I'm helping you with cycling tech. 👩🏻🔧

We have the City pedals on our four main bikes and I've never been so happy with a bike accessory. They're among the main things I check on my kids' bikes every morning before school.
That’s awesome to hear!
how is your experience with slipperiness, especially in wet conditions? the city ones look less brutal on your clothes than the pro with their pins, but they also seem to be mostly made of shiny metal with not really much traction. have you ever missed or thought about a grip pad/tape on the flat middle surface?
Way cool never seen these before. Excellent idea
Great review!! I love mine!!
It’s a great idea for commuting, I use spd and flats so a single sided spd would suit me down to the ground, I am very Interested.
i just ordered these on prime day for 128 im excited to slap them on my ebike commuter
$140 is expensive but I love the idea of that extra moving light on the bike. Seems like a solid commuter option for people. Fantastic review as always! Keep up the great work! 👌
Yeh, I'm still torn on the price. The MTB ones seem like they are better built so I'm interested to see how they compete against the only $20 cheaper set.
Got mine! They're awesome, and good review. 😊
Awesome! What bike are you putting them on?
Love this idea and would get them, but I have a tern byb and would lose the ability to quickly remove the left pedal when folded.
Nice review...thank you
Thanks for watching!
if you have the time, please go into detail about the slipperiness issue with the city pedals vs. how much the pins on the pro eat up your shoes. as somebody riding all-year including rain, but not in slush/snow conditions, and not willing to put on specific "bike" shoes because I ride to get to places and want to wear my normal clothes when I get there, I'm wondering which version to get. also an important point for the coming full review!
What are your regular shoes?
If you dont want the ultra grip nature, I would put grip tape on the normal version
Great for night riding, safety. I can see the bugs landing on my feet already. =)
Looks amazing but I hate charging things. I will look in to it because I like gadgets!
Pretty cool. They should send me some to Clydesdale delivery duty test.
What about water/moisture, even mild amounts and getting to the USB area, over time?
How well are they made for mashing/powering down, heavier riders?
I've heard good things about the customer support. You may want to reach out and direct your questions to Redshift.
What is the weight difference between the 3 models?
Thanks god bless
these look great. they are expensive but so are a lot of other pedals. not to mention accidents will cost way more. i like the design since if a light breaks it can easily be replaced. i will put this on my "to buy" list once fall arrives
Why wait for a fall? ;-)
BTW the Redshift home page now has 10% discount offer in progress as I write this.
@@ilovephotography1254 i meant fall as in the season. in the summer im not really doing any riding at night. but when the sunset is earlier in the fall/winter i do
@@justinb7940 Please notice that I had left a smily face with the comment. The smily face is an indication humor. My humor was in the form of a pun.
BTW Fall is a proper noun. Therefore to avoid confusion, you may consider using an upper case letter to distinguish the difference between Fall and fall ;-). Please note another smily face...Be well.
@@ilovephotography1254 sorry for misunderstanding and thank you for clarifying
i am wondering if the removable pegs are same size as removable cleats on football and soccer shoes and track shoes. I know that they have different kinds of cleats for different surfaces and people cna screw in artificial turf cleats or rubber leats . If this is true.. then perhaps those pegs could be swapped out with somthing that is less damaging to shoes? Maybe somethng with rubber or a plastic material on them or a dull end instead of a spiked end?
They are much much smaller
How well do they shine in the daytime? I keep my headlight on all day for a little added safety. Are these visible during the day?
They are visible. I’ll make sure to have day time video for the full review
What are your thoughts on using them with a long john (UA family e.g)? The front light would be pretty useless or even distracting while shining against the box I reckon?
Hmm. It may make it glow even more! In theory you could just run one of the lights per pedal and then flip your pedal until its backwards, but that seems like a waste. Is your box shiny?
@@BikeShopGirl It's the standard black EPP box. Hmmm, maybe I'll give it a try. I'll have to calculate cost tho, shipping, VAT and customs to Europe might make them pretty expensive.
@@Alanis4life depending where in EU, they aren’t technically legal in Germany
Safety Im getting those for my E 🏍️✔️
Too bad they don't run on a generator like the GlowSpek Safety Pedals from 10+ years ago.
I ride a Class 3 e-bike in an Urban Jungle. It's dangerous. That's why I'm always on the search to enhance my safety. These pedals can be a real deal solution to make it easier for cars to notice a night time cyclist.
I've seen the first edition pedals before and my reaction was that better traction was needed to help me keep my feet on the pedals, when coming across a big bump or pothole at high speeds. This 2.0 version appears to have addressed that issue. To my knowledge, there is nothing else on the market like these pedals. They appear to be very well engineered with a lot of cool features.
Besides my quality and powerful aftermarket head and taillights on my bike, I have an impressive taillight built into my helmet. I'm all ready well seen at night. I know that I sound a bit wishy-washy, do I don't need more lights? These pedals are a bit on the pricey side, on the other hand can one put a price on personal safety?
good questions! I think if price is a concern, you could start with something more basic like wheel lights.
Personally I'm running helmet light, bikes on e-bike front and rear, and then something on the wheels or pedals to catch attention from the sides.
@@BikeShopGirl The leading reason why I'm leaning towards a purchase, is that the Arclight pedals provide a 360 degree perimeter of lights in motion.
Very cool but- very expensive! I would see these ripped off my bike very quickly…
they look like normal pedals :)
Way cool never seen these before. Excellent idea
