is that he always goes back to his roots. In other songs, he always says he's a D boy-- which means he is a Daegu (his hometown) boy. Anyways this comment is long enough so until next time, peace
Thank you for your reaction! I watch a lot of reactions on BTS and I like how you react, it's a pity that I saw you just now. Since I watch with subtitles, not always everything is clear, but the face, facial expressions, intonation are fire! With love from Russia.
Yoongi is one of the fastest Kpop rappers his flow kadens and speed is mind blowing. Many references used in Yoongi's raps are about his personal life and also others criticism on itand how he claps back as well ...but also for younger generations and like telling his fans about different stuff and how they should work on stuff .
Thank you for this reaction! Daechwita is one of my favorites. You may like his self titled song AgustD too, which came out in 2016. Looking forward to a reaction to RM and all of the vocalists too! Please react however and whatever is natural and best for both of you. If lyric videos give you more of a feel for the song, I think you should go for that. You can always react to the music video right after it in the same video, or on another reaction video. (Or not at all) I do enjoy watching reaction videos to MVs but would rather watch a reaction that is most natural to you.
considering how diverse BTS music is there will be something you wont like as much but even then there will probably be things in the song you will enjoy like the lyrics (wich in most if not all BTS songs are fire, it helps that the main writer is a literature loving rapper: their leader RM). I do recommend checking out the introduction to BTS member by Taylor its really well made and quite up to date (as of May so just missing their latest anthology album and Jhopes Jack in the Box solo album). And dont worry about making long videos ARMY are totally fine with longer videos so dont feel you need to limit yourself time wise.
You guys just popped up on my recommended for the first time and I just wanted to say thank you for doing your best to be respectful of cultural context and not upset fans. I'm also glad you guys are being honest as well and not just saying it's good so people don't get mad haha. I don't dislike any BTS songs but the one I probably listen to least is ON if you want to try listening to that. I'm looking forward to your other videos!
Suga also recently produced and featured in psy(worldwide viral hit gangnam style guy) latest song that that. Check out that one. You gonna impressed to see how talented suga as producer. He also produced some other korean artists too.
Daechwita is the horn music in the background played to announce the king is moving about- our boy Suga/Agust D is saying “Daechwita Daechwita play it loud Daechwita” as in he’s the king and he’s coming through so announce the king’s arrival. The song is also a clap back to other rappers that criticized him for having gone from underground rapper to mainstream/idol.
Guys, you're so entertaining! Honestly you'll always get lots of opinions from people but just do what you want to do - I quite like lyric videos too but it's true that you see a bit more personality through their nonverbal performance/communication through video. Do a mix or whatever you feel like on the day you're doing the reaction...or I guess what people are specifically requesting. You can't please everyone and you'll get to hear their music either way :) I'm smiling so much at how you react to your own enjoyment of this music so far, lol. With that too - keep being honest! The real ones can take it if there are songs you don't like! You're giving our boys airtime and a real chance to convince you which both mean a lot, plus you're giving them credit for their skills and following...so even if songs turn out to not be your cup of tea we'll still enjoy you navigating your way through their stuff.
You gotta check out their Festa room live 2021 it shows off there stage presence and there vocals so much I promise you that you'll become baby army for sure in no time lol.
Daechwita is the music played during military processions before the emperor. He sampled the music and the chorus is basically him saying play it loud he's the king coming through 😎
There are lots of cultural references in the song. The rice chest part is a historical reference, where the king in the past locked his own heir into the rice chest for days till he died, with no food & water. It was a tragedy
BTS's rapline is the best. It reminds me to old school hip hop, the best decade for me. BTS have one of the most diverse discography . Some people only know them for their 3 english songs but that represents the 0,5% of their discography. They do : hip hop, pop, R&B.., and one of the best think they have are their lyrics!
Thanks for the reaction you guys, glad you're liking the music so far! And it's okay if eventually y'all end up not liking a song, as long as you remain respectful it's all good. We all have our favorite songs at the end of the day. BTS isn't a one dimensional group. They're experimental and play around with different styles all the time. I've been an ARMY for 6 years almost 7, and I'm telling you I've never seen them do the same thing twice. They surprise me everyday and I love it. Love that you're loving the Rap-line and I hope you can show the Vocal-line some love too! Keep the reactions coming and don't mind the ignorant haters. If y'all need help with anything just ask ARMY. Excited to see more 💜💜💜
Very well said. I'm agree with u. But I always end up loving their songs 🤣. There are songs which u fall in love instantly n there are some that grow in u slowly, n some u don't like it at 1st time but when u hear it somewhere else the 2nd time, u realise wow the song is kinda cool. 💜
Really enjoyed the reaction also lol I appreciate you guys trying not too upset people but I think you guys are doing a great job I really enjoy your humor also can't wait for the cyphers the lyricism is crazy
you guys are funny. I believe you when you say you like the music. I didn't expect to love their music as much as I do either. and I love hip hop but I also love pop and r&b and other genres so I guess I was bound to enjoy them 😂
The music you hear in the VERY beginning is traditional Daechwita. The rest is a rap over a modernized version. DKDKTV has a great breakdown of the cultural references, but Bookish Theory also has a breakdown that focuses more on the video elements and references.
YESSS A MUSIC VIDEO 😂 and honestly we only say watch the MV over lyric videos bc a lot of the lyrics videos may not be 100% accurate since lyric videos creators are trying to get the videos out immediately after the song drops to get more views. And some of the earlier videos don’t have subtitles (before BTS became popular world wide) so lyric videos might be your only option there. I learned the hard way that if you select “autogenerated” that usually means you’re going to get gibberish and useless subtitles. And some lyric videos are better than others because of both superior translations and because they also add comments/notes to explain cultural references. And there are “explanation videos by a Korean” if you ever want to look even more closely at their lyrics which explain more of their lyrical impact since the explanation videos explains cultural references that nonnatives would completely miss. I know that’s a lot of information at once, so really, just do what you guys enjoy to do and don’t feel pressured by us to react to anything specific! I really enjoy watching your reactions to BTS- initially because I love seeing any non BTS fan react to their music. And since BTS has dabbled in so many genres of music, usually a new reactor can find something in their niche. Clearly your niche is hip hop and rap. As you can see, there are many rap line songs that are being recommended to you. When I watched your reaction to A Born Singer, you guys asked towards the end if BTS rapped any songs in English or if there are any english rap recommendations. Their English-only songs are Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance and none of them are rap only. They wouldn’t necessarily have English only rap songs since they’re a Korean group. I know BTS and other non western hip hop might be a little outside of your comfort zone (yet you guys are awesome and branching out!) but I hope you continue to enjoy listening to their Korean rap songs as hip hop from a different non-English speaking regional scene. Yes, the members have the ability to rap in English (you might notice they use English loan words in their lyrics) as the members become more fluent in English in order to better connect with Western fans and the Western music industry. However their KOREAN lyricism that is delivered with an amazing flow and cadence is so incredible. I feel like you guys are mindful that Korean and English are different but you still appreciate the flow of what you’re hearing, which I like a lot! 😊 BTS members found inspiration in old school hip hop and I think you’ll really like their references in the song “Hip Hop Phile” (there is no MV, so lyric video is your only option lol). Even if the BTS rap line decided to perform one of their songs that is originally in korean to complete English, their delivery and flow wouldn’t be the same at all since 1) Korean words are not translated to sound the same as English words and 2) the structure of the korean language is very different to English- like the structure of their sentence is complete opposite of English. It makes it even more impressive that they can manipulate both English and Korean to use English loan words seamlessly in their Korean rap lyrics and still make sense at the same time. Hip hop has now branched globally with so many regional scenes across the world that it’s amazing to see non-American groups hold their own. Maybe one day instead of non-American rappers being compared to American rappers, maybe one day it will be flipped where a newer American rapper will be compared to a non-western rapper….maybe one day… I know this sounds like a troll comment, and I promise it really isn’t. I really enjoy your reactions and I’m happy that you’re reacting to artists, like BTS, who are outside your area of expertise. I can tell that you guys truly love rap and hip hop, and I’m so happy that you guys are trying out BTS. I hope you continue to enjoy doing this! Looking forward to your next video!
I like that you're giving this a chance. All of it doesn't have to be your favorite but I appreciate it when people give it a chance and don't immediately hate on stuff because they have some weird conception of it that might not even be true. Thank you for your reaction!
I like that y'all started with learning what Daechwita means first, and that you're kinda breaking down the lyrics a bit and analyzing Suga's flow. It's actually interesting to hear that! If you guys want a mix of rap, vocals, super dope dancing and just a hyped song, I suggest you watch MIC DROP (Steve Aoki remix). Istg y'all gonna like it 💜
I definitely like that you don't need videos necessarily. It shows that you're into the Hip hop and music, whatever it is. This is an fire mv of course but Daechwita is also on my workout playlist. The thing about BTS is that they don't even need their mind-blowing videos and razor sharp choreo, but they do them anyway. The music stands on its own.
I love what you said about his flow here. He loves doing strategic pauses and adding that signature “mmh” into his raps haha, it just gives him that much more attitude 😂 And then going into a really long, complex, wordy bar just afterwards. When you hear more BTS songs, you’ll notice he also likes whispering “Suga” into the mic just before staring his verse, it’s very in the background of the tracks but you can’t stop noticing the trend once you start My least favourite BTS song… mmh, that’s a pretty hard question since (genuinely) I don’t hate any, but out of their most famous ones, probably DNA? Or maybe one of their very early B-Sides from 2014 or so, like Miss Right? Or Embarrassed? They’re not “bad songs” though, just not my personal style. For you, feel free to dislike whatever songs you dislike, please! 😂 it’s just about respect, mainly, that’s it 💜
Suga is a versatile rapper and he is known for his raw and honest lyrics and flow changes You should react to agustd -agustd it's his first solo song I'm sure you will like the song
Agust D (also known as SUGA) is ranked as one of the most influential producers and songwriters in South Korea, who won multiple awards over the past few years, including best producer. He debuted at #9 on Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart. He became the first male soloist in history to have a song and album reach No.1 on iTunes in 100 countries each. He is ranked No.1 most streamed Korean male soloist globally in 2021 on Spotify. His mixtape "D-2" debuted at #11 on Billboard 200 and it is the most streamed album by a Korean soloist. And there is just a few of his achievements. He has two self-produced mixtapes: "Agust D" (2016) and "D-2" (2020), which broke several records on music charts worldwide. He uses his platform to talk about important topics and most of his lyrics touch such subjects as mental health, social issues, the contrast between dreams and reality, etc. To put this simply, in Daechwita MV king is his past self. The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. "Daechwita" is a genre of Korean traditional military music, which was played to announce the arrival of king. He was also working as producer for brand like Samsung. I recommend you to check out (Agust D, Agust D) (Agust D, What do you think) Fun Fact: Yoongi(Suga) has a royal blood in his body. His great great great grandmother is the very last empress of Korea. He’s a member of the loyal family in Korea.
just dropping by to show appreciation! it's hard but i'm glad you're trying to catch the bars. it's probably not what you do but there are explanation vids for some bts songs since we're non-korean speakers and the bts rapline aren't lazy on lyricism so we lose a lot over mere translations. 🤧 "you nice, keep going."
You guys would probably benefit from watching the DKDKTV "Explained by a Korean" video for this song. It explains a lot of the stuff you were wondering about in this reaction.
What's really going to blow your mind is the way they will purposefully switch between Korean and English and find words in both languages that make sense contextually and sonically. You can see this at its best, in my opinion at least, in their Cyphers. Particularly with RM, who is fluent in English. I love seeing musicians discover these guys - I appreciate the knowledge you can bring so I can learn something new, so thanks for doing these reactions!
NEW SUBSCRIBER!! I really love how you guys hopped onto the BTS train without expecting to like anything, but you ended up loving them. I understand that you guys like more of the rap scene, so I really recommend Outro: tear live. But if you guys want to hear everything, rap and singing, I recommend their fiesta room live 2021 and their tiny desk concert
I feel like you guys would love “Joke” by RM. He literally DOES NOT take a breath for the entire song. It’s amazing. Also, “Outro Tear” (the live version) by all 3 rappers in the group is amazing. You’ll find as you keep watching that their lives sound exactly the same (if not better tbh) than their recorded stuff.
What you can do is watch the lyrics video first AND THEN watch the music video if it has one or live performance. Almost all the time BTS is so much better live. The studio version is great but they are born to perform on stage in front of a crowd. They sing, dance and rap all at once live and it's incredible to watch please take this into consideration. If the song doesn't have a music video Armies can suggest great live performances for u to experience. For example, you can watch the lyric video for Outro : tear and then go on to watch the live performance at wembley stadium. H Just bear in mind the translations on some of the lyrics videos may not be completely accurate ( doolset lyrics is great for accurate translations and cultural notes on things you may not pick up on) as well, music videos also have explained videos by bookish theory, dkdktv and xceleste to explain to foreigners about Korean cultural references and lyricism that you don't understand but I urge u to react to the mv along with the lyric video if you can or live performance. Great reaction guys
In front of the car, the picture of Bang PD, the one who got them together (the nose and all) there are a lot of elements and references in this this video as BTS always does to connect content. Jin and JK were the guys fighting in the market...
Daechwita is usually the music played when the King goes on parade but now its the Military. You can get more explanations in the youtube channel dkdktv on Korean man explains Daechwita. The rice chest is a historical reference.
They take a lot of inspiration from American rappers and hip hop but then add in their own culture and word play. They did a show called American Hustle life with Tony Jones and Coolio. You all should check that out! They really test their knowledge and love for the hip hop/rap culture.
With BTS, the music videos and their live performances are integral components of their art, so much so that the best reactors are now doing multi part reactions where they include a lyric video or an explanation video as well as the music video or live performance. This is what's needed when you are dealing with a band of this calibre. BTS are far above the surface level of most Western music.
Another great reaction! I honestly saw that you were genuine when you first reacted to Bad Decisions. You admitted that it wasn’t your style of music and that you watched it mainly for Snoop, and it was obvious that you didn’t like it that much. Which is totally understandable and i’m glad to see you expressing it respectfully like you did! As for the rap songs from BTS, i’m sure you’ll like most of it. But of course it’s okay even if you don’t! We enjoy watching you guys discovering their music anyways💜 As for the Korean lyrics vs the English translation, it will never be completely accurate. In most cases further explanation is needed. Also, in Korean, the concept of rhyming is almost non-existent. But still BTS rappers manage to do it. Here’s what one Korean-American literature professor said about it: “Although the world's foremost linguists consider Korean to be one of the most scientific languages, it is terrible for rhyming due to the grammatical rules and patterns, specifically the conjugations, and shortness of the words. In fact, the notion of rhyming is absent in Korean poetry. That is why Korean rappers focus more on flow and rhythm, unlike American rap, in which rhyming is the most important aspect. Therefore, the BTS rap line inventively utilizes consonance (the recurrence of similar sounds, especially consonants, in close proximity) and assonance (similar sounds of vowels) to create imaginative rhyming patterns. This is why I've been saying that no Korean rapper or poet can match the rap line when it comes to rhyming skills.” I hope to see you react to more BTS songs, especially such as Tear, Ugh, or Ddaeng (the last two with the explanation video from DKDKTV please). Love you guys💜
Music is subjective true but they really have no bad songs some might be better than others in your case their rap/hip hop songs might be better than the recent pop songs but never bad except (on ft sia but thats because of sia lol) The cyphers are really good check those out 1-4
I've heard consistently bad things about Sia ON Collab, (the only BTS song I've ever heard anything negative said about it) THE ONE TO CHECK OUT IS: ON Kinetic Manifesto !
@@yukimm thats good you like it but me and probably half the fandom don't like her part in it, which is why I say because of sia...ON is one of my faves without her in it.
Joke by RM, FIRE, DNA, NOT TODAY, MIC Drop, ON: Kinetic Manifesto for sure!!!!! Fake Love, Blood Sweat & Tears, Black Swan, and Dionysus - with RM's Persona... an award show... they do things different in Asia for sure... and it's like a mini concert.
AgustD is Suga spelled backwards and tD stands for Daegu Town (Town Daegu) which is his hometown in South Korea. A-G-U-STD. AgustD. It's not whether you like a song or don't not everybody likes everything. What I'm curious about is if you guys are open to other genres of music other than hip hop and rap. They do many different genres from hip-hop/rap, pop, r&b, EDM, latin, slow ballad, etc. This song is a lot deeper than it appears at first. I recommend you watch the video from DKDKTV: Daechwita explained.
There's some videos made by DKTV that have an explained by a korean series, that would be helpful in breaking down some of the cultural nuances a lot of bts songs have. I highly recommend watching even if its not for reactions it makes the songs 10x more cooler having more context behind them especially with songs like this that have a lot more than you can catch if you don't have more cultural info about korea.
Folks have told you what Daechwita is - I just want to say that there are a few ways he uses it in the song. One is as music played to announce that the king is coming, but it's also music to announce that an army is coming. I'm pretty sure he intended both. He's got the strength of ARMY behind him. It's also so Korean it defies translation.... Our Yoongi finds a lot of clever ways to clap back at people who say he's sold out to the West 😁 There are a lot of Korean cultural references here that help it all make sense. I usually suggest people plan to watch this video three times, so you can focus on musicality, lyricism, and visual story, because all three are really interesting and it's too much to take in all at once 😁 I come back to this one again and again and hear or see new things.
I’ve never even thought about my least favorite BTS song tbh 😂 I have literally dozens of favorites but I can’t think of a song I’ve ever skipped 🤔 you guys just gave me some homework
Fun fact: the gun that Suga (or Agust D) used is called Colt m1860 Army. So he also is referencing the fans ARMY. Fun fact #2: two other members where in the MV. They where the ones fake fighting behind him at the beginning.
I love Agust D❤️🔥Thank you for reaction. If you like rap wordplay, you'll enjoy the BTS rap lines "Cipher pt1,2,3,4"!!(Especially the RM part) "Cypher medlay" , "Ugh" and "Ddaeng" their live performance is fire!!🔥
Happy to see you at the beginning of your BTS journey ! Recommand « Tear » live in Wembley with the rapline !! Thank you for your reaction. Love from France 🌸💖

If you're interested in learning the cultural references Suga made in the lyrics, I recommend DKDKTV's explanation video... They explain the 'putting my past in a rice chest" line and many others... Most have to do with more ancient Korean history, back when Korea had dynasties of kings during what we call the Middle Ages (roughly 1200-1600 AD)
Great reaction!
Anyway, great reaction!

you guys should check out: "a guild to bts members the bangtan 7" by taylor
Yes!! 💜💜
Hell yeah~~
Yes pls💜
upppp
Please do, Taylor’s guide is the best way to learn the members and appreciate the breadth of BTS’s talent.
BTS has always been mood music for me. Sometimes I want to hear JK doing a scat from House of Cards and other times I want to hear the non stop, no breathing, fire bars from RM in Joke lol, it's all about balance 🔥
For more stuff you’ll probably like:
- Interlude: Shadow
- Cypher 3
- Outro: Tear
- Give it to Me by Agust D
- The last by Agust D
- STOP by jhope
To push your tastes a bit:
- People by Agust D
- Seoul by RM
- Outro: Ego
To really go for something different:
- Pied Piper
- House of Cards
- Lie
- Intro: singularity
- Begin
- Idol
Edited to add a cypher cause I’m silly not to have one in the first place!
Good suggestions

@@zara471 😱😱😱😱 I totally did! I had been recommending it to them in previous videos but they just slipped my mind while I was writing this list!! Imma do a cheeky edit. Thank you!
G DRAGON KING
I believe Daechwita is the music they would play when a king walks into the room. So he shouts "Daechwita" to basically call himself a king and announce himself. The song is about a king who becomes tyrannical. The king becomes too proud and it becomes a battle within himself.
If I have said any misinformation, please feel free to correct!
@Sharon Jose I watched a video on it.
Definitely recommend seeing a live performance from them! Outro: Tear is a great one: ruclips.net/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/видео.html
If we're looking for something they won't like... it's DEFINITELY not that one LOL they'll love it.
Edit: but if they do a reaction to it, they REALLY need to know the background on when this song was written and produced. The circumstances and stuff around it.
Yes please. It's amazing
G DRAGON THE KING ,
I believe he said the king symbolizes his former self, he was initially motivated by ego materialism greed, in the video he's fighting that version of himself to stay humble, he realized that the most important thing is just being yourself
Just two things:
First, choose lyric videos with good translations.
I agree 💜
He's fire. Suga is so talented 🔥
Daechwita is connected with his past song "AgustD" and "Give it to me" he basically kills his past self which was the blond one.
One thing I love about your reactions is you guys really focus on the lyrics...that's a very important factor for a musician👍
We are getting new song from him next year(2023) yessss
You will definitely see Suga's more savage side if you listen to his Agust D solo music, especially 'What Do You Think?' its so GOOD
You guys just popped up on my recommended for the first time and I just wanted to say thank you for doing your best to be respectful of cultural context and not upset fans. I'm also glad you guys are being honest as well and not just saying it's good so people don't get mad haha. I don't dislike any BTS songs but the one I probably listen to least is ON if you want to try listening to that. I'm looking forward to your other videos!
Literally his every lyrics about His past and his experiences through their journey.... This man is a whole role model!
Suga also recently produced and featured in psy(worldwide viral hit gangnam style guy) latest song that that. Check out that one. You gonna impressed to see how talented suga as producer. He also produced some other korean artists too.
swag to skill to swag..and if you stick with it, the raw heart and soul in between the lines.
Daechwita is the horn music in the background played to announce the king is moving about- our boy Suga/Agust D is saying “Daechwita Daechwita play it loud Daechwita”
as in he’s the king and he’s coming through so announce the king’s arrival.
You can't please everyone and you'll get to hear their music either way :)
I'm smiling so much at how you react to your own enjoyment of this music so far, lol.
Suga my bias ❤❤❤❤
You gotta check out their Festa room live 2021 it shows off there stage presence and there vocals so much I promise you that you'll become baby army for sure in no time lol.
Hip hop lover. It shows their hiphop influence and growth. + cyphers!
The amount of pauses is sending me
Over the edge.
Llegué temprano 💜😊 gracias por su reacción!! I love it
Siento que les gustaría HIP HOP LOVER
All their music video’s are high quality made. You will not be disappointed.
Daechiwita is my fave bts solo project
My first time seeing your reaction 💜
Thank you for your reaction to suga 💜
Excited to follow your BTS journey! 💜
@@indri2137 Yup, so true lol! It happens so often to me that I end up liking every song. It's magic 😂💜
The rice chest....there is an historical story about being locked in a rice chest. He draws on multiple cultural references in this song.
Maybe one day instead of non-American rappers being compared to American rappers, maybe one day it will be flipped where a newer American rapper will be compared to a non-western rapper….maybe one day…
I know this sounds like a troll comment, and I promise it really isn’t.
CYPHER PART 1.2.3.4. If you search you will know. Iconic !
Istg y'all gonna like it 💜
Building - Windows - Fuck It 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh I needed a good giggle after my long day - thank you
Love your reactions :D Don't stop joking, be yourself it makes those videos better
So excited to watch more of your reaction to bts😊
agust d 'agust d' is another one that is great
I love what you said about his flow here. He loves doing strategic pauses and adding that signature “mmh” into his raps haha, it just gives him that much more attitude 😂 And then going into a really long, complex, wordy bar just afterwards. When you hear more BTS songs, you’ll notice he also likes whispering “Suga” into the mic just before staring his verse, it’s very in the background of the tracks but you can’t stop noticing the trend once you start
My least favourite BTS song… mmh, that’s a pretty hard question since (genuinely) I don’t hate any, but out of their most famous ones, probably DNA? Or maybe one of their very early B-Sides from 2014 or so, like Miss Right? Or Embarrassed? They’re not “bad songs” though, just not my personal style. For you, feel free to dislike whatever songs you dislike, please! 😂 it’s just about respect, mainly, that’s it 💜
Been waiting for this one
Yesssss swag rap 😎 because he is Savage as his personality.. Savage King Suga ❣️
Suga is a versatile rapper and he is known for his raw and honest lyrics and flow changes
You should react to agustd -agustd it's his first solo song I'm sure you will like the song
Great Job 👍😊🌹💜!!! On How You Were Able To Figure Alot Of It Out!! 😘😜💜 Ohhh! Yesss! Our Little King 👑 Can Spit Or What!
3:39 note the fun cameo - Jin and Jungkook (fellow BTS band mates) fighting in the background.
Thank you for the BTS reactions! I hope you'll have a nice week! 💜
Can't wait for you to react to their underrated songs, my favorite 134340 or pluto, coffe, we on, and louder than bomb,
There are NO "least favorite BTS songs." ARMY loves all their music. Understand, we're family. Accept that and carry on. ✌😺💜
I recommend you to check out (Agust D, Agust D) (Agust D, What do you think)
Fun Fact: Yoongi(Suga) has a royal blood in his body.
Yes, there is a historical reference about the rice chest.
Шуга 😻 просто супер кайф 🥰
What's really going to blow your mind is the way they will purposefully switch between Korean and English and find words in both languages that make sense contextually and sonically. You can see this at its best, in my opinion at least, in their Cyphers. Particularly with RM, who is fluent in English. I love seeing musicians discover these guys - I appreciate the knowledge you can bring so I can learn something new, so thanks for doing these reactions!
Suga is a great grandson of the last Korean queen. This information is taken from his biography.
The aesthetic of this song hits me different after i discovered that suga really has royal blood hahahahah
H
Just bear in mind the translations on some of the lyrics videos may not be completely accurate ( doolset lyrics is great for accurate translations and cultural notes on things you may not pick up on) as well, music videos also have explained videos by bookish theory, dkdktv and xceleste to explain to foreigners about Korean cultural references and lyricism that you don't understand but I urge u to react to the mv along with the lyric video if you can or live performance.
We enjoy watching you guys discovering their music anyways💜
As for the Korean lyrics vs the English translation, it will never be completely accurate. In most cases further explanation is needed. Also, in Korean, the concept of rhyming is almost non-existent. But still BTS rappers manage to do it. Here’s what one Korean-American literature professor said about it:
“Although the world's foremost linguists consider Korean to be one of the most scientific languages, it is terrible for rhyming due to the grammatical rules and patterns, specifically the conjugations, and shortness of the words.
This is why I've been saying that no Korean rapper or poet can match the rap line when it comes to rhyming skills.”
I hope to see you react to more BTS songs, especially such as Tear, Ugh, or Ddaeng (the last two with the explanation video from DKDKTV please).
Love you guys💜
THIS comment. I learned something, thanks. 💜
Music is subjective true but they really have no bad songs some might be better than others in your case their rap/hip hop songs might be better than the recent pop songs but never bad except (on ft sia but thats because of sia lol) The cyphers are really good check those out 1-4
I've heard consistently bad things about Sia ON Collab, (the only BTS song I've ever heard anything negative said about it)
THE ONE TO CHECK OUT IS:
ON Kinetic Manifesto
!
You really went there with the Sia collab😆. The only BTS track I never, ever listen to.
@@butterbuttersbetter3689 WoW must be weawwy bad 😕
Why do you say that? It's not sia's fault that they didn't like the track. I don't know but "On ft sia" is my most favorite song.
@@yukimm thats good you like it but me and probably half the fandom don't like her part in it, which is why I say because of sia...ON is one of my faves without her in it.
This one is hands down my favorite music video. It's the one that made me ARMY. BTW, the gun model is nicknamed Army.
Outro: Tear - Live Wembley for sure!
Love new reactors!
Daechwita is 10x deeper than it looks, DKDkTv explained the whole song perfectly, u can check that out
I have been an ARMY since day. BTS never has any bad songs. They are all motivational and inspirational.
His solo mixtape is great d-1 and D-2,I can recommend you also his August D song, and the Last or First Love :)Love them so much!
Btw, there's a live performance of this song, by all members of BTS. It's so much fun.
I love your reaction to this, he killed his old self, truly it is worth to watch DKDKTV explanation. You did great ;)
Thank you for this reaction!! Can't wait to see what you will react to next from them 😊
Folks have told you what Daechwita is - I just want to say that there are a few ways he uses it in the song. One is as music played to announce that the king is coming, but it's also music to announce that an army is coming. I'm pretty sure he intended both. He's got the strength of ARMY behind him.
It's also so Korean it defies translation.... Our Yoongi finds a lot of clever ways to clap back at people who say he's sold out to the West 😁
There are a lot of Korean cultural references here that help it all make sense. I usually suggest people plan to watch this video three times, so you can focus on musicality, lyricism, and visual story, because all three are really interesting and it's too much to take in all at once 😁
I come back to this one again and again and hear or see new things.
Agust D- the D stands for the city he is from. DAEGU.

Fun fact: the gun that Suga (or Agust D) used is called Colt m1860 Army. So he also is referencing the fans ARMY.
Fun fact #2: two other members where in the MV. They where the ones fake fighting behind him at the beginning.
