One comment I'll add is that a base only uses its power so you can have Battery/Transformer outputing 100% of what your generating e.g. 135 kw/h to a building using 27 kw/h during the day and 31 kw/h at night the set up will still store the unneeded 100 odd kw/h automatically. You only need t worry about amounts if your splitting your feed amongst multiple loads. That is one load of 21/31 kw/h depending on day night just supply the whole generated amount, two loads of 21 and 31 then you need to ensure you have sufficient power for each.
This is going to be EVERYONE'S Go-to Guide!!! I couldn't figure out why the light was Red on the Workshop plug. After watching your guide I am guessing that it's because I don't yet have enough power going to it. And the Red light /Green light states are meant to indicate Not merely that it's powered but that it's getting enough power! Eureka!
Haha make sure you share it then! The Red light your talking about is a bit buggy for me that's why I didn't mention it, it's either on or off it has a mind of it own lol. You are correct though it should go green when it has enough power.
@@Fortizar Earlier, just looking at the map the Battery was Red and Workshop was Green! Now, the Battery is green and the Workshop is still Green but the plug light is still Red. Must be a bug...
Think its bugged .. mine stays red and i waste power i keep a large surplus so i don't need to run to the transformer battery's and readjust for little things i add lol
I wondered if it was possible to run a power line from the battery to the transformer. I thought about making multiple batteries with several connections but this saves a lot of pain. Thank you very much for doing this video!!
No problem mate, people are going to have they're own opinions on settings up but I think this is the best approach for new player or getting started in general.
Yes and you can do Solar > Transformer > Battery > Battery > Transformer or any combination back to more transformers. I play like NASA bc ups to Back ups... i like to keep 2 Dys of power saved cause i hate cleaning solar panels or a diester happens. By the second day the solar panel have cleaned themselves off enough from the wind to start saving power again... lol - plus i am gone form base a lot a week at a time less to worry about.
@2:54 no upgrade is 180 @3:10 early game 2nd transformer isnt needed as most dont have extra circuit board for another. First couple days of the game there are only enough boards for 1 transformer and 1 battery and 2nd transformer is only needed when powering more than just the workshop to split the stored power from the battery. Also you can set higher battery output if you want as whatever is connected will only draw out whats needed
You don't have to but it future proofs you, as you will have many small solar panels connected to the transformer. And you are powering more than one thing as I showed in the video your powering the well + even ATV if you have that.
The circuitboards are quite random. The first game I played I got 2 small ones from the first base and needed to search far and wide to get more. The second game on the same map, I got 4 small ones in the same base en 2 in each of the 2 bases next to it. So 8 in 2 days. The problems people encounter is not so much direct input and output, but expansion. How to get multiple wells to send water in the workshop. How to get multiple buildings supported from the battery... that kind of questions are on the forum now. And there is little info out there as everyone is trying to figure out how things work. This was quite informative and quite clear and welldone. The audience does have some braincells and can figure it out from here.

Still can't make the o2 extensions for rover.... so i been setting up gas stations every 5000km or so at water spots. How do you get rid of or destroy or recycle the seed magazines 5. Are the Decorations in the Printing Workshop (under decorations tab) able to be unlocked if so how, i got 2 unlocked.
4. place the seed magazine on the hotbar, walk to the wastebin in your workshop, put the mousepointer in the wastebin, select the seedmagazine, right mouse button. If you aimed right the seed container dropped into the wastebin and disappeared. The wastebin is located next to the water/energy management console along the centerpath in the workshop. Enjoy.
btw een alternative, given by a dev on the forum, was you can also destroy them in the crushers. No idea how or why, I'm not there yet, because I like taking my time on things.
I need more O2! I seem to be consuming all of the O2 with my tiny little base and there isn't enough to refill the O2 tanks in the rover. I've temporarily disconnected the oxygen from the base and connected it to the rover but it seems to be filling very slowly, so I need a faster way to produce oxygen, as well. Can you help with that? Is there another better or faster way to fill the rover O2 tanks?
I built a dedicated pump just for the rover so it didn't pull from other needed buildings, you can hook up more o2 pipes to other workshops and green houses if you need more o2 flow through your base. Just build more pumps and hook them up to the other buildings like I mentioned above, just make sure to upgrade all your pumps so they're producing o2.
Ok, I get the basics.. I didnt realize you could go transformer battery bank to transformer... Curious on the water. I just tremendous amounts the where the 3 large tank (for water were filled but are now empty. I would like to see a way to take many wells, and reduce the flow into manageable reserves so my domes /greenhouese never run out of water.
That was excellent again thanks. I have a right mess of cables and hoses outside my workshop and sometime I will rebuild it all following your excellent instructions! Another issue I have is the scrubber - I am terrified of it and haven’t built it yet! I saw the developers did a “how to” guide of about a minute, which contained six things to watch out for. SIX! In one minute! For one machine! And the video very “helpfully” showed the player being electrocuted! Far too many levers and wheels to turn and adjust. It mainly separates Co2 as far as I can tell so great for cleaning your base after a sandstorm but so far I just hope that my batteries have enough power until the solar panels are clean again. So a video on that would be great - or even a comment as to how useful a piece of machinery it is.
This seems to be a really big requested video now, I have a bog stream today playing VRising and it's my birthday 🎂 I'll look in to trying to get a video out tomorrow hopefully.
but if you put more solar panels, you connect them to the first transformer, and then you need to add more cables from the transformer to the battery? or just owith one cable you get all the energy from multiple solar panels?
Like recently started occupied mars. I have two buildings on my base and too well water wells going to it, The amount of water that I get income is 6. How do I get that raised up higher?
OK so I ran out of cable, well, actually the cables I had are on the ground and I can't figure out how to gather up what I dropped, but how and where can I make more cables and hoses?
@@Fortizar yes I know I can pick them up, but how do I take the cable I used and put it back in my inventory? I have all these unused cables all over I can't do anything with. All it allows me to do is pick up the plug, then drop it again lol.
how did you pick up the lines from the ground? my base is littered with electrisity cables becaus i cant get them back into my inventory if i dont need the conection anymore😂

The Water/Oxygen/Methane Lines do not have to be used for how they are colored. If you put your blue water line on the green o2 it will auto change to blue water, and you could have 2 water lines connected there if you wanted. Or two oxygen same with the pumps. So if you dont take your helmet off but need more water pressure for green house and domes u can connect 2 water lines so you do not build another workshop Should add pumps to your guide. I Got 3 Wells - 3 Sebat's (o2) - 2 Pumps. Water Lines to the back In-port on 1 pump and 3 o2 Lines on the other pump. Then on the front Out-Line I got 1 Water and 1 O2 going to the Workshop. All three Lines on back can be pushed out one hose ot you can add more hoses - When I added the greenhouse i did not add 02 i used both connects for the of two water lines from the water pump.
I have stopped putting oxygen lines into the base. given that you can simply grow plants for oxygen, it is cheaper/easier to let the mighty potato plants do their job and slowly fill your base with oxygen. never thought of putting two water connections to the same building, but I had wondered if it worked that way, because the pumps do the same.
