EP 3 Yamunotri Dham Yatra | Travel Guide , Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra

- We started our Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar. This is Day 3 of our Journey.
This is the first time we went to Yamunotri Dham, everything about this yatra is like memory of lifetime.
I am sure you will notice lot of it in the video. I have also share important information with regard to Yamuntori Dham.
For your quick reference i am sharing the summary of this information below.
Motor vehicle can go upto Janki Chatti.
You need to trek from Janki chatti to Yamuntori Dham - 5 km distance.
We did this journey walking up and down. it took us about 3 hours - going to Yamunotri Dham and about one and a half hour coming back.
Journey is very steep, if you are used to such trek you can easily walk down or else you may decide to take pony or Palki or Pithu- this is a open basket in which you will sit and that person will hold it on his back.
Rates: No fixed rates- its all about demand and supply.
May to mid june is the peak time: Palki can cost about 8 to 10k.
Pony can cost : Rs 3k.
Basket- About 4k.
If you undertake journey after this peak time, costs will go down by 20 to 30 percent.
Best time to travel: 15th August to 30th September.
Try to avoid May till 15th June period because there is lot of traffic jam during this period.
Yamunotri Dham opening and closing dates:
Opening: Akshaya Tritiya: like this year 2019 it was on 7th May.
Closing date: Bhai Dooj after Deepawali.
You may still check it out before you plan your travel because opening and closing dates are sometimes also dependent upon weather conditions.
If you want to stay back at Yamunotri Dham, there are many Ashram's out over there, but don't expect modern facilities, as these are mostly Ashrams.

I cannot believe the ridiculous arrangements the government has made at this location ... if any other place was visited by lakhs of people it would definitely be more organized. I'm sure the local area "management" will also not like things to change so that they can continue to charge exorbitant rates from the travelers. Humare yahan Goa mein bhi taxis ka kuch aisa hi hai ... the mafia which controls it doesn't want introduction of metered cabs. I can only give one message to such people, sitting and observing all this from my home, waqt rehte sudhar jao warna waqt tumhe barbaad kar dega!! Other than that you and your team have 'jaan par khel kar' made this video Sirji ... and all for us ... how lucky we are to get Kalindimata's darshan at the ugam. Very very nice. There are fraudsters using the name and bank account of the company PAWAN HANS LIMITED
with the account name “ PAWAN HANS LIMITED” in Bank of Baroda booking helicopter tickets for Char dham 2022..any of you using services be people contacted over internet be careful there is all possibility there are more than one group of fraudsters. The person I spoke to is from the industry form the area and - he is very well aware of the locations, the procedures, temple formalities etc etc.I have lost money and more than that the opportunity to visit - kindly spread this info to every one

हरीश जी इतने अच्छे तरिकेसे धार्मिक स्थल दिखाते है, तब एक सवाल मन मे आता है की ये यात्रा फूड के लिये है या ज्ञान के लिये? थोडा भगवद गीता, पुराण इन्को भी promote करेंगे, अगर गीता प्रेस की पुस्तको की एक झलक भी विडिओ मे दिखाके कहेंगे ये सब पढके या इन्को पढते हुए आप यात्रा किजीये तो यात्रा करनेका सही अर्थ आपको पता चलेगा.. बाकी अच्छा खाना भगवान की कृपा से मिलेगा.. प्राचीन ज्ञान लेके तीर्थ स्थल को ज्याना जरुरी है.

I have visited Jamunitri mandir on foot from hanuman chatti in 1994.We have to walk zigzagging roads, boulders here and there ,steep height,but have enjoyed journey, nature's beauty last 4km were really tough .Now a days journey is very good having guard rails provided for safety ,shelter here and there ,shops with sheds ,police post etc to help pilgrims.THANKS TO GOVT.
