When I did the windows HDR calibration, my HDR 400 (monitor setting) was around the value of 640 in the calibration app, and for HDR 1000 around 1020. These monitors get very bright.
Okay, I'll make a video for this since everyone is asking about it! You want to plug in the USB to your monitor and then your computer aka any USB slot. Then download the firmware and run it! If it doesn't work unplug the cable and re-plug it back in or re-download the update.
I prefer more saturated colors, I feel that HDR puts them very low in its range...I have the Asus pg34wcdm but I'm afraid I'll get the 32inch that you have, let's see how they look.
@drunkhusband6257 HDR is accurate, I use this monitor for my ps5 and Series X, windows app doesn't do well for HDR. I calibrated the menus in the ps5 and Series X, in the monitor, I use the Console HDR setting and don't use Dolby Vision since only four games support it. I don't have any issues and the console HDR setting in the monitor, tracks the EOTF gamma curve the most accurately.
@@wodensthrone5215 HDR is not accurate. There is no standard for it, and nothing is mastered in HDR. Just get your SDR settings right and disable hdr....simple.
I got that as well. Did you try unplugging it and trying again? It may already ne installed. Check the version in the settings. It was already installed on my monitor lol the first time I tried it then I didn't realize it successfully installed.
Windows calibration is pointless unless you plan on running your desktop in hdr , at all times which is not recommended. 99 percent of games over right windows calibration and you need to manually adjust per game basis .
The calibration is for auto HDR mode in games and videos. It is true that if a game has dedicated HDR mode it does overwrite, which is a good thing because this means that no matter your content after calibration you will be using the best possible hdr.
@ayceman21 restart your computer and re-download the firmware also try unplugging the USB cable and try again. Double check the firmware version on the monitor.
It's an absolute joke that gigabyte aorus fo32u2p has only had ONE firmware released and it's been two months since that firmware was released and yet there is still an HDR EDID issue that has been left unresolved, making it not possible to use NVIDIA HDR properly.
I have this screen. And before that I had the Samsung. Both are OLED. I feel that HDR pretty much destroys the colors of the screen. What do you think? And what settings are you using?
You should not buy a QDOLED if you plan to have so much light in your room. The blacks look grey in your images. Go for an IP panel or Matte Screen WOLED instead. Also console HDR with Boost is awful and you have blown out details. Stick to Game HDR which is better but not yet perfect.
@king_gt7996 that's not necessarily true. The light isn't aimed directly at it. They also put an anti -glare coat over these monitors to help with that. Blacks don't look Grey that's just the camera.
I’ve had these monitors. I thought Asus would fix the stuck pixel on the password field of the Ubisoft login but they never did. Gigabyte FO32U2P does not have stuck pixel. Back to HDR, if there is a difference, it must have been too minimal to appreciate. I think they focused on putting Dolby Vision than fixing all of the reported bugs. Asus is notorious for leaving some bugs unfixed. Just look at their previous releases.
Washed, raised and magenta blacks. Cartoonish oversaturated colors. These QD OLED monitors are trash. They cannot match and produce natural colors like the glossy woled panels.
You can just the colors man, I prefer a little bit of over saturated colors. I have owned many 4k monitors and this one definitely tops all of them. This monitor definitely looks better than any WOLED monitors I have seen in person but that's just my opinion
You clearly don’t know what your talking about lg makes , great displays also although for monitors there terrible out of the box if not professionally calibrated , and if you call w oled accurate when it it under saturates its colours when there a brightness due to white sub pixel accuracy lol .
