    The first thing I did in the game after getting to my ship was go to the seed on Timber Hearth. Once I was told about the nature of Bramble Seeds I thought the game moght have been about trying to stop the seed from destroying TH. So I shot the scout in the seed and went straight to Bramble, where I learned that there was much more to explore in this solar system.
    Spoilers:
    Before the first supernova, I was sad at first that TH was going the way that DB original planet did, torn apart by the seed at some point in the future. Little did I know the fate that would befall TH and the rest of the planets, would be much more depressing.

    people always say that the dark bramble is the scariest spot in the game. but I disagree. I think that the interloper is the scariest because of how disturbing it is when you figure out the lore. When I finally figured out how to land on it I didn't even realize you could go in it. I figured there'd be stuff in the spikes like a chert log or something and that was it. but I fell into the interior on the rocky side and found the core. I always enjoyed seeing the interloper but every time I saw it after that was disturbing. it held the corpses of two nomai and thing that killed those nomai inside of it for so long without me realizing. it's disturbing on a level that anglerfish jumpscares will never reach.

  • @skollseye7068
    @skollseye7068 3 года назад +7

    The baby fish size in the museum does seem a bit strange, but I kinda figured that maybe the huge size of the anglers can be attributed to the special nature of Dark Bramble itself. Like, if they try to leave for extended periods of time, they can shrink and die.
    It's a really fascinating ecosystem concept. After all, Dark Bramble spreads all on its own to other planets, and those planets are included as part of Dark Bramble. So anything living in that ecosystem wouldn't ever need to leave - everything would just come to it.

    • @TheLoreExplorer
      @TheLoreExplorer  3 года назад +1

      It is definitely a fascinating concept. But we sort of know it to be untrue about the anglers. We can find a fully grown skeleton of an angler on ember twin. Also, we don't shrink or grow when we enter as some people suggest. We are at the same scale in the escape pods both in and out of bramble.

    It's interesting to note that the bramble seed that escape pod 3 came across when following the vessel's signal is still a seed for us, some 300,000 years later. That gives some indication of how slowly the brambles grow, and how long ago the first seed in this system must have landed on the ice planet.
    Given that in the owlks imagery of our system, the ice planet is not yet bramblefied, that also gives us a sense of just how long ago they arrived in our system.

    ... OHMYGOD! I just realized an implication about the Nomaï statues in the Sun Station:
    We know the Nomaï are a very eco-friendly species, that would try anything to preserve an ecosystem's balance. And the Sun Station's purpose went against all that, but was considered a necessary evil.
    WHAT IF the Sun Station's statues' purpose was to connect to Pye and Idaea once the probe had found the Eye (or if there was an issue with the Eye Finding Plan) so they would *not* fire into the sun, since they already got the coordinates (or there is an issue with the loop), both force-shutting down the Ash Twin Project by cutting the power supply *and* protecting the system and allowing it to live its intended lifetime.
    (I mean, it may cause a paradox, I guess? but to be entirely fair I don't think this universe's physics ruleset cares much about paradoxes except for impossible duplication)
    Edit: To be clear, I'm mostly connecting the "Do No Evil" philosophy of the Nomaï.

    • @TheLoreExplorer
      @TheLoreExplorer  2 года назад +2

      No paradox. Devs have stated the nomai plan wouldn’t create that. And yea. There were two statues in the sun station. And It was always the nomais plan to shut down the sun station after they received the eyes coordinates.

    I'm pretty sure the intended exploration pattern of Dark Bramble with respect to Feldspar is the opposite of what you described. If you follow the signalscope for Feldspar into Dark Bramble you will find him eventually after several trips inside seeds, and he'll tell you where his ship is and that you should explore the hollow vine near it if you want to learn how to get all the way to the core of Giant's Deep. The way you described exploring doesn't make sense with the dialog I got; did you have different dialog that was consistent with your exploration, or did you not pay attention?

      Mhmm. I found Feldspar the same way you did. So no. I didnt get different dialogue. But this way is giving players a path to Feldspar in which they dont need to encounter anglers and do all that extra nonsense. If I didnt present it as such it wouldnt be realized by all. Either way. Feldspar will still have all the dialogue choices available if you visit the jellyfish and follow the path. I forget if you can confront them about having ate a jellyfish.

      The Nomai vessel was able to fire 3 out of five of the escape pods it had. The nomai needed time to get there and board the escape pods. Then they needed some time for them to actually launch. If all the damage was done by the initial warp , like we see in the vision , it doesnt make much sense that 3 could fire. But then the vessel loses power and the last two couldnt. Especially since we know the escape pods themselves werent damaged. The ship just lost power.
      At the very least the vessel teleported directly into the space inhabited by brambles vines(not on top). And somehow the damage got worse over time. If we take into consideration the alpha , in which bramble was a big ball of actively moving vines. And the mural the nomai depict of bramble reaching out to grab an escape pod. We can start to make sense of why the damage may have gotten worse over time. But we just dont know for sure.

      @@TheLoreExplorer Well I can fathom more than a few reasons why the other pods didn't launch from simple mechanical failure ,to the branches being in the way making it impossible to launch or perhaps because the initial "crash" killed/injured more than a few of the nomai who wouldn't be wearing their suits during the crash thus being exposed to the vaccum of space(and we also know that in comparison to the Herthians the Nomai were rather fragile).
      As for the Murals, well most of the Nomai were startled and disoriented by the event, it's not uncommon to overstate depictions of traumatic events in order to make sense of them, the murals depiction might have been just that a hypothesis/overdramatization of what happened, and also a good deterant to stop younger Nomai from going back in the dangerous Dark bramble in search of the Vessel.
      (as a side note the Nomai also don't seem to have much info recored on Dark Bramble other than the info they have on Anglerfish and in my opinion that shows that they didn't delve much into the bramble out of fear history might repeat itself).
      And the Alpha well it's just the Alpha, in your own videos you've showcased how many story/lore points were removed (or contradicted current lore like hollow's lantern) hence no longer part of actual lore.
      Now I am not saying that my hypothesis is true beyond the shadow of a doubt,because well it's just that ,a hypothesis(only the devs could answer that...if they wanted), but I do believe it has some merit.

    • @TheLoreExplorer
      @TheLoreExplorer  Год назад

      But we can go look at it. The escape pods are in tact and nothing is blocking them. And its stated they didnt fire because the vessel lost power. This could simply be due to the fact that the warp rook up most of the power. We just dont know. And yes. The alpha is just that. But as a whole , it seems like bramble does move in some sense. The seed that fell on timber put down roots in an instant. Whether or not thats what caused this , we dont know. But , yes , the idea has merit.

      Sorry to bother you again,but I was watching someone elses playthrough(as one does when they've finished the game) and saw some info that kinda reafirms what I've said about the Vessel warping exactly on top of the vines instead of the vines attacking the Vessel.
      I am not trying to be correct, I just thought you might find this intresting as the lore explorer.
      In the Vessel, there is an attempt from a Nomai called Filix from Escall's Vessel to contact the other Clans for help and also comments on the situation
      Here is what it says word for word.
      FILIX: "Our Vessel appears to have... has it fused with the local enviroment, somehow? There are vines that are now part of the Vessel! It's been torn appart from the inside itself!".

    The size of the anglerfish depends on how deep their node of origin was. The deeper you go, the bigger the node gets. An anglerfish coming out the seed on Timber Heart would be the same size as the one in the museum.

    • @TheLoreExplorer
      @TheLoreExplorer  2 года назад +1

      This logic does sort of add up in regards to what its supposed to be. But we sort of know it to be untrue. The way in which we found that angler fish(at the museum) was after it had just exited the brambles main node(where the planet is). It somehow clung onto one of our astronauts landing legs and made its way to timber with their spaceship. Also embers angler skeleton seems to be in odds with this.

      We dont find any ghost matter in dark bramble. Its hard to know why but maybe the ice surrounding it and the fog inside nullified it.

      @SirButcher 2 года назад +1

      @@TheLoreExplorer We known ghost matter doesn't affect anything in water. The fog could actual fog - water droplets suspended in zero G. This would pretty much nullify all and every effect of the ghost matter.

    • @TheLoreExplorer
      @TheLoreExplorer  2 года назад +1

      Except we don’t know why water “nullifies” it. Logically the water would simply push out the gm gasses from the area. And prevent more from forming. In other words volume wise there is nowhere for the gm to go. Or it could be some chemical reaction that renders it safe. The answer would all depend on actually finding out what it is and how it works. Which we can’t lol.
