  • CORRECTION: Toroid core is used FT240-43 (not 140-43)
My new home made Multiband End Fed Half Wave Antenna which has been designed mainly for 40M band (7MHz), but this antenna tunes also on 20M-15M-10M without any traps or additional coils. This antenna is made for 100W RF input power and is 19,129m long. SWR on 40M band is 1:1.1 within the phone section and less than 1:1.5 within a whole band. The 49:1 UNUN box is weather proof and all holes for components I drilled were sealed against the water. On the end of the video you can see also an extreme weather followed the next day :D
Please, if you like my video don't forget to subscribe to my channel and hit the bell button to not miss any of a new video or livestream 😉👍
Thank you for watching and 73!
    Paul.

the core you used looks like 240-43 so you probably wrote it wrong.

Ouh, thank you for correction! Yes you are right. It's FT240-43 toroid. I am going to write it to the video description. Thanks again ;)

I made the unun exactly like you, and i have the antenna with 110uH coil to get 80m on short garden. I have it 7-10m high and it works really good for the city enviroment. Good for local nets on 80m and 40m, and i hear entire europe. And it's also awesome portable antena, because it gives you all bands except 160m and 6m in the 40m long variant, and hear around the globe in a quiet forest environment.

Mine works on all bands between 6 - 80 meter and is extremely easy to build.

Paul, does the white mastic not effect the toroids SWR? I once potted a perfectly good balun I made with resin and it totally ruined the performance.

    • @OM0ET

No no this plastic doesn't contains carbon so it has no effect the the toroid.

Since this video is a year old and I'm late to the party.. Just wanted to toss my 2 cents in. I built an identical 9:1. In the very same weatherproof box. Tested before deploying antenna and balun. SWR all over the place a week later. That weatherproof box was full of water and ruined a good piece of coax on me. Enclosures are important do your homework cheap Amazon knock offs don't cut the mustard.

Hello, in the notes above you wrote “19,129m long”. I am trying to get an idea in my mind as to how it is possible to get that much wire. That seems to convert to almost 12 miles when putting it in the online calculator. Is it really that long?-
