So glad there are top mechanics like you around, the guys at the main dealerships are only trained to do maintenance and put under so much pressure to get jobs done as quick as possible.
I want to thank Jimmy for posting this series of videos. I've learnt a lot of useful stuff about DPF's from watching this channel. Last week the idrive on our 2010 BMW 330d was showing a DPF issue. Bought mysef a Foxwell FT530 scanner, plugged it in and saw 50mbar back pressure at idle, plus 7000kms since last DPF regen. The car wasn't regenning due to a fault code on the MAF, which was solved with a MAF re-adaptation. Took the car for a circuit of the M60, during which the fault codes stayed clear and it's now down to 25mbar pressure at idle. I'll monitor it over the next few days to see if it comes down below 10. Very satisfying to get this issue licked without taking it to my local BMW specialist.
@@chucky2316 The Foxwell FT530 scanner comes with the software for 1 brand of your choice when you buy it. You can pay $80 for each additional brand you want on it. Making it a good choice for the home mechanic that sticks to one or two brands. It seems to be pretty good function wise. I've not looked at the injector functionality yet. When you swap between functions, eg checking for fault codes and then switching into live data it's slow. Which is not a disastor for the odd job here and there. A pro would be looking for a faster, covers all brands, pro tool.
Strange thing is I know loads of people that have done hundreds of thousands of miles in 7 Series and S Class diesels which were always Euro 6 in the G11/G12 and W222 models and we never had any DPF issues or AdBlue issues.
Lucky Euro 7 buyers will be experiencing DPF faults before they can even roll it off the forecourt. Jimmy might be wise to setup a fleet of mobile vans outside of dealerships in the near future 💵💵💵💵
Flippin eck Jimmy ! You must be working 7 days a week sorting out these problems ?? How many others are having these issues and spending a fortune and the problem not being solved ? Thank goodness for people like you fella saving the day !!
I have the same van just the vivaro version without pat tank. What Ive noticed you can't drive these vans gently because they dont heat up enough... engine too efficient. First I had dpf issues at 7000miles because of driving like a granny. But then you dont get the advertised 45-55mpg haha...
We had one if these in recently 21 plate . Peugeot replaced front cat and new dpf came back blocked 4 weeks later again they then replaced half the car 4 injectors. egr valve all the temperature sensors on the front cat and a new add blue tank . Car left dealer 1500 kms outside its warrenty with a 6 k bill junkers
I think the problem is there are no alternatives to diesel engines for commercial vehicles and the emissions levels are so tough that manufacturers have no answer to a reliable low emission van. Gone are the days when you could buy a van with 50k miles on it and abuse it for the next 150k miles with very little trouble. I have a 2008 T5 with 220k miles and it runs fine, change the oil when I can be arsed and most of the inside of the DPF has fallen out, still goes like a train and probably kills polar bears at a hundred metres ... although no smoke out the back! I also have a 2017 Transit Custom with 60k miles and that has had a new engine, DPF and turbo and I'm shit scared it's going to blow up at any minute. This isn't a Ford exclusive problem either, just more noticable as they sell 40k of these a year. Maybe better to buy a petrol van until electric finally catches up with the range and convenience of current vans.
Hi Jimmy , I'm about to top up my PAT fluid this weekend. I have a 2018 Peugeot 3008 2lt. I will be using the topdon 800BT to relearn the system , I see on Peugeot service box that 1lt of fluid is recommended and not to exceed 1.37l. so my question is when using the scan tool is there a section where I input how meany ml I've poured in ?? I would drive to you but I'm a fair distance lol cheers 😂😂
And some think modern diesels are cheaper to run than petrols as they do more mpg. Take into account the cost of all these DPF/additive issues, and any savings on fuel has soon gone!!
I am having the same issue with my 2022 Proace. They say that there is no problem with van and it is my driving style. They said change the oil every 2 or 3 thousand miles. its had like 3 oil changes and filters and its only done 9k. I cant afford another van. i still owe 20k on this one. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
I often feel like it'd be better to get a vehicle on some sort of month to month rental than to buy one. Despite the higher cost, at least you could just swap it out for another one when it starts to act up like this with no cure. Seems like the dealers/manufacturers feel no sense of responsibility at all, though they're perfectly happy to take tens of thousands off you to buy the vehicle. And when you consider as well all the downtime from work that the customer has to contend with, rental starts to make a lot more sense.
yah i got a vauxhall combo van, psa rabadged thing, done 50k miles not had a problem with the dpf, diesel system or ad blue... windscreen wiper died though..... would using an additive in the diesel or the performance diesel have an effect?
I deal with a Toyota Dealer they are absolutely useless by far the worst main agent I've ever experienced, Toyota UK are asleep to how useless the dealer network is.
Camera focus… if you have an iPhone you can use focus lock while looking at the screens on the diagnostic machine. Just press and hold on the screen until you get AE/AF Lock displayed and it will stop trying to auto focus on different things 👍🏼

Another main dealership failure. Good job you were able to save the day Jimmy!

Nice one Jimmy, just another example of how the main dealers fail to correctly diagnose faults. Again not using thier eyes. 👍👍🤣🤣
You can’t have any confidence in garages and dealerships when the give you wrong information about your vehicle and cannot fault find.

might be worth putting heat wrap around the exhaust, helps the exhaust heat up quicker...
Best dirty fingers channel on yt
Jimmy your a legend 👍
P0420 could be the B1S2 O2 sensor playing silly buggers, might be worth checking the live data to see what voltage it’s pushing out?

Be interesting to see the values in about 3000 miles time once its settled down and injected some more fluid
Thankyou for all this great info!…I have a VW T5…had many dpf probs. Looking for a replacement van. Would you recommend ANY make/model?!😅

The newer vehicles are getting
worse ! Just headache jobs
I've had the same issues with my citreon dispatch. I could do with you looking at mine but I'm based near Leeds
It's only 3 hours away!

My car, a vauxhall insignia 1.6 cdti, is doing this..every 20 to 45 miles its regenning!! It's also using oil?? Could that be fuel in the oil
I dont trust the dealerships they are on commission for every fault they find, and probably every fault they dont find
HI JIMMY WHY DONT MAIN DEALERS KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW THEY NEED YOUR EXPERTISE
Launch cleaning micture had you connected to second pipe, after DPF? Best regards

Late finish time for you jimmy
It looks like you are going to get busier than you already are
Jimmy it just goes to show dealerships can't always fix the problem and f ck you off and they send there techs on courses .
Ah, as soon as I read the title, I thought this van must have a PSA lump in it 😝
Just replaced egr valve on 2019 Toyota proace after 113000 km is that normal?
was it leaking

Wrong oil used is a huge factor , if it requires 0/30 , 5/30 won’t do

Yes I've just gotten the hang of it. Samsung
@ORileysAutos how do you lock samsung from trying to focus?
Peugeots with a toyota badge.. pretty much.
Correct
Dpf delete and map
That’s not good for these new vans they have endless problems.
