  • This is episode 1 of 3. Taking a look at the underside of the jon boat at the Wetlander Slick Bottom Coating with the boat turned over.
So I pulled the jon boat off the trailer, flipped it around, and then put it back on the trailer upside down.
This allowed me to easily inspect the bottom and see what needed to be repaired and touched up (and also allows you to apply the Wetlander coating a lot easier)
There were a few high wear spots with one weird problem spot that just wanted to keep chipping....

I have a hypothesis about were the roller sits. While your out fishing, the rubber gets hot and possibly sticky and slightly expands. You come in and load the boat. As your boat cools the roller, it slightly contracts and grips the coating. During the travel it slowly pecks away each time it is loaded and unloaded.
    Just a hypothesis

That could be possible. Where there are rollers touching the boat, its leaving a residue, and it probably is because of heating up in the sun and setting the boat on them while its still warm. The boat itself shouldn't be getting hot with having the floor and being covered when not in use. Maybe I just need to let those roller get some sun and dry out a little. I just adjusted my trailer a little better for the boat...hint hint next video haha

what is the color of the top part without the wetlander?

I'm confused by your question. The boat its self is olive green. The primer coat was also olive green and the topcoat was olive green. Part A already had the pigment in it and the Part B was a milky yellow
