- What a great, simple and effective pedal for so little money. If you play high gain music and need to make sure your pauses are just that... pauses, not noise filled gaps, then get this thing, crank up the Threshold and off you go !!!
You can get it on Amazon, please use link!

Thanks to this demo :) I watched it again & again for me to be able to convince my self. finally I have my joyo noise gate it's only 2k peso price here in Philippines.
Thank you for making the demo. It would have been helpful in judging the worth of the pedal if you spent more time on single note threshold/decay characteristics of the pedal. Regards.
Hi, I got the Joyo noise gate....and a Weimeraner also...but no Peavey guitar , I got a Jackson.. but no camera woman :)
Are there any noise gates that do a quick "roll off" of the volume rather than a hard shut-off?
Wouldn't it have been an easier demo with a single-coil guitar that doesn't have noiseless pickups, with your hands off the guitar so you don't ground it? That's an instant sales demo for noise gates (or the Electro Harmonix Hum Debugger, however that unit won't help you with hiss since it's not a gate, but a hum eliminator).
LOL at the switching of camera focus to the dog!
roschler I hear the Boss NS2 is fairly good at that. I hear positive things about the ISP Decimator but have heard it's just a full shut off whereas the Boss rolls it out.
i had a usa built peavey geneation with a kahler, abd bartolini active pickups, mahogany body, maple cap.it was the first generation of that series.one of the best i ever owned.they still sell for 500dol used.i wish you had used single coils with the demo to see how well it reduces overdriven single coils sounds, modern amps dont have noise problemslike the old ones do
Thanks for your videos! I really enjoy them! keep up the great work and don't lose your humor....
Hi, it is re-branded by Harley Benton, which is the in House brand of the German music store THOMANN. Who ACTUALLY makes it, I don't know.
Dear EytschPi42
I did get the Joyo Noise Gate. Perhaps I have misunderstood the purpose of one.
Yes the noise from pedals has been substantially reduced when notes are not being played. So foolish of me to think that a Noise Gate would filter out that unwanted noise when notes are being played!!
I use it set at the 12 o'clock position and it is fine for me. Turned up all the way cuts the sound completely.
Thank you for your demos. I now have 4 Joyo pedals on my board and to this point in time very satisfied with all.
Cool.... yes, you misunderstood the purpose.... it is not a noise reduction, but a GATE, so it cuts the sound completely!
EytschPi42 Yes. Of course when the note played is allowed to escape so does the noise escape.
You wanted a "noise suppressor" not a gate.
Glad I'm here. Like your perspectives and "benchmarks". Well...and the accent...lol.
nice vid man...was jus reading up more on noise gate ... to further my knowledge and this helped... but one question... the song at the ending .. who is it??.. would like to get this song
Entertaining explanation and beautiful dog.
So would I be correct in saying the pedal is really great for metal and basically nothing else? Because in that case, I may get one.
Yes, you would be correct sir !
tune your guitar
I think he forgot to put it in drop d and it's just at an E
Single coils would've been better. And maybe a Big Muff and a compressor. I use an Opto Comp which is crazy responsive but when I use it to boost the Muff (which is noisy AF anyway) the noise gets insane. Would this Joyo pedal help me out?
Where did you get the money to buy all of that equipment? Amazing set up. I would be lost for years in there. lol
Dan Bires he is a grown up son, when you have a job this leads to acquiring things.did you think he was 8 years old?
Umm yea i thought he was 7 years old.
can you compare these with an artec noise gate they are both at same price
I have the Joyo JF-17 Extreme metal distortion pedal and it screams harmfully when I use it with an adapter.
Can you help me if this Noise Gate can solve this problem or not?
if we use this pedal with a delay
@@EytschPi42 Danke sehr! Und danke für all die Videos, ich lerne viel und lache viel, was ich brauche
Hi friend! I watched your videos about Joyo noise gate and gate of Khan, I don't know which one to choose, which is better? Thanks
Danzel, cannot answer you, check your RUclips settings..... the song is from me, it is called LIFE, the album isn't out yet, might never be....
EytschPi42 hi men! what you recommend me... boss noise suppressor, behringer noise reduction or this noise gate joyo for a low tunings (Drop C and A tuning) with boss metal core and metal muff harmorix pedal??
Is this working if you put a delay after this pedal, I mean, is the "noise" of the amp and guitar deleted but the effect of the delay still works?
Yes, that works.
Rather get something like a boss NS-2 or similar noise suppressor that has an effects loop. The noise gate then only affects your high gain section and leaves your delay/reverb etc. effects to do their thing (this being if you put these and/or other modulation effects in the side chain). Otherwise, if you put a noise gate in front of your effects, things like delay will be affected by the noise gate.
Good video! I was thinking of getting the mxr noise clamp, but this pedal seems to be somewhat of a clone and a lot less coin, think I will give it a try. Just wondering what power supply do you have on your desk? Is that also a joyo pedal power supply?
Nope, that is a Harnely Benton, but Joyo makes a range of power supplies... still waiting for mine from them...
nice work buddy and I wonder if it is compatible with any kind of basses
This.man is amazing...Im Canceling my Netflix subscription ...Entertainment this GREAT cant ever be surpassed
Cool guitar tone
Does any body know if joyo noise gate is as good as boss noise supressor?
Thanks for the revieuw man, but i still have one question, maybe a stupid question but okay:
Maybe i have read it wrong somewhere, but does it add delay?
Great video! there's something i didn't get well. Is it better to have it on the loop or in the front of the amp ??
Definitely in the loop, because the pre-amp is where the noise gets generated....
in that case, definitely at the end of the chain!
EytschPi42 I have just read this bit. I do have the NG at the end of my pedal board chain however I do have an effects loop thru which I run in order of
Joyo Analog Chorus, Boss DD-3 (delay),Hardwire Reverb and BBE Sonic Stomp.
You have suggested that the NG get placed in the effects loop.S o I trust, based on your explanation that this placement would be quite essential. Where in my effects loop pedal order do you suggest I place the NG ?
Pie IX at the end as he mentioned 5 times
trillriff-axegrinder Bravo you can count or it's a lucky guess.LOL
who says germans can't be funny?
It's really cringish kind of humor :@
kazanyemmi i do
kazanyemmi Me!
wil this pedal mute the buzzing from my guitar if i put it on the bridge pickup?
probably not... it will cut out EVERYTHING, not just the buzz....
Hi, Brother do you think is really necessary for tube screamer to play Classic Rock? thanks...
No, there are many other types of sounds that define classic rock, but s tube screamer is one of those pedals that belongs into every collection...
Who makes the power supply you were using?
it'll kill pretty heavy feedback from a distortion pedal you think?
it should get rid of the feedback, if not then you are using too much gain!
Ok cool. I'm definitely not using too much gain. Im on a crunch channel with the gain all the way down and a distortion pedal at half distortion sooo probably just the cheap pedals fault! Thanks
Where can I buy it?
does it change signal, when it's on? i had mooer gate and it boosted signal a bit.
Mt. Erebus† Not as far as I know !
I spy a Pearce G1 amp @ 3:50, I also own one of those, would you demo that sometime, clean and dirty and with a dirt box of some sort? Thanks...
Great video man big question for you my band is playing somewhat of a west coast tour and im in need of a noise gate/suppresor do you think if im playing metal with some solos this would be a good pedal to buy??
if you have noise issues, then yes!
Depends on where you live, but Amazon is usually a good bet !
Alter, du bist ja geil! ;) Echt lustiges und informatives Video. Danke dafür!
Hello EytschPi42, I love your videos man. About the Joyo JF-31 noise gate...
I do not play Metal, I mostly play Classic Rock and Blues. I play a lot of lead guitar.
I play a lot of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour is my guitar God.
My guitars are single coils, I just want to get rid of the buzz, hum or static noise.
Maybe also cut a little bit of noise when I use several pedals with high gain distortion. From what I saw in your video, I would go for a 50% or less on the threshold. Also I am on low/medium budget. Nice price tag on the JF-31.
Will the JF-31 do the job ? From what I saw and heard. I think it will, yes ?
You do a excellent job with your gear reviews videos.
the flickering comes from your camera adjusting to the light conditions in your room.
Thanks, I know, but the light conditions don't change, I think the sensor on that camera was faulty. I have a new one now, one model up... it doesn't do that anymore.
You have... SO MUCH STUFF
What band Intro songs it?
HI Henning,
wich is your favorite Noise silencer pedal...
Regards..
ISP Decimator
Many thanks Henning for you great help....
@@EytschPi42
do you mean this Henning ?: ISP Technologies Decimator Pedal V-II
Can you do a pickslide with the noise gate on?
Zsolt Elekes As long as the pickslide is loud enough. It removes everything that is below a certain level.
love to hear your thoughts on this vs. the newer joyo gate of Kahn pedal. and 1 or 2 channel noise suppression?
+Todd Novak I think the Gate of Kahn works a little bit smoother.
thanks man! love your show.
I nerd out on the word Decimate also.
So often misused to describe reducing TO one tenth instead of BY one tenth.
How does this compare to the ISP decimator?
MrTelecasterPignose apparently it's a decimator clone. I'm not to sure on the specs tho..
Noise Gate is nice, and only $41.25 on donnerdeal
nice video ! thanks for the info !
I've just received my Joyo Noise Gate... To be honest, my first feeling about this pedal is very bad. The potentiometer course is a crap. Only the maximum turning potentiometer is working. Before this position, there is no difference on sound.
That is correct... but I also say that very clearly in the video... and as long as it does the job at full balst it doesn't matter where the poti is... does it? If it gates it gates... it did a fine job for me... but as you said, only on full up....
Intro song?
The song is called LIFE from the fourth Frameshift album, no clue if this will ever be released.
I want a rabbi to buy me an awesome Peavey!
What's this track on 12:05?
The track is called LIFE and it is from the fourth Frameshift album, which isn't out yet, maybe it will never see the light of day.
EytschPi42 I didn't find that anyway =/. Could you send me the track?
EytschPi42 Very fn' cool intro and rythm riff!!!!
that's a nice German dungeon if i ever saw one..
This is very le informative
🤘
This guy reminds me of Robin Williams
Lol you guys are weird but I'm totally subscribing
haha, nice Thanks for the nice demo
Your wife is right.....kind of..
The entire basis for music is math. :-)
Nice vid. I am going to pick one up.
***** Have you studied the physics of music? The different frequencies of given notes and their relationship mathematically to other notes? The typical Major scale is based upon frequency differences that lead to patterns of relationships. It's like the golden ratio. We see the beauty in the flower, DaVinci saw the beauty in the construction. A surgeon can appreciate the workings of the heart and yet still experience love. There is no need to exclude one to sanctify the other. If you haven't yet, which you may have, I don't know, go check out the uses of counterpoint or symphonic styles. Music has it's own slice of the physical as well as the spiritual, and it is only through the physical that we are able to discern the spiritual.

Haha. Great review.

She could not tell the difference with or without the gate. What? Needed maths again what?
Funny video dude!
I could hear the difference on my iPhone 4s lol
