ha!
I love invader zim and I am an introvert. Programming block aproved!
Sorry but I ruined the Minecraft number 😞😐😔😭😕

Pretty much😂😂
Honestly, the concept of an adult programming block on a network that is targeted for preschoolers under the age of 6 would be a failure to begin with since like you said there’s a huge age gap between 1-6 year olds and 18+ unlike Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, where the target audience for CN are 7-15 and 18+ for Adult Swim.
They should've invested that money into Nick@Nite
@@AmusingLuis indeed, especially since really not a lot of people watch Nick@Nite
The target audience for CN is much younger I started watching it when I was 4
@@joel11469 I agree, I think it would be nice if Nickelodeon actually rebranded Nick@Nite to be similar to Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.
Nah Cartoon Network is more 7-12 and most of adult swim is 13+
Sad we never got NickDad, where it was just Backyardigans followed by four hours of MMA reruns.
Not sad. Gendered marketing is shit!
NickDad was basically Spike TV
Nickelodeon tried to copy Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" block with their "NickMom" block, but failed EPICALLY.
If anything they should've just added MTV to nick Jr as the rip off
“What Was Carol Brady Thinking” Was just a bunch of Brady Bunch episodes with humorous pop-up comments laid over the show.
Sadly that is one of the two shows from the block that I actually remember next to Instant Mom
it would be a April Fools joke saying "NickMom returns"
Yes, It would tho
I have to admit, Instant Mom is probably the only good show to come out of NickMom, and *that’s sad.*
What about NickMom Night Out?
When i was 4 or 5 i was confused on why cartoons suddenly switched to this
Same
I can't believe it's been 10 years since the block came to be, if they want a block in the night, it should've aimed at teenagers, remember Noggin and the N, they're demographics were closer than ever that time.
i dont tbink they should try it again. mainly due to the fact TeenNick exist. if anything, they should make an adult block over there
Wy
The weird thing about The N was that it started at 6pm eastern, when kids were still awake. It would have been better to drag out Noggin by 2 hours with a bedtime wind down block the way Sprout did.
@@AmusingLuis they tried that with the nick rewind block which was old shows from the 90's geared towards young adults. it also failed.
Interesting video! NickMom possibly wouldn't have been a dumpster fire of a block if it was probably on TeenNick or something, and if the shows were actually interesting or very appealing to the target audience.
Honestly, it is absolutely shocking how someone at Viacom or Nickelodeon thought "Hey, you know how Adult Swim's on a channel that has a age demographic closer to it? (CN) Well let's make our own AS but for moms, and put it on a channel made only for preschoolers!" and they just approved of it.
I think if they were to try a Nick version of Adult Swim again, they would most likely know what they're doing this time and get things right.
nick & nite:
TeenNick already had The 90s Are All That
"Hey, you know how Adult Swim's on a channel that has a age demographic closer to it? (CN) Well let's make our own AS but for moms, and put it on a channel made only for preschoolers!"💀
The concept of NickMom could have worked despite what many consider to be a huge age gap between the Nick Jr. and NickMom demographics, the problem here is that the shows they aired were for the most part raunchy comedies that clashed with the wholesome and kidfriendly daytime programming. Had they aired something more for the whole family...who knows, hindsight is 20/20.
i think it was trying to hard on the lineup :=
@@AmusingLuis Luis Nick Jr First started in 1988 not 2013. Nick Jr is way older than that.
@@pikachuhutch234 it started in 1988 not 1987
@@TajmirTheRandomFan Ok. I just edited that comment.
The N and Nick@Nite have that. Not stuff to inappropriate but stuff kids probably wouldn't like but not to inappropriate but still for adults and teens.
And nothing of value was lost 😅(great vid as always!)
Hi Glenn lol
@@studioarentain3960 hi Nik!
I thought this block was a strange dream
I Remember Hearing About This Channel Back In The Day, Looking Back, It Is Strangely Nostalgic! (despite me never watching any of the shows)
The only memory i had of this block was my flu addled head thinking that since i was to become a teen soon nick was forcing me to watch terrible sitcoms. I found adultswim shortly after but for some reason never held the same opinion as nickmom, probably because Robot Chicken, Family Guy, and ATHF in their halcyon days were on display. I'm a grown ass man now and i still watch cartoons on a whim, if only i could tell my younger self that everything was going to be (mostly) ok.
Oh man. Reminds me of the time I was sick in bed, couldn't get up for the remote, and was subjected (no pun intended) to hours of Lab Rats.
I remember crying when it was night and my mom took me to my bed, I saw Nick Mom start to play on the TV.
I was a toddler at that time.
Generation Alpha
@@mattyian1208 what?
@@mattyian1208ya do know some gen Zs were still toddlers in 2013 and 2012? I am Gen Z and I was a toddler in 2012
YESSS SOMEBODY WHO REMEMBERS THIS. i still watched the shows on there lol.
hahahaha to an extent!!
7:43 that part got me good 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I actually remember watching it. It's not like my parents gave a shit but I remember feeling bad (for lack of a better term) for watching it. I was 9/10 when I watched it and so many of the jokes flew right over my head but the whole block had that sort of millennial BuzzFeed vibe (if that makes sense).
Instant Mom was pretty good, they moved it over to Nickelodeon/NickAtNite to give it a chance, I remember it airing along with See Dad Run, another show that actually wasn't half bad.
But, all in all it was definitely a flop. I mean I can't imagine many moms actually chose to tune to Nick Jr. to watch this and they probably only tuned in if it was the last channel on. Plus, I think with kids channels it should always be 24 hours. As someone who was sick often as a kid, it's nice to have something on at night. Plus, I remember they used to air older Nick Jr shows in the middle of the night, many of which I grew to love (like Franklin, Little Bear, Gullah Gullah Island, etc.) but I really only got to watch them when I was sick because they were on super late at night.
To be honest, I actually like the sign-on warning that NickMom used to play before they shut down:
"In just a few minutes, Nick Jr. is switching over to NickMom: a place just for you, to entertain you and make you laugh without the kids 'cause we know that some of those funny parts about being a mom are not kid-friendly. We've made sure there are other places the young ones can get more Nick Jr, but in just a few minutes, NickMom is only for the grown-ups. See you there without the kids."

Nick@nite should be the adult one
Nite: yeah why not?
Nick: what
Jr: dad who's he
Sorry for rp here im tired of bruh moment on comment
i shouldn't judge books by their covers, but those shows look so "how do you do, fellow moms"-ish 💀
I remember nickmom, I saw it a few times during the weekend because I was allowed to stay up after 10PM (when it was on), I wasn’t interested in it because I thought it was boring. I never got in trouble for watching it, but thats probably because my family never really cared on the stuff I watched (I watched shows like family guy and south park ever since I was a toddler)
i never saw it either. but i vaguely remember their existence 😅
i watched south park when i was 5 too but never cared about the foul humor
I remember it clearly (I was 6 when the programming block started and 9 when it ended) and I HATED it. It especially sucked if I woke up very early (like around 1 or 2 am) and had to wait until like 3 am or so just for that stupid NickMom block to end its nightly run and be able to watch some reruns of the older Nick Jr shows.
Oh well, at least there were other channels/programming blocks such as Disney Channel (they used to air reruns of many 2000s shows during the early morning hours), Boomerang, Adult Swim, and of course, TeenNick's "The 90s Are All That" block that I could turn to instead.
Still thought (and still think to this very day) that NickMom was one of the stupidest things to ever come out of Nickelodeon.
Honestly, I think NickMom should’ve just been a 24/7 channel instead of a programming block.
And be completely separate from a show for toddlers
Idk, If it didn’t survive as a block, Then it most likely wouldn’t survive as a Channel
@@Bowsermmbbrealit probably would’ve survived if it aired on teennick or nick@nite
It would’ve done better if it was on Nicktoons tbh
@@spiritairfan nah it would’ve done even worse than on nickjr lol
2:43 you know, for the TeenNick to MTV spot, you could have also said NickRewind (a retro block that aired between 2011-2022 on TeenNick that aired older NickToons that would appeal to the type of person who would still be interested in animation in their teenage years) to Comedy Central (a similar channel to modern MTV, but it's not all day Ridiculousness, it's all night South Park [the day is also filled with Office and Seinfeld reruns] with that rare Futurama rerun at 8am in the morning).
The cradle to grave strategy can work with different networks if your interests are different compared to others.
A better name would be "NickSenior"
Another awesome video
Thanks !!!!
I remember the NickMom bumpers scaring me as a kid
Interestingly, I actually did notice the block when I was watching TV one day. I was scrolling through the guide, and noticed "Instant Mom" in the Nick Jr. channel space.
I remember nick mom whenever i had to go to sleep... I switched to sprout when that came on lol
When you played the 2012 nick jr bumpers i got nostalgic lol
Edit: The only show i remember is instant mom
4:12 Bro was tryin' to get cancelled 💀
That Cartoon Network thing you did was spot on. I had to grab the remote
I NEVER, in a million years never ever watched nick mom.
yeah neither did i. it was a dumb idea
I used to watch it back when I watched nick jr
The fact this video has less than 100 views in an hour is surprising
its a new video still 😅 im sure shares and recommendations would help it grow!!!
still more views than nick mom
Haha, I remember this from when I was real young. Not only did moms hate it, the kids did too.
I remember seeing the promos as a 6 year old at the time, and I have no idea hat the hell was going on and my mom forbids me to watch it at like 8pm. Now as I gotten older and more wiser, I noticed that NickMom was.....not that good and it was doomed from the start. Like, they already have Nick@Nite, why even making another one that doesn't work because your core audience is basically middle aged moms who hate their kids...IN A PRESCHOOL CHANNEL!?
Even the promos feel like they're trying way too hard to be cool and hip to moms that their tagline of being "motherfunny" doesn't land well. Even the online comics have a potential to be funny, but something about them felt....off.
I get it, parenting is hard and I know that feeling that it can be stressful, but these people should've known better and think twice of the marketing. I once saw this scale about "How done with parenting are you today?" and the scale is from green to being completely under control and red which is "so effin done", and I feel quite concerned about it. It's no surprise why this block ended faster than a failed trip to a hotel.
In the end, NickMom could've been great, just not on Nick Jr and more fitting on TeenNick. Because when I think of NickMom, I think of watching Zoey101 and then some raunchy comedy show once the block started.
When I was little I used to wake up to this show CRYING because I was scared of it 😭
?
How was this scary? It just looks like a bunch of boring sitcoms and stand up comedy you shouldn't have understood yet.
Personally, this block would never fail to bore me to death. It wasn't scary or anything, just horrifically BORING.
might be thinking of nickatnite bud
I remember seeing some of nickmom when I was little
any good memories?
I don’t know. I did watch it on demand. I had comcast.
I saw occasional episodes
bro I remember I used to HATE NICKMOM’S I’m so glad it’s forgotten because this was the worst idea ever and I hope it never comes back
A Fun Fact That Not Many People Know Is That Nickmom Was So Controversial That It Was Banned From Even Being Launched In I As Canada!
Didn’t even know this existed! Heard of instant mom though but it was probably when it was moved to another network
I can’t wait to seen NickDad
Ok
I think they missed the point of why Adult Swim Nick@Nite and The N work. For those who don't know The N was a block on Noggin it still exists as its own channel but its now TeenNick. Yeah this shouldn't have aired on a preschool channel yeah Cartoon Network has Adult Swim. But Adult Swim gives warnings and airs stuff thats TV-PG first like King of the Hill or Bobs Burgers once it goes to American Dad thats when it gets inappropriate or right now Adult Swim starts with classic Cartoon Network shows until 7PM than it airs King of the Hill and the usual other Adult Swim line ups.
I forgot all about NickMom. I remember those bumpers and remember the Instant Mom show but because it on NickJr and because i only cared for cartoons I never watched it (i also wasn't anywhere near the target demographic)
I remember that Nickmom aired a 1-off episode of Rugrats at some point, random tidbit of info I remember from childhood.
Actually, Instant Mom was technically a Nick@Nite original before it aired on NickMom.
I Think NickMom is returning to the Nick Jr. Channel from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on October 31st and streaming on Paramount+ on October 24th.
ARE YOU SERIOUS????? source?
@@AmusingLuis maybe. maybe not.
Where's your source for that information?
Aged like milk
Source: your a$$
I remember nick mom, this was back when we first got Nick Jr. On spectrum cable, me and my brothers were allowed to watch it because my parents didn't care if we watch adult shows or not, but the old nick jr sign off is a bit sad and nostalgic for me, i remember Yo Gabba Gabba was always on at 6:00am and that's what i was excited for 😅
As much of failed block as it was, I kind of wish that there was a night block on Nick Jr (given that most kids are asleep by 8-10pm).
I seen this video earlier tonight and I seen it now and he change the thumbnail the original one which is orange with the NickMom logo on it
Nickintrovert would be better if it was called Nicktrovert
Honestly, I think it's really funny that these companies that make content for children try to throw in adult jokes for parents or mediocre content for parents, to "give them a break from cartoons", meanwhile parents in real life are binge watching wholesome kid shows like Bluey and are MUCH more entertained by that rather than some raunchy "adult" shows that ironically are much less mature in terms of humor and storytelling. What moms out there were watching NickMoms? If they're gonna watch anything from Nick but don't want to watch "kid shows", it would probably be something that showed on Nick@Nite, like Friends, George Lopez, Full House, etc.
What mom out there in the 2010s was looking forward to watching NickMoms? I've seen some of the stand up shows they showed there, which basically consisted of bratty and bitter gen x moms whining about how much they hate their children. I think moms around this time would've rather watched Full House, Friends, or something like that.
remember seeing this back in the good old days
Glad Nickmom was not on for like 10pm-6am that is when Nick Jr Sign On
congrats on the sponsor bruh
“What Was Carol Brady Thinking”💀
i wish it was called, "Nick parents" for gay couples and single dad's.
edit: this is not a joke
I remember this on Nick Jr. It was awful. Why would they put adult content on a kiddie channel?
*Cartoon Network/Cartoonito and Adult Swim*
As a PBS Kid PBS Kids has PBS Once it signs off on the main PBS channel on all PBS affiliates while the 24/7 channel containers to Broadcast
Came here in 2024, and I never even knew NickMom even existed 😂but I learned something new💀
Nick Jr was it's own channel in the UK from 2000
MTV & Comedy Central exist?! 😠
ComedyCentHD has shows that are not for kids MTV MTV IS RATED PG 13 12 OR 12+
@@ConanClifford But most of Nickmom’s shows Mom’s already watch
I wouldn't have known of The New Adventures of Old Christine without it, so that's something I guess. Good show :l
I remember NickMom. I always knew the channel seemed like an accident waiting to happen.
I just love learning about things I hated as a toddler. Now I wanna look through commercial compilations of the block to find a promo that scared me lol
I thought Instant Mom was on Nick at Nite.
6:51 well that and That 70’s Show was on it
You may not get alot of view but I love your video you should make a 10 hour video someday
I think the algorithm directed me here because I watched Chadtronic's video...
Yeah this whole programming block is weird.
I rember this block i only saw it online
I know Nicktoons Aired Panty & Stocking from 2006-2012
If you think that, you didn't pass kindergarten.
@@BlueJ718Its 100% a hoax, since panty and stocking didnt even start airing in 2006
When I first saw nickmom I thought it was made up. Why would they even have that on a little kid network. Especially if there was a little kid watching nick jr at the time when it was on
It's honestly best to watch Nick@Nite
In the UK we also have a delay channels four example NICK JR +1
+1 makes more sense than the US Being Weird LMBO
I actually think it lts a great idea parents would keep the same channel and be on their phones and possibly fall asleep with it on so without even trying they will get views and get them raidings
Nick mom is making motherhood motherf**ker
I never even knew this existed and I was one of those Nickelodeon kids of the '90s. 😳
The only good thing to come from the block was I found the new adventures of old Christine a show I didn’t give a chance during it broadcast run from 2006-2010 on cbs being it was a Wednesday night show at 8:00 pm but now I love the show that tvland doesn’t give a good time slot to begin with a 5 am Sunday morning time slot and has been removed from max
One question what time when NickMom starts in Alaska
Around 6PM
My Mother only watched the block one time. She thought it was boring.
Trust, PBS is also getting a adult block by airing family guy probably Beavis and Butthead and others.
Good luck with that one kids
YES I KNOW SOMEONE KNEW ABOUT THIS when i was a child when i stayed late nickmom would come on screen i never knew what it was but i enjoyed it i guess when it got shutted down then i became confused a while later i tried looking for anything nickmom related i got some stuff but not much until now!
But we still have a problem since Nick jr is now 24/7 there’s now a marathon of Paw Patrol. people don’t like it. Should NickMom come back?
mmmmmm. i dont think Nick Mom would work but maybe a block for slightly older audience, similar to the old Noggin, or The N
Well The N is now a separate 24/7 channel now known as TeenNick. and Noggin is now a separate streaming app that has Nick Jr. programming and not old Noggin programming. The question is what is of a programming block that could be an idea to cut off a huge chunk of Paw Patrol?
While, I'm against NickMom, I'm also against the Paw Patrol bloat, like there's no variety in the line-up anymore.
@@auxisolano8025Maybe bring back Nickrewind and play old Nicktoons like As Told by Ginger, Rugrats, Hey, Arnold, etc.

Who remembers when Noggin and The N shared a tv channel 12 hours a day every day until 2007?
Well, now, that worked, because it gave the 5 and under crowd something to watch while the teenagers were at school during the day, and then it gave the 12 and over crowd something to watch in the evenings while the 5 and under crowd were either in bed or watching Sprout in another room.

Yeah, knowing NickMom and its failure, is it bad that I believe Adult Swim has a lot of better content?
why didnt they just make a nickmom block on night at nite, does that still exist?
In the uk we never had this. Mainly adult programmes in the uk were . Chanmel 5 and 4 and ITV
2000s-2011 etc
Coronation street
Hollyoaks
Neighbours
Eastenders
Ugly Becky
CIS
NCIS
Scrubs
New Girl
Medium
House
The mentalist
Skins
Inbetweeners
Gossip girl
Supernatural
Primeval
Etc that were on mainly their own seperate adult entertainment or themes channels. Not all on.
The same kids network which I find odd. Like Adult swim.
Only in America
See the uk is alot different or any other country is different etc .
Yea, pop is 24 hour lol
I want to agree with you Nick mom was actually the worst Nick Jrs adult night time program we ever see but you know something that maybe Nickelodeon think about something maybe bring back the end because back in 2015 Noggin just brought back but only in the app so I'm thinking maybe they shouldn't actually think about bringing back the N maybe that way they could do mix-up of some adult content and some teenage content and maybe that should work out maybe they shouldn't think about that
5:55 my reaction my book is coming, more like going to summer school! I HATE SUMMER SCHOOL!
I liked instant mom tho, it wasn’t too good but it was kinda fun
The worst part is that Noggin and The N originally shared a channel too - eventually they realized this was a bad idea and gave both their own channels. Clearly they learned nothing from their own mistakes...
At least The N had mostly good content and the demographic gap between preschool aged kids and teens was smaller than the gap between preschool aged children and adults.
NickMom ceased operations?
(I never really thought much of NickMom)
Hi I want to start a commentary channel talking about topics like this. Any ideas?
honestly dude. make videos on stuff you have a good knowledge on. even if its completely niche. nobody else made a video on NickMom, so i knew it existed, but i had to do research
I watched the premiere of NickMom back in 2012. Didn't watch the programming though. Looked like crap.
