I found this band only recently (regrettably), and was immediately convinced that this band has the highest level of musicianship (musicality/virtuosity) and showmanship (visual/theatrical effects)
Actually, I think this band is among the best fusion bands ever existed, and the very best when it comes to originality and showmanship. Moreover, they can play so effortlessly with smiles on their faces! Simply amazing and entertaining!

It's sad that they announced that they will be going on hiatus this year December 2024😥

I must confess that song makes me tear up a bit too. The talent of the musicians is without question but that voice is something else, so beautiful, she can express emotions like no other. How do they get so much talent into such a small package?

I open the computer and look what i see! Nice start for the day, thank you, Smitty.
The overture is a Wagakkiband song "Mirai", made by Yuko. The next one "Okinotayuu" is by Machiya (guitarist).

Yuko er Instructor of Shigin, with a history of being the best in Japan: Yuko Suzuhana started the piano at 3, and began learning Shigin and sword dance at age 5. Graduated Tokyo College of Music with Piano and is a musical genius. With a dream to “spread traditional arts to the world” she brought together the members, creating the core of the band as a leader, and has written many of WagakkiBand’s songs.
The first song here is called "Mirai" and is written by Yuko, the second "Okinotayuu" is written by Machiya and both songs are on WGB 3rd album "Shikisai" (2017). This is from the same concert that Amy Lee was a special guest and performed "Bring me to life". The whole concert is fantastic and lasted for two hours. All the songs are uploaded to YT so the whole concert except Yuko's talking can be seen (she is a talker and talks a lot between some songs).
    Nice reaction👍

If you focus a bit when Yuko dances with the Katana, she is right handed as one always uses their strong side hand as the primary hand and arm. Also most of her dancing with the fan is with her right hand even though from time to time she uses her left hand with the fan.

Yuko's mother is a piano teacher. Yuko started learning at 3-4 years old and is a piano teacher now. She is also a master of Shigin traditional Japanese poetry chanting. This song was composed by Machiya, the guitarist. He is always barefoot and usually wears a large silver cross. There are several videos from this Symphonic Night and you will love all the songs. One of the great things about Wagakki Band is that each member composes music. They are my favorite band!
You will love Yuko’s voice in these two songs that are composed by Kurona the Wadaiko drummer.

Great reaction Smitty!! Wolfpack's here. Yes, you do deserve Wagakki Band with your good sense of music. Yuko's got formal training on piano. She has majored piano at Tokyo Music University. She sings great and plays piano very well, and Miyako of Lovebites plays guitar super good and plays piano even better. BTW, check this video clip. You'll meat wild and furious face of Miyako. Not with Lovebites but with stunningly beautiful one. ruclips.net/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/видео.html

When I see Japanese rock and metal bands such as Wagakki Band, LOVEBITES, and BAND-MAID, I sometimes feel the following paradox.
"There is no such thing as rock or metal in Japan."
The image of rocks and metals that the Japanese think may be different from the image of rocks and metals that Westerners think. (Because I am Japanese, I may not understand the way of thinking of foreigners)
Many Japanese recognize rock as "music that allows you to freely enjoy your favorite sounds in your favorite style." The only rule is that music has no prejudice or interference.
In Japan, there is no self-control or interference such as "rockers need a style like ****" or "rock needs a performance like ****".
In such an environment, They often play and compose rock music that fuses POP / R & B / folk or classical music. There are different types of instruments to use. In extreme cases, there are also karaoke-style rock bands that do not use musical instruments. (In Japan, the music styles created in this way may eventually be classified as "I think it's rock", "No, it's POP", "Maybe metal ...")
Among the Japanese bands that are currently attracting attention, the Wagakki Band is a band that strongly demonstrates its characteristics.

Yuko's mother is/was a piano teacher. She doesn't get to play it much with WGB, but she's fantastic at it. She plays more on her own channel. She doesn't always sing when she's performing with WGB, though. I don't want to say too much, but check out this video when you can. Not only does it show a different side of WGB, it shows how good they are in little groups as opposed to all eight playing at once.

The title means something like "Letters to No-name" or "Letters without Addressee".
The provided English sub might not be perfect as a poem, but I think it is good enough to convey what it is about.
This is one of the best performances of their own ballads. Yuko's long note and Machiya's guitar will make your eyes watery again.
