Funhouse. The final shot, tony smoking the cigar then cut to the ocean waves, gives me chills to this day. It’s the duality of man, illustrated perfectly in 2 images… we first see tony, smoking a cigar in his mansion, celebrating his daughters graduation, surrounded by family and friends, the picture of success- but underneath, suffering the betrayal and loss of his lifelong friend, and unable to express his pain. He pushes it down. Cut to the ocean waves, a scene of natural beauty and power, hiding Tony’s dark secret underneath…..
And Angie is there at Meadow’s graduation all pissed off cuz pussy is late but little does she know that rat bastard is at the bottom of the fuckin Atlantic
My favorite episode is Funhouse. Half of the episode is inside of Tony’s brain and it shows how paranoid he is, his secret love for Dr Melfi, Tony finally confronting Pussy by manipulating him to get on a boat while having food poisoning or if it was stressing on who was the real rat everything about that episode is gold.
I agree, the dream revealing the fact that Pussy was the rat and the detective was right were so good. Not to mention how Tony along with Pauli and Silvio talk to him before taking him out. Probably the best season finale from the Sopranos
The Legend of Tennessee Moltisanti has to be my number one. Chris asking Paulie where his arc is will always give me chills. Such a good way to really dive into Chris as a character in the first season. The foreshadowing of his fate that early on is chilling.
Crazy to not have Pine Barrens and Blue Comet in a top 10 list. Same with Mayham, the scene where Tony is talking to other Tony in front of the house makes that episode top 10 because it's so emotional.
My favorite episode of Season 4 is “Whitecaps”. The drama of the episode really draws you in to the story. My favorite Season 6 episode is “Chasing It”. Once again, the drama draws you in, and it’s nice to see how caring Tony is towards the family of one of his former men.

I think Sopranos Home Movies is my favourite. I watched the whole show in one go last year, and seeing Tony get more and more toxic over the seasons, and finally Bobby just punching him in the face was so satisfying. It had me crying with laughter.
Especially since Tony just couldn't let it go after he got the beat down. As much as we love him (Gandolfini's portrayal may be more accurate) & the show, he was truly a miserable prick.
@mrd3016 All the times he made fun of Bobby made him be Santa claus when he didn't want to making his dad to do the hit when he's dad was sick he blamed him for him getting shot this was a long time coming
I remember seeing “College” thinking that’s what the whole show was going to be about: a mob boss in the modern day balancing everyday life with family and societal obligations.
My favourite probably "University". The whole Ralph / Tracee thing was pretty shocking! and the kinks "living on a thin line" just bookends the episode so beautifully...
Ralph was really hard to watch in this episode... Until this episode, I thought he is just clown and cked up moron. Since then I knew, he is just pure psychopath and I didnt believe his emotions a bit after Justin got hit by that arrow. Just obligatory act
That one’s my favorite episode, too. I’ve watched it at least a dozen times by now in the past year. It was really nice to see Tony actually get a glimpse of the atrocities surrounding the monster that is organized crime; worse, he knows he can’t escape it, as he’s the one in charge of it all, no matter how direct or indirect.
I've just put in my favourite episodes in order (you'll see it atop the comments) and University is certainly in there. Not unhindered by any means by that great song by the mighty Kinks. Pour moi, the three best uses of music, amongst all the magic David Chase et al dredged up were- Bronze - this one. Silver - that sinister drumbeat which begun the start of the end for Tony, with the Bard of Salford - John Cooper-Clarke's - Evidently Chickentown. Gold - Tiny tears by The Tindersticks in my favourite episode.
Tracee's story is undoubtedly one of the most powerful and emotionally resonating in the whole series. That said, my problem with "University" is they parallel her life with Meadow's (Meadow is dating Noah), one of the most annoying characters in the whole series, and the fact we have to endure him onscreen just brings the whole episode down for me unfortunately.
I really liked that one episode with the 20 minute long dream sequence. That dream was truly unlike anything else ive ever seen in a show before and I honestly don't know if any show will ever do something at that level again
I just watched the show for the first time and I definitely agree, it really feels like the final episode before the final stretch of the show where everything hits the fan - a breather episode and a turning point at the same time while also being mostly a dream sequence. I also feel this way about “Whoever Did This”, definitely another turning point in the series and has my favorite scene in the whole show (Tony killing Ralph) plus I love how eerie the last scene is despite nothing really happening.
Ken Leung was absolutely brilliant as Carter Chong • he definitely made a substantial impact despite his short-lived screen time. He also killed it as the savage Triad thug in Rush Hour 😂
@@Jimmy1982Playlists honestly, the scene after the poker game when him and Junior are in the room and he explains how his father got pissed off cuz he got a 96 on a test. Great acting.
My absolute favorite episode is and always will be “Funhouse.” And just like your number one has a personal reason attached to it, “Funhouse” has a personal reason attached to my love. My wife and I went to a seafood restaurant way back in 2003 and I got food poisoning. I had a fever, I was vomiting, I was hallucinating…it took 3 days to shake. Years later I saw “Funhouse” (I was slow to come to the Sopranos) on DVD and I knew one of the writers obviously suffered as I did.
I like that you had some relatively niche and underrated episodes in your list - I always prefer seeing people's purely personal favourites lists of episodes - ones that they might enjoy for very specific or unique reasons - over the standard "objectively best" episodes where the well-known group of episodes are always given (e.g., Pine Barrens, Long Term Parking, etc.).
Yes it did. I'm sure you know that Chase had to fight with HBO to even get it to air. They had never seen (all of television had never seen tbh) a leading anti-hero of that magnitude. Paved the way for Breaking Bad & The Wire.)
@@mrd3016 Yeah, I saw an interview with Bryan Cranston, where he claims the Walter White character could never have existed without the Soprano series paving the way first!

Nice list, From Where To Eternity is definitely an underrated gem. I love that whole paranormal side to the Sopranos with 3 o'clock and the psychic and Tony explaining that soldiers don't go to hell. My top three would probably be Pine Barrens, To Save Us All From Satan's Power (I love the winter shit) and The Happy Wanderer. Commendatori and House Arrest deserve honourable mentions.
Great list from the greatest TV show ever made. It's been a few years since I've watched The Sopranos and I think a re-watch of the entire series is in order.

Solid list! I think mine would be pretty similar, except Funhouse would be my number 1. Starts of simple, then gets increasingly intense and eventually gets to my favorite scene. It has everything, Pussy admitting to being a rat, him having a last good moment with the gang (tequila), the crushing reality of the situation (did she even exist?), Sil leaving the room and then them finally doing the job. And then Tony gets back home and possibly the best season ends
Finally someone who knows what he/she is talking about 😂 My favorite scene is him with the horse in the living room getting upset the horse can't stay inside 😂😂😂😂
Excellent video Kino. Really appreciate the inclusion of Soprano Home Movies. I would definitely have thrown Funhouse, University and The Blue Comet in there though
I am a Ken Leung fan. His character Leon on POI is what Carter accepting his crazy and trying to enjoy it looks like. Edie Falco murdered Whitecaps. She made the anger, disappointment, and sadness of 20 years of self-deception seem so real. I think James did his usual Tony bullshit, but Edie was brand new in that episode. If anyone still idolized Tony after Cold Cuts they missed the point of the whole show. The number of times he tried to destroy people for no other reason than to try to fill the black hole inside of himself and passed it off as some kind of strategy are too many, but this episode should have left no misunderstanding of who he really was. Not a strategic badass, just a scared little man.
Soprano Home Movies is probably my favorite but it's hard to pick just 1. and i'm glad you brought up cold cuts. imo that's the most underrated episode in the series
Top notch list Kino. Couldn't agree more. One observation: When Pussy answers Tony with "Nuthin", as to what's going on, it was quite possibly the most relaxing moment of the series.
For me its 10. Whoever Did This 9. Walk Like Man 8. Irregular Around The Margins 7. Amour Fou 6. Whitecaps 5. The Blue Comet 4. Made In America 3. Kennedy And Heidi 2. Long Term Parking 1. The Second Coming
Great list. We have a few in common. I almost included Amour Fou. I can argue it is one of the best titles as well. I skipped Kennedy & Heidi because, even though Chris' death is so important & well done, the rest of the episode falters a tad. Long Term Parking is a masterpiece of editing.
1. Mr. Ruggiero's Neighborhood 2. Commendatori 3. Whitecaps 4. The legend of Tennessee Moltisanti 5. Soprano home movies 6. University 7. Cold cuts 8. House Arrest 9. Johnny Cakes 10. The Second Coming
As for your favourite, did you notice how the camera pans across Tony's hands when Carm is praying for Chris to see the truth? The ultimate thing that will kill Chrissy. I couldn't believe it when I saw that recently!!
My Favorite episode is Luxury Lounge. Just a very well put together episode from the plot, the many different story lines and how well they all fit into one Masterpiece episode. Plus the Spanish guitar roll credits by Francisco Tárrega's Recuerdos de Alhambra polished the entire episode off Perfectly .. You should do a video on the best Roll Credit songs in Sopranos... Every ending of An episode had Great music kinda summing up what the episode was about !!!
Sixth-Season Episode 14, “Stage 5” “Evidently Chickentown” Second-Season Episode 12, "Knight in White Satin Armor" "I Saved the World Today" Just a few of my personal Favorite end credit songs...
I would love to see a video on Jackie Jr. His arc tells a lot about the kind of person tony is in how he handles that situation. Great video as usual, thanks Kino!
The Legend of Tennessee Moltisanti is one of my favorites. Pine Barrens is a classic and Isabella is also a great penultimate episode for Season 1 with a lot of the drama coming to a head. Also Blue Comet is very underrated being the penultimateb episode of the series.
Great list. I just found your channel so I am working my way through all of your videos. The one episode that I would have included is Marco Polo. To me, that is the most comforting episode of the series. Love the family dynamic at Hugh’s party.
Tony and his crews reaction to seeing that Janice took care of the Richie problem for them is hilarious. The way Tony feigns empathy for his sister then has to try to not laugh as she turns her back is some great dark comedy
No particular order, entered BEFORE I watched Kino's video: 1.) Whitecaps. 2.) Blue Comet. 3.) University. 4.) Soprano's Home Movies. 5. )Made In America. 7.) Free Parking. 8.) College. 9.) Funhouse. 10.) Pine Barrens. 11.) The Test Dream, (I tried to keep it to 10.)
Great list Kino! Richie is the darkest character & his murder was totally unexpected. Note: We usually see killings done in the penultimate episodes. I have to correct your choice of first pick man! We don't include our personal experiences like a birthday when writing criticism. You were doing great up until then brother.)
10. Watching too much television. 9. Whoever did this. 8. Christopher. 7. Mr & Mrs Sacrimoni request. 6. Marco Polo. 5. Kennedy and Heidi. 4. The weight. 3. Employee of the Month. 2. Whitecaps. 1. Pine Barrens.
My top ten constantly changes. You discover something new with every re-watch. Overall great list... I would have added Blue Comet and lost the Gloria Trillo episode.
Interesting list but I am surprised no Pine Barrens. The humor in that episode is classic. I like many of these will have to go through the series to make my list though can't do it off the top of my head. I like how you dissect this show. I've watched it all the way through twice and you still catch stuff I missed or glossed over.
Really glad I watched this video - my list is very similar but I have Pine Barrens as the most fun to watch. So funny. I just realized the asian sidekick in ''Remember When' has a prominent role in the HBO series 'Industry'. He's a great actor and while watching Industry I couldn't place him.
I love when Paulie goes to see the psychic. Not only because someone finally freaks out Paulie for a change but because I came from only 14 miles or so away from Nyack. Gotta have that hometown pride.
Amour Fou and Pine Barrens are episodes I see myself rewatching over and over and often back to back. They go so well together. Gloria’s first appearance is in the episode “He is Risen” and she looks beautiful and enticing but there is such a contrast on Amour Fou. Her transformation comes off like a horror movie and she gives me the creeps. Her character gets so dark.
Yep. And the song when she & Tony end the series in the boat's bed is "The Captain" by Kasey Chambers, which has become a personal favorite of thousands of us because of that episode.
I love a lot of these and ones mentioned in the comments, but what about The Ride? Paulie seeing the virgin Mary is the biggest vibe check of the whole show, and I love the way the episode ends when he goes to visit Nucci
Your favorite episode isn’t From Where to Eternity…it’s Pine Barrens my friend. Pine Barrens is everybody’s favorite episode. That’s never been disputed by anybody.
Great list. I love luxury lounge! The whole thing with Sir Ben Kingsley and Christopher is funny. Especially when he's staring him down on the plane. I'ma chef so I love the whole thing with Artie Bucco and Benny.
OMG... 😂🤦♂️ That look on Chris' face when he's staring at "Sir Kingsley" from between the seats kills me every time! There's so many different contradictory emotions going on in that look lol
6:54 Ken Leung, a versatile actor known for his roles in "The Sopranos," "Saw," and even the action-comedy blockbuster "Rush Hour," has left an indelible mark on the entertainment landscape. His portrayal of Carter Chong in "The Sopranos" demonstrated his ability to navigate the complex world of organized crime with a nuanced performance that captivated audiences. Simultaneously, his role as Detective Steven Sing in the first "Saw" film showcased his talent in the horror genre, contributing to the suspense and intensity of the storyline. Adding another layer to his diverse repertoire, Ken Leung's appearance in "Rush Hour" further underscored his versatility. In this iconic action-comedy, he played the character Sang, demonstrating his comedic timing alongside stars like Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Leung seamlessly transitioned from the intensity of crime dramas to the humor of action-packed comedies, proving his ability to excel in a wide range of roles. Beyond his on-screen success, Ken Leung's contributions to the entertainment industry extend to the rich tapestry of characters he has brought to life, each contributing to the overall cultural impact of the projects he has been a part of. His ability to navigate various genres, from crime dramas to horror and comedy, highlights his adaptability as an actor and further solidifies his place as a respected and accomplished figure in the world of film and television.
Top 10 in no particular order: Pine Barrens, Funhouse, The Weight, College, The Test Dream, Stage 5, Members Only, Isabella, Commendatori, Where's Johnny?
Second on your list has my all time favorite ending. Something about them bumping into all of the other folks at the restaurant, very surreal and twilight zone-esk.
My top 10 10. Pax Soprana 9. Join the Club 8. Unidentified Black Males 7. The Happy Wanderer 6. Long Term Parking 5. Cold Cuts 4. Stage 5 3. Funhouse 2. The Knight in White Satin Armor 1. Whitecaps
My favorite episode is when Pauly and Chrissy went to collect from that Russian special forces guy, get into a fight with him over being disrespectful to him over having cool stuff in his apartment, end up kidnapping him and taking him to the woods to kill and bury him, where he beats them up and flees and they end up stuck in the freezing snow eating ketchup packets after Pauli lost his shoe and his hair looked the worst I have ever seen. Hilarious writing! I always wondered if that Russian guy would make another appearance in a later episode.

I thought the same & concluded that the only reason they paid him his half was because if they didn't...
If you know Asians you know he did
Test Dream. The "you're not prepared" speech gets me.
Finally someone who knows what he/she is talking about 😂
My favorite scene is him with the horse in the living room getting upset the horse can't stay inside 😂😂😂😂
I missed you! Loved The Wire recap 🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Excellent video Kino. Really appreciate the inclusion of Soprano Home Movies. I would definitely have thrown Funhouse, University and The Blue Comet in there though
Agreed. Feel free to check my list for proof. ;)
From Where To Eternity is easily one of the most underrated episodes of the series, fantastic picks
I personally have Isabella in my top 3 and I’m surprised a lot of people don’t even got it on their lists
It's a fantastic episode. This is why we get our own lists.
I HAVE IT IN MY TOP 3 TOO i thought i was the only one
Soprano Home Movies is probably my favorite but it's hard to pick just 1. and i'm glad you brought up cold cuts. imo that's the most underrated episode in the series
Top notch list Kino. Couldn't agree more. One observation: When Pussy answers Tony with "Nuthin", as to what's going on, it was quite possibly the most relaxing moment of the series.
Pauly always made bust out in laughter 😂😂😂😂 one of the funniest characters ever lol
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS KINO
For me its
10. Whoever Did This
9. Walk Like Man
8. Irregular Around The Margins
7. Amour Fou
6. Whitecaps
5. The Blue Comet
4. Made In America
3. Kennedy And Heidi
2. Long Term Parking
1. The Second Coming
Very nice list
amour fou is perfect
@@EliBrigante hells yeah
Great list. We have a few in common. I almost included Amour Fou. I can argue it is one of the best titles as well. I skipped Kennedy & Heidi because, even though Chris' death is so important & well done, the rest of the episode falters a tad. Long Term Parking is a masterpiece of editing.
@@mrd3016 whats your issue with KaH?
“He is Risen” is easily one of my favorites
Have you heard the good news?
@@JangianTV 😂😂 He is risen

1. Mr. Ruggiero's Neighborhood
2. Commendatori
3. Whitecaps
4. The legend of Tennessee Moltisanti
5. Soprano home movies
6. University
7. Cold cuts
8. House Arrest
9. Johnny Cakes
10. The Second Coming
Great list. Legend...Moltisanti is so well written. See what I did there?
Nah this is a troll. Mr ruggieros neighbourhood and Johnny cakes lol.
Sixth-Season Episode 14, “Stage 5” “Evidently Chickentown”
Second-Season Episode 12, "Knight in White Satin Armor" "I Saved the World Today"
Just a few of my personal Favorite end credit songs...
I would love to see a video on Jackie Jr. His arc tells a lot about the kind of person tony is in how he handles that situation. Great video as usual, thanks Kino!
7:08 despite being in the show for only 2-3 minutes this dude was one of the coldest character on the show. That look he gives Ralphie was insane
Wow love you and Preston! Thanks for watching
@@PureKino You need a whole separate video on why Pine Barrens isn't on this list, my dude haha
The most amazing part to me is that you can be friends with people who haven’t seen the sopranos
5:58 ---> Jackie Jr was not overlooked, his fawtha saw to it. 😂
A crew has 1 capo…you’re legitimacy has been compromised 13:22
The Legend of Tennessee Moltisanti is one of my favorites. Pine Barrens is a classic and Isabella is also a great penultimate episode for Season 1 with a lot of the drama coming to a head. Also Blue Comet is very underrated being the penultimateb episode of the series.
Loved that Cold Cuts and Remember When got some love. I come back to those ones over and over.
I always enjoyed the part where Chrissy tells Paulie 3 o’clock and that the mobsters hell is an Irish bar where is st Patrick’s day every day
12:30 WARNING happy birthday songs
Solid choices, Kino!
Great choices! From Where to Eternity is absolutely Magnificent 💯
The fuckin guy who played the Medium should've won an Emmy, Kind spirit...... is your name Sonny?
Your #2 is my favorite episode! The acting between those two was jaw dropping! Rest Easy Big Jim!
University has my vote for most underrated episode
Agreed!
“For all debts public and private” and “Amour Fou” would be in my top 10
No particular order, entered BEFORE I watched Kino's video:
1.) Whitecaps.
2.) Blue Comet.
3.) University.
4.) Soprano's Home Movies.
5. )Made In America.
7.) Free Parking.
8.) College.
9.) Funhouse.
10.) Pine Barrens.
11.) The Test Dream,
(I tried to keep it to 10.)
Great list Kino! Richie is the darkest character & his murder was totally unexpected. Note: We usually see killings done in the penultimate episodes. I have to correct your choice of first pick man! We don't include our personal experiences like a birthday when writing criticism. You were doing great up until then brother.)
Omitting Pine Barrens is a missed opportunity. You’re on point with College and House Arrest.
Whitecaps is the greatest episode of television of all time.
Agree, but it’s painful to watch. I usually see Pine Barrens listed as the greatest episode as it’s fairly standalone and there’s some humor to it.
The Asian hit man also drives a green Honda del sol, as a true badass would
surprised there was no pine barrens. But im happy someone else shares my favorite episode :)
The ending to Cold Cuts is my most favorite scene in the Sopranos, hands down. Amazing
10. Watching too much television.
9. Whoever did this.
8. Christopher.
7. Mr & Mrs Sacrimoni request.
6. Marco Polo.
5. Kennedy and Heidi.
4. The weight.
3. Employee of the Month.
2. Whitecaps.
1. Pine Barrens.
My top ten constantly changes. You discover something new with every re-watch. Overall great list... I would have added Blue Comet and lost the Gloria Trillo episode.
Irregular Around The Margins is my fave. Great list!
Excellent picks!
Interesting list but I am surprised no Pine Barrens. The humor in that episode is classic. I like many of these will have to go through the series to make my list though can't do it off the top of my head. I like how you dissect this show. I've watched it all the way through twice and you still catch stuff I missed or glossed over.
You are a brave man not having Pine Barrens or Long Term Parking in your top 10 list.
Remember When is the lowest form of Favorite Episode
What about Long term parking, blue comet, inregular around the margins, made in America, funhouse, whoever did this and universety
Another cracker Sir, I love your passion for this seminal TV 📺 series, thanks again young man. 👍
Nice take on the series
"Calling All Cars", with the terrifying dream Tony had. That Shadow Livia scared the eternal piss out of me.
Your favorite episode isn’t From Where to Eternity…it’s Pine Barrens my friend. Pine Barrens is everybody’s favorite episode. That’s never been disputed by anybody.
The Asian hitman is unironically my favorite one-off character.
@@Jimmy1982Playlists lol so true!

Great job
Top 10 in no particular order: Pine Barrens, Funhouse, The Weight, College, The Test Dream, Stage 5, Members Only, Isabella, Commendatori, Where's Johnny?
Dude, it’s everyone I like too, Wow
Second on your list has my all time favorite ending. Something about them bumping into all of the other folks at the restaurant, very surreal and twilight zone-esk.
they're the biggest donors that's why they got the top tier positions
My top 10
10. Pax Soprana
9. Join the Club
8. Unidentified Black Males
7. The Happy Wanderer
6. Long Term Parking
5. Cold Cuts
4. Stage 5
3. Funhouse
2. The Knight in White Satin Armor
You should do one of these for The Wire. Just finished that show myself and it was fantastic
7:37 He's not wrong. That and dinner conversation. "Oh this casserole is so good." "the bread is soft." Like oh lord please, just don't say anything if you have nothing interesting to say, hahah. Addicted to the sound of your own voice or allergic to comfortable silence.
I’ve updated my list too many times by this point. There’s just too many amazing episodes for a simple top 10, but for now, these are mine:
1. Made In America
2. Long Term Parking
3. Funhouse
4. Pine Barrens
5. Whitecaps
6. Amour Fou
7. I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano
8. Soprano Home Movies
9. The Ride
10. Whoever Did This
Totally agree with you! But if I HAD TO pick a top 10, it'd look a lot like yours. Don't understand why Made In America doesn't get many mentions. It's perfection!
That final scene between Tony and Jun' is just... _DEVASTATING!_ And a reminder of how the show started.
Isabella & Long Term Parking
I agree with 6/10 on the list 'Irregular around the margins' 'Whoever did this' 'Long term parking' and 'Chasing it' replace the other 4 listed, can you guess which?
Sacré-bleu! Where me mama?? 😂
Still kills me everytime
I have only just started watching this show in 2023 on binge I LOVE IT SO FREAKING MUCH OMG I am up to season 6 and I don’t want it to end
How could you forget Pine Barrens??!! Whitecaps definitely #1 of course!!😎😎
