The 114mm Matte Box Adapter for the Helix system offers a significant convenience by eliminating the need to constantly screw and unscrew different adapters when switching between Helix filters and a PolarPro Matte Box. This streamlined process is a welcome improvement, reducing setup time and frustration. However, the adapter’s design could be further optimized. Currently, to detach the matte box equipped with the 114mm adapter, you must first release the matte box clamp, then remove the matte box to access the notches on the 114mm adapter. Only after this process can the filter base plate accept filters. While this adapter eliminates the hassle of screwing and unscrewing multiple rings, it still requires several steps to attach and detach components. A more efficient design would allow the release notches on the 114mm adapter to be accessible without having to remove the matte box. This change would greatly speed up the process of switching between the matte box and Helix filters, making the system more versatile and user-friendly.
Great video guys, so filters can’t be used on helix with the matte box adapter? The adapter is just to connect to matte boxes? It would be amazing if there was a way to use the helix filters on the camera with the matte box attached without needing to invest in other filters for the matte box! Excited to buy the new mist filter for maglock.
On the website it says filter only but shows a picture with the lens cap and rear cap does that come with is because thats the helix version youre paying for ?
So I currently have a UV filter on my sigma 24-70, would it be advisable to put the helix over it, and then the filter? Or just get rid of the UV filter and run the helix sorry newbie questions
Yes you just need to have this adapter on your system, for the Nano to mount to: www.polarpro.com/products/helix-base-plates?variant=114mmMatteBoxAdapter
I was excited to use this with the Canon RF 28-70 but sad it won't work very well under 40mm. Would you recommend getting it still for this lens? Or would it be money better spent to get it for my RF 50 f1.2?
@@PolarProFilters oh okay. So it is just the Helix Magsafe versions that don't work appropriately with the 28-70, but the threaded courser version will without the mm limitations?
Hello, I need help because I want to invest in a good Helix MagLock Gear filter system. My lenses range from 67mm for the Sony G 20mm and GM 35mm , 72mm for my G 20-40mm, 70-200mm macro , GM 50mm and 100mm STF, 77mm for my Sigma 85mm and 82mm for my 135mm and 95mm for the Sony 200-600mm. I need a polarizer + ND combination about 2-6 stops + a matte box. Can you provide a list of references to purchase on your site? THANKS
Disappointed and sad :( I was hoping we could run a matte box and USE the Helix Filters at the same time! Run and Gun people can't carry huge 4x5 filters. The matte box is great for sun and even better for protecting the lens from flare and bumps. The adapter and box should allow you to add the helix in front of the matte box. Even if it is slightly hard to spin. Its better then using 4x5 glass. Im hopeful that you will make a box that actually fits the helix and not just the base plate. I think a lot of people will be disappointed that you can't use the helix filters.
You can use a helix filter behind this mount, but you are going to be limited to 28mm of focal length and above. You would need a massive matte box to go over the helix filter and not get vignetting, and wouldn’t be run and gun at all
@@PolarProFilters so you could add a NDPL or the PL first (aka base plate , filter one, matte box, is this correct ?) Am I understanding that correctly? It would be nice to see that in action! Especially with the nano. That wasn't in the video! If that's the case WOOP WOOP YEAH 👍😄👍
Responding to your follow up: yah you can add 1 filter, the matte box adapter onto that filter and then clamp your matte box on. With that setup you can shoot down to 28mm without vignetting
Pls never discontinue these, I need to save up for it, lol. Loving that green.
Nice! Love to see the system expanding!
And more on the way 🙌
Finally, a system to use the Helix filters with a mattebox! Great!

Exceptional feedback, all written down

You can attach the 114mm plate onto your helix filter. It’s just going to vignette below 28mm focal lengths
@@PolarProFilters awesome thank you. Pre ordered on. Killer adapter, super excited for these products!
FINALLY !!!! my threaded everday filter is cool but i like the helix system better!
Yes sir!
There's the 95mm! Thank you 🙏
They are en route!

Right only the Helix version comes with a front and rear defender plate
So I currently have a UV filter on my sigma 24-70, would it be advisable to put the helix over it, and then the filter?

You wouldn’t really need a UV filter under your Helix system
Can I use the nano matte box with my Helix Filters?
Yes you just need to have this adapter on your system, for the Nano to mount to:

Went to the website and couldnt understand the difference.. between the 95mm and 95mm course Everyday Filter.... can someone clarify ?
Here is a video for ya: 95mm vs 95mm Coarse Threads

I run 95mmC threaded filters on my 28-70 and Helix on the rest of my lenses, not having 28-40mm on that lens would be tough
@@PolarProFilters oh okay. So it is just the Helix Magsafe versions that don't work appropriately with the 28-70, but the threaded courser version will without the mm limitations?
@@PolarProFilters Oh okay. So the Mckinnon VND/PL filters will work on the 28-70, but only with the threaded C versions?
Yes exactly
Does the recon will be update to use the new chroma VND ?
Yes we have that launching very soon!

You just need a base plate for each lens, whichever filters you want, the 114mm adapter, and a nano matte box
@@PolarProFilters Thank you 👍😉
School project 😂🫡
Haha glad someone caught that
Finally!

I"ve shot with the 200-600g for a few years. You do not want to use a front filter with this glass!
You dont want low quality ones in front of it, thats for sure
