None of that lip-syncing stuff for these guys! This was a REAL band and they would do these TV shows and play live , not always the case back then. Best American band of the sixties and one of the greatest drummers ever in Dino Danelli! Rest in peace Dino. You are missed and respected.
I saw them twice and they were better in person than on recordings or videos. Their personalities were genuinely nice and sincere. No superstars here, just wonderful and talented people. Rest in peace, Dino.
Brigati, Cornish, Danelli and Cavaliere are all still alive and have occasionally reunited. Almost all 60s groups have "replacement" members if they are still around at all.
I was so blessed to have grown up during the time this was a big hit. Seems like WABC in New York played this every ten minutes...and no one cared because it was so beautiful. THAT is a vivid recollection of that time in my life that seems as if it was just yesterday. I get teary-eyed recalling those days. The Rascals...unbelievable talent that created awesome moments that are now awesome memories. They were a REAL band!
Its really something that people our age, regardless of what we've attained in life, success, family, comfort, etc., would hesitate not one second to return to those days when it seemed like every one of the hundreds of songs on AM radio were truly amazing.
I lived pretty close to the lead singer, Felix Cavalieri, in Pelham, NY. there was lots of buzz as the Rascals were beginning their journey and hadn't released anything. And then, it all happened pretty fast." I Ain't Go'in to Eat Out My Heart Anymore" and "Good Lovin" transformed them and everyone near them. As a kid I wondered what it would have been like to swap places with Felix or Eddie Brigatti. In the end, I'm glad I never did. Life has many surprises and instant success can have more pitfalls than a life built one step at a time. I'm thankful to have earned things slowly, using passion, hard work and intelligence.
Thank U for this live performance! Luv Felix w/ his soulful vibes, Eddie's & Gene's back up harmonies, Gene's harmonica, & Dino on congas. Magnificent group & timeless song. RIP to the gr8est drummer, Dino Danelli. Twirl them sticks in heaven Dinoooo!
These guys were SO awesome! I'm old enough to know there were some bad things going on during this era, Vietnam War, Civil Rights struggles, but for a little while you felt as though the world was alright. Thanks Rascals!
Among other things, what a great vocal band. They were so strong they could be a four piece with the luxury of having one guy on tambourine and vocals.
This song was released when I was born. I am so very fortunate to be raised with this beautiful song. It's still one of favorite songs of all times. It's actually on my RUclips playlist.🤩🥰
AH!!! those were the days.when music was good and times were too everyone got along yeah it wasn't a perfect world but it was good much easier than today's world.RASCALS made it that much better with their music. with their later hits after groovin.were it's a beautiful morning . and people got to be free. were HITS thanks for the memories and UTUBE .rascals were the BEST OF THE 6OS
Just saw Felix & Gene, & the Rascals 2nite @ the Blue Note in Honolulu. FANTASTIC SHOW!!! Felix sounded absolutely gr8. So much energy & still got that soulful vibe going on. What a fabulous nite to hear that voice of his & all those hits. Groovy!
Great song !! Still to this day that Harmonica in the song just blows me away !! The way he plays it is exactly how a " Perfect" summer day feels like !! 🤘
My brother taught himself how to play the drums, guitar, harmonica and the flute, then he started teaching kids how to play them as well, he also had a beautiful tenor voice.
Wow and wonderful! This song still puts a shiver through my being-some 55 years after first hearing it! -it epitomises the promise of that era of music/life / awareness and loving energy!👌🙏🌼🕊💖
When I was a kid and heard Felix sing “that would be ecstasy, you an me endlessly”, I thought he was saying “you and me and Lesley”. I was wondering who Lesley was!
I was 5 years old .. I can still remember the music in the time . And on and on I grew up when music was the best to listen to .. but music now is quite definitely not the same
~~~ I'm a 60ish year old woman, THIS is my favorite song by The Young Rascals.
Such a better time in our 🌎 world. ❤
Hell yes !
Mine too.
60's & 70's were the BEST! Who's with me?
Amen !!
All the way man the 2020s suck big time.
You can really add the '50's too.
How fortunate we are, those of us who grew up in this era of music…
So fortunate I could not agree more..
And here I am just thankful to be able to listen
One of the greatest summer songs ever!!
I agree 100%!
No question about it
YES!!
Mon plus bel été ❤
Totally agree, I just close my eyes and the years fall away.
The screams coming from the young people in the audience let’s you know how cool it was and remains to this day!,
Blue eyed soul from New Jersey, fantastic musicians.
Jersey baby!! The best.
❤❤❤😊😊😊
Seldom if ever you will see 4 more multi talented singers/musicians/performers. Gene Cornish and Eddie Brigatti are both criminally underrated.
The quality of pop music in the 60s is unsurpassed
You know, you really had to be a kid growing up then to really appreciate how cool this song was.
Man, it's still really cool. Great voices, great musicians
How tru. Everything s rollin bi to fast. Hang on
@@teacup3133 it was a favorite of mine.
This song was played every Saturday on a very popular R&B station during my entire childhood back in the 70's and into young adulthood in the 80's.
That Blue-Eyed Soul sound always brings that peace to your heart!
Damn I want to go home back to my music my people my time maybe that's what heaven will be
YES!!! Just thinking of it makes me cry.
It is man you nailed it!
Just the way music was intended. These guys were terrific. The music of today just can't compete with the music of yesteryear.
None of that lip-syncing stuff for these guys! This was a REAL band and they would do these TV shows and play live , not always the case back then. Best American band of the sixties and one of the greatest drummers ever in Dino Danelli! Rest in peace Dino. You are missed and respected.
Great memories and music from a gone but GREAT ERA
Yessiree! Dino could work them drumsticks like no other! It was always a joy to see him in action! 🥁🎶🥁
I saw them twice and they were better in person than on recordings or videos. Their personalities were genuinely nice and sincere. No superstars here, just wonderful and talented people.
Rest in peace, Dino.
I noticed it as well...VERY rare to not have a band lip-synching on TV from this era.
No horns on stage. He may have been singing along to the recording,. Not convinced this was live
I watched this Live on Sullivan, watched his show every Sunday night. I was 15
.....1967 I WAS 7 YRS. OLD...I SURE REMEMBER THIS SONG I WAS GOING TO THE FIRST GRADE IN Tj (Mexico)!
Not one artist today has any type of talent like artists from any era before the millinnia
Rest in peace, Dino Danelli 🙏 😢
Tough song to do live but , man, they nail it. Great tune!
These guys in my opinion didn't get enough publicity. Great hits and where are these type of songs gone. Alot better than the crap of today. Luis
c'mon , they were all over the radio, RRHOF, Broadway show
Great live version of this song by the Young Rascals. I love the shadows of the girls dancing in the background. It's so 1967. Awesome!
It takes me down memory lane as a young kid riding my bicycle in Orlando.
Felix had such smooth vocals.
Wow! 56 years ago, a dynamite , organ powered performance, great vocals, standout drumming, the lyrics full of optimism. I heard on a transistor.
These guys were the real deal
The Rascals…first “band” I liked as a kid. Sullivan introduced a whole generation to music…
Great video! The Rascals are my all time favorite rock band. Still groovin’ with them after all these years ❤️❤️
Keep grooving Sunny
How my beloved beautiful mom loved the young rascals. ❤
Miss and love you my darling mom ❤️
Listening on a Sunday afternoon
Very underrated Gene Cornish leading the show from get go until Felix gets rolling. Magnificent.
Apparently, he came up with much of the melodies in the songwriting 🎵
The best music.. and I'm glad, that this was the time of my youth, my teen years.. sadly, today's music will never compare to that time.
The jam at house parties.
He's got some soul!
One of three #1 Pop hits (Billboard) the Rascals earned. Gene Cornish raised in my hometown of Rochester NY.
My hometown too. Regards from Chili NY!
Brigati, Cornish, Danelli and Cavaliere are all still alive and have occasionally reunited. Almost all 60s groups have "replacement" members if they are still around at all.
R.I.P. Dino Danelli. Passed away in December 2022.
Groovy. 😎 And I like the shadow dancers in the background.
The Rascals were one of the Ultimate Favorite Groups of the 60s. We will Neverget grlet a Group like them again. Love them..
Good times along with good music.✌️
Classic sixties songs and go-go girls!! Yeah, baby. Yeah!!
🎼 Life will be ecstasy! You and me endlessly, groovin . . . .
How sweet, that harmonica is magic ❤
For years I thought it was, "you and me and Leslie"! As if anyone would drive around with his girlfriend and a Leslie speaker in the back seat! SMH
Again thanks for another lost iconic memory of a time long gone. Here I sit "Groovin".
I lived pretty close to the lead singer, Felix Cavalieri, in Pelham, NY. there was lots of buzz as the Rascals were beginning their journey and hadn't released anything. And then, it all happened pretty fast." I Ain't Go'in to Eat Out My Heart Anymore" and "Good Lovin" transformed them and everyone near them. Great tune of that era, my favorite.
Wow! This goes way back. Great song.
This song epitomizes summer, I have thought this since the first time I heard it at age 6 way back when in the summer of 67
Thank U for this live performance! Luv Felix w/ his soulful vibes, Eddie's & Gene's back up harmonies, Gene's harmonica, & Dino on congas. Magnificent group & timeless song. RIP to the gr8est drummer, Dino Danelli. Twirl them sticks in heaven Dinoooo!
As a teenager in the late 60s. you can't imagtine how great it was to wake up to songs like this. What do kids hear when the wake up now?
There parents arguing🤣😂😂😂
These guys were SO awesome! I'm old enough to know there were some bad things going on during this era, Vietnam War, Civil Rights struggles, but for a little while you felt as though the world was alright. Thanks Rascals!
No auto-tune. Those were the days. I probably watched it in black & white.
A brilliant performance by The Young Rascals.
On that show they also played 'A Girl Like You'.
like the background music even more in this live performance then on the original album, amazing!
Among other things, what a great vocal band. They were so strong they could be a four piece with the luxury of having one guy on tambourine and vocals.
What a wonderful tune by a great band!
The Rascals were the best performances on the Ed Sullivan show, bar none
This song was released when I was born. I am so very fortunate to be raised with this beautiful song.
It's still one of favorite songs of all times.
It's actually on my RUclips playlist.🤩🥰
The Rascals Were Soulful 2 The Core. Thanks 4 This Upload.
Classic song! Marvelous performance! Thanks for the upload.
Great video. I love it and enjoyed.
Some VERY rare footage of a band performing "live" from that era and NOT lip synching to the recorded version. Excellent!
Felix was one of the greatest all-around performers in rock history & the 4 of them one of the top 10 groups of all-time.
I was 5 years old .. I can still remember the music in the time . And on and on I grew up when music was the best to listen to .. but music now is quite definitely not the same
OOOH MY JAM
They were the Grove in the Grove.
THE most underrated band of all time…
