I have a 05 rs and I'm considering swapping in a wrx motor. Seems like as long as you don't beat on it to bad you don't have to upgrade the automatic transmission.
@LinusDickTips I fell off a ladder and shattered my ankle, i can press the pedal to shift a couple of times but after that I wouldn't be able to stand or walk
Here in Ontario we don’t have emissions any more and our inspection is a safety when we buy a used car and that’s it. The wagon does pass safety with the swap.
So if I wanted to I could get a 2006 WRX crossmember engine mount 2:23 and it'll bolt right up to my 2006 2.5i frame? No drilling or welding / cutting? Then I can stick an EJ257 shortblock with my SOHC heads on it in there? ANY reply would be greatly appreciated.
Yes the crossmember\subframe Will mount up with no issues. As for the engine with the heads not too sure if that’ll work. There’s a lot more you’d have to do to be able to have the engine running.
Im doing the same swap with my 06 sedan. I was wondering if you just bought a wrx harness and just changed out the interior to match up the the plugs and such? And if you did what were actual parts that need to be changed out ?
@@beebzandtheboyz Thank you for answering ! Sorry for the reply. I was also wondering about that 3rd fuel line. Im not sure on how it need to be ran, from where to where. Tried finding info but not much that i found.
I got a 2006 Impreza, but it blew😐, can I keep the 5 speed and have the wrx engine? I’ll have 6k to play around after I purchase the engine. Any mod suggestions?
Hey, I am swapping my sti drive train from a 2001 bugeye into a 2006 non turbo hawkeye shell. Did you have any issues with the abs wiring being different and the lines being different to the 2001 abs pump? How did you get on with the looms do they plug into each other? Any help appreciated :)
So we swapped out the brake lines as well to make it all fit. I don't mind giving you the help just not sure how to send a privet message to give you my email.
Honestly its not worth it. You are going to have to put $3,000 into a $3,000 car, do a bunch of work, maybe have it not run correctly and in the end nobody will buy it. The NA Impreza is more fun to drive IMO anyway.
Hey what’s the 3rd line your talking about I don’t understand nor can find more info for it. Does the non turbo have a fuel return line and the na not?
Edwin Arellano Have not done the numbers yet but looking at 2000-3000. Also I’ve been buying and selling parts to make the build cheaper. Thanks for watching
@@edwinarellano9577 If your looking for a delay driver and don't want to do a lot of work just get a wrx, If you don't mind doing a lot of work and time then a 2.5i.
How much for the swap did you pay personally if you don't mind total wise I mean and what really does it give you for the money?
Subaru Imperza swapped into WRX "What you need to do the swap." Look up this Video and this is what we have into it.

It should as long as your not going with crazy power but soon you will want more power.

@LinusDickTips thank you
After the engine swap have you had any issues with inspection?
What type of inspection are we talking about ever country/state or Provence is different.
@@beebzandtheboyz as far as emissions or any engine warning lights, i live in NJ and didn't know if you had any issues with inspection

@@beebzandtheboyz ok thanks
I got a 2010 impreza, how much would a swap run me?
Not really sure how much it would cost .

So we had a WRX that need to be part it out which we did and used everything from it from the wiring to the interior.

You can keep the 5 speed and but is still a lot your going to have to change out and need.
Any update?
Did you guys have to splice the new intake sensors into the old harness. Do you guys have a custom ecu or ?
Used wiring harness from donor car as well as ECU.
So we ended up swapping the abs as well because we swapped the wiring harness and just wanted Everything the plug-in with no issues.
But did you find the lines where in different locations from the hawkeye to the bugeye. The abs pump has different line locations
@@beebzandtheboyz could I have your email? Really love some advice.

Can I wrx swap mine and manual swap it too?
Sure I don’t see why not as long as you have the money and the time.
Hey what’s the 3rd line your talking about I don’t understand nor can find more info for it. Does the non turbo have a fuel return line and the na not?
So non turbo does not have a return line and if your doing this swap you would need one.
@@beebzandtheboyz ok so if there’s already 2 lines are they both feed lines?
So one should be feed and the other should be vent.
@@beebzandtheboyz okay I got it thanks!
Do 06 impreza wagon side skirts fit with 06 sedan fenders?
No they would not fit.
what if i swapped the new manual transmission with the old automatic transmission, is it possible ?
Anything is possible but something like this we have not don’t yet and I’m not sure of what all you would need.
@@beebzandtheboyz i heard if do that youll need the old ecu right ?
Not familiar with that.
Yes it is possible and you would need a manual transmission ecu
Did you have to rip out most of the interior to swap for all wrx wiring harnesses etc?
Yes The whole interior I was taking out to swap all wiring harness.
@@beebzandtheboyz how hard was it? I just want to be prepared for not having my main car for a while lol
Depending on your experience level it’s not that hard.
@@beebzandtheboyz can't wait to do this myself. Just working on the funds

So would you think it’ll be cheaper to get a 2.5i Impreza and do a wrx swap? Because where I live, a wrx goes for like $10,000

Wow, an impreza turned into an impreza wrx for more than what it'd cost to just purchase a perfectly working wrx
