  • Tourists to Banff National Park received an icy treat that few expected to experience in August.
A summer storm swooping down from the arctic turned rain into powdery snow at higher elevations.
"It's my first time seeing snow, it's too cold for me" said Grace Baustista who is visiting from the Philippines.
"I was told it was still summer in Calgary, in Banff, so I'm really amazed." Baustista added.
Mahedra Kumara, who is visiting from Australia didn't expect it to be snowing, but was "very nice to see."
But as Jayme Doll reports, the snowcapped peaks are not expected to last.

I like how Global News allows for comments under their RUclips video reports. Unlike CBC news, they don't allow anyone to comment under their videos. I like this report, which is very nicely done and I love the views of the mountains.
