Beginner Wakesurfer Sucess

- Most people I teach say, "I can't wakesurf." Pharyn had tried wakesurfing, but was never successful. She didn't think she could wakesurf, and was confident it wasn't going to happen. After walking her through the steps of how to get up on a wakesurf board, she felt more confident to try and learn how to wakesurf. She then got in the water, and practiced the process of wakesurfing behind the boat. She then tried to get up on the wakesurf board a couple times, but still wasn't following the step by step process on how to get up wakesurfing. She practiced some more on the back of the boat and in the water. Tried again to get up on the wakesurf board, but still wasn't successful. After many attempts and some different practice, she was able to get up on the wakesurf board. By the end of her turn she was wakesurfing without the rope. It was amazing to see her facial expressions when she got up and even more so when she let go of the rope while wakesurfing. It is so gratifying, seeing someone sure that they CAN'T do something and then their mind and body are change because they accomplish something new.

@@AshtonFN Cool! I think I've seen that boat out there before. Just a couple weeks ago during the week I saw an all blue Mastercraft. Not sure if it was an X24 though. Ya, it would be cool to say Hi sometime.
How long did it take her to get to there? Just wondering cus I want to get there at some point too
This took her one time out at the lake. From start to finish it was about 45 minutes to get her from knowing nothing to wakesurfing without the rope. It was very difficult for her to get up on the board. Once she got up it was pretty easy to get her to surf without the rope. Hope you get there!

Man why can’t I let go of the rope? Tried for the first time this past weekend and every time we tried to get in that sweet spot where the waves pulls you forward we would just loose speed and the boat would pull away…we were running anywhere from 9-11mph

There are a lot of variables with your first couple times wakesurfing.
From what you are telling me you didn’t have your body in the correct position. I have a video titled “how to wakesurf without the rope | 5 tips for beginners”
That will give you a really good base understanding of what to do.

I cannot get up for the life of me lol tried for liek 1 hour straight
Normally it’s because people are trying to “muscle” their way up. Once the board flips up on your feet you have to slide your butt to your heels and allow the boat to pull you up out of the water.
