      @@BelindaFettkeHi Belinda, this is one of the most informative and insightful videos I've ever watched. The dangerous dogmatic religion infiltrating various sectors of society is disturbing. The Seventh Day Adventists also use their companies like Sanitarium to push their religious dogma whilst also paying no tax courtesy of their 'not for profit' charitable status.
      Your attention to detail and your focus is incredible. You've certainly harnessed the skills you learnt from being a professional photographer. Please pass on a massive 👍 up to Gary from me. A massive thanks to you both for your David vs Goliath battle. Best wishes to you both from NZ. Regards Glenn

    I was born in beautiful Middleton, WI (USA) and have lived here all my life. When I was young, it was a vibrant, healthy community. Then a powerful Seventh Day Adventist came to town and forbade us to eat animal products-nothing but plant-based foods from then on. The results were catastrophic. I went from 170 lbs to 280 lbs in two years. My blood pressure went from 110/70 to 210/195, I became type II diabetic, I developed early-onset diabetes at age 58, and now I am scheduled for open heart surgery. Despite living in the dairyland of the United States, I am a walking pathology of dietary deficiencies. Thanks a lot, Seventh Day Adventists.

One major change I noticed since I removed most plant foods is, my addictive/hedonistic behaviors in general (like drinking) has been significantly reduced. An eye-opening exposure to the harmful influences the food, medical, pharmaceutical, and nutritional industries have on our dietary choices in life. But, probably the most surprising force is the influence the Seventh Day Adventists have been and still are on our dietary beliefs… those are enormous economic and ideological forces that seem all too insurmountable to overcome… I applaud your efforts and successes… of course, the attacks on you and your husband will be unceasing and harsh… these industries are not about to disappoint their shareholders… legal fees must be enormous… how do you cope with and overcome that?

      @Guitarzen What type of scientist are you? Are you a lifelong atheist? I was raised Catholic but am agnostic really. I'm not vegan but care about my weight and health. I just try to keep in mind that we weren't all raised the same and most people tend to stick with what they were raised with. Most people don't want anything forced on them or taken away from them. Meat eaters don't want pushy vegans preaching to them. Religious people don't want atheists telling them that their beliefs are primitive nonsense. We should try to discuss these things without attacking the other side.

      @guitarszenAll the so called "blue zones" are strong meat eaters, with the exception of the Californian community, Loma Linda. But in that community, there are no smokers and they live a life with regular exercise and no junk food. So naturally they would live a little longer, but only compared to other Americans, not comaperd to Japanese or Australians. All the claims by vegans over these "blue zones" is fraud.

When she said big pharma was also involved, I’m not shocked that they would be involved, but I’m definitely interested in more about how and the history. It’s so not surprising then that a vegetarian or vegan diet, something that seems to make many people very ill, would be pushed. What better way to keep the masses on life-long prescription drugs?
    The thing that amazes me is that most people just go on the drugs and don’t question the root cause or chalk it all up to “old age.”

    got one of those living up the street who went (7th ) south America to whatever they do to try and take over the world, been watching and guess what, his mother lived to like 90, but needed twenty years of Alzheimer's care, the man also 90, but hasn't been able to move himself around without support from four wheels walker and requires assistance from a housekeeper and cook. The first time I met him he mentioned how long lived they were due to the garden of Eden diet but I've seen the results It takes him an hour to do a one k slow walk I do in easy ten minutes. His wife was around 70 she was always frail. I'm seventy, do a daily 40k bike ride after waking at 3am, can easily walk 20k tomorrow if I go hiking with my GF. I eat a heavy meat based diet and somehow not dead yet I can even deadlift my weight easy. I take no medicine and still wake with daily wood. I also weigh the same 68kg as high school. Like six kg overweight.

    It's amazing how one small sect of Christianity can have so much influence over what we eat. I grew up in the church that the Seventh-Day Adventists split off from. People in my church used to sneer at SDAs. But one thing is for sure, they were NOT vegetarians. So my Advent Christian Church, which started around 1844, split off from the Baptists, and none of these churches advocated vegetarianism. It's good to consider the origins of these ideas, which apparently were first endorsed by Ellen White, and who was she? You have to wonder why anyone believes her over what's already in the Bible, but that wouldn't be the first time that happened. I quit the Advent Christian Church when I was 14 because what they taught became untenable to me. Too bad more people don't realize how much they're being manipulated against their own better interests.
    BTW, Adam and Eve got kicked out of the Garden of Eden for eating fruit. Amazing how no one pays much attention to the nutritional implications of _that_ situation. LOL

    There's a movie about these weird fiber-pushing cults. It's called 'The Road to Wellville' (1994). It's got Anthony Hopkins playing Kellogg himself, prescribing enemas left, right, and center.
    Bridget Fonda and Matthew Broderick play a young couple who goes to one of these "health communes." John Cusack, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Chief O'Brien from Star Trek are all there.
    It's extremely ridiculous, but I think fairly accurate to what was actually going on at these places?
    Worth a watch if you want to laugh at the absurdity of all this.

    What is very troubling to me is 'Coca-Cola' may be influencer of dietary guidelines. How is this even possible? I will have a diet coke every now and then, because it is refreshing & I enjoy the taste, (yes, I know that diet coke is also terrible for you), but who in their right mind would take dietary & nutritional advice from a company that produces a product like coke? Why not just take advice from a distiller of vodka?

    Just want to add that the issue in the Jewish faith that crisco solved wasn't the lard issue but more the meat and milk issue. You are not allowed to mix meat and milk therefore you couldn't bake anything meat with butter. Enter crisco: solved the problem!

    • @michaelcohen2760
      @michaelcohen2760 Год назад

      Crisco "solved the problem" but created generations of increased diseases amongst Jews. The Israeli Paradox" of increased cancers despite a "healthier diet" is due to increased consumption of seed oils

    • @michaladams5135
      @michaladams5135 Год назад +1

      @@michaelcohen2760 obviously it creates problems! My comment was very cynical. The seed oils and margarine are ubiquitous in Israel used absolutely everywhere. There is however a relatively high meat consumption which gives people interested the ability to use animal fats. Unfortunately awareness is dysmal.

      Mixing meat with dairy is not prohibited in Old Testament at all , it was Jewish priests who made this low based on one biblical verse
      “ you will not boil baby goat in his mother Mather milk”

    • @michaladams5135
      @michaladams5135 Год назад

      Yes that is the original verse. Jews observe the oral law. And there is a differentiation between what parts of those laws are oral laws and which are written laws. It doesnt change the fact that observant Jews don't mix meat and milk.

    Belinda Fettke needs to write a book! What a fascinating and frustrating interview…the ancient Hebrews were nomadic shepherds, they lived on animal products, Judaism is centered around Passover where God commands them to roast a lamb and consume it ALL the night before He delivers them from Egypt. Jesus, Who is called The Lamb of God, set us free from ALL the old covenant. He IS the new covenant. He is our example. He ate a piece of meat, (fish), after His resurrection to prove He was “real” and alive to His followers. GOD told Peter in a vision in the book of Acts to “rise Peter, kill and eat” to show him salvation thru the Jewish Messiah Jesus is for all people, but also making making a point that ALL meat is now “clean”for the Jewish followers of Jesus. As a Jesus person, I disagree with religion of any persuasion becoming a platform to push personal beliefs and turning them into dogma. Religious Christians are the worst offenders. What a mess we’ve made!! Thank goodness for people like you ladies to join forces and push against the tide of societies wrong headed beliefs about REAL FOOD! 😄🙌💖
