I have this exact same watch. Absolutely love it. I own four Citizen watches and have liked every one of them. I would put Citizen toe to toe with any of the high end brands. The Eco Drive being solar is great and the atomic function which keeps it in sync with the master atomic clocks (even with Daylight Savings) makes these a great choice. My oldest Citizen watch is fifteen years old and it is still going just fine without any issues. Haven't had to change the battery (capacitor) in any of the watches yet.
Yeah I wouldn’t put it toe-to-toe. I have the black ion plated version and, while I really like it, compared to higher end watches it feels noticeably cheaper. You get what you pay for.

I have the exact same one but the bezel is actually titanium colour as well. No paint on the bezel which I prefer. And no blue accents. Beautiful watch and surprisingly light.

Can you tell me how to resize the band? To remove a link, is it a matter of pushing out a pin in the direction of the arrow? Or do they use that sort of clip alternative to the pin?
@ skunkhammer. I agree completely that all too often in these video reviews of wristwatches, the maker of the video review constantly turns the watch every which way which is so annoying , instead of just holding the watch still in a position in which there is no glare reflecting off the watch dial. Turning the watch every angle over and over again makes the video basically unwatchable (no pun intended). Video reviewers of watches should learn to operate the watch in a steady position which would make the video review much more enjoyable to watch and listen to.
If you go back to where you bought it from they can get you an extra 4 links for free off citizen. How do I know this well I got extra links today all they do I phone them and say my customer is on the big size so need extra links ,hope this helps
During your review, I am watching the minute hand to see if it is synced to the second hand. It does not look like the hands are synced. In other words when the second hand is on 6, the minute hand should be half way between the minute markers and when the second hand is on the 12 the minute hand should be dead on the minute marker. It looks like the minute hand moves every 15 seconds. Is this so? And are the minute and second hands synced or are they not?
@ Tom Blosser. On many Citizen radio-control watches, the minute hand moves every 15 seconds (4 times per minute). So the second hand should be exactly half-way between the minute markers when the second hand is at the 6 o'clock marker or numeral.
I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, the abbreviation "Eco" in "Eco-Drive" is pronounced with a soft "e" as in the word "echo" or the word "ecology" not with a hard "e" as in the word "ecosystem".
i have the Citizen Skyhawk AT Eco-Drive not one video on how the inside of this watch works or looks ive found videos on rolex, bulova ,cartier u name it.. its weird why no info on how to open and replace or fix something your self..do you know why?

I still wonder what's a better pick for a sport/dive watch between this one and the automatic Seiko SKX007? This one is definitely lighter and has more modern look to it, just not sure about the legibility and overall craftsmanship between the two?
Nick K I personally see the Citizen as more of a sporty do-all watch vs a purpose-built watch like a dive watch. One big difference is the lack of a screw down crown. The Citizen is a simple push-pull, so less water resistance. I personally would be apprehensive bringing it to depth.
I have a few seikos and the one I like is the ssc019 which is solar powered and has a stop watch. However it's great as a dive watch as it has screw down crowns and is properly certified for diving. The Citizen watches are beautiful too and I cycle between them. 😋 I have an SKX009 too but I find that you are constantly having to wear it to keep it running. It's a bit like having a dog !! I've gone off automatics for now.

For this one it's done by pulling out the crown one click setting chrono moede, pulling out two clicks and then pressing upper and lower buttons at the same time. Then you go through steps to zero each hand and then the setup for date and time after. Better to watch it video than follow written steps though
This watch is available online at one well-known online seller for about $100 less than Amazon. The former offers their own in-house warranty, while Amazon offers the Citizen warranty. What is your opinion on each option?
I assume you may mean jomashop? I think with a watch like this with a good track record you are unlikely to face many issues so hopefully the warranty won't even be an issue. I've read that the third party warranties can be good, just make sure you look up the warranty company and exactly what is covered.
mrtodd3620 That's where I bought this watch from. No complaints from me, shipping was good and they accepted another watch return without issue. I haven't had to deal with the warranty so I can't comment on that.

Check out a video on You Tube called "Citizen Eco-Drive E660 setting instruction | TrendWatchLab". Note that the watch looks different but it has the same movement as the e660. This will walk you through it step by step. Press pause as you go and take your time. It's a little tricky. Be sure to reset the watch as per the instructions and get the alignment right when doing the reset by getting the small dial at 30 sec and the date between 31 and 1. If you don't get this right, the pointer that indicates the day will be off. I had to do it twice to get it right. Good Luck.
It's not Eco-Drive that's complicated. That's just solar power - nothing to adjust. I have an Eco-Drive that only has three hands (analog) to keep time. No pushers, Just a crown to set the time. The shiny parts of the bracelet are SS, so not all titanium. Not Perfex.
I just received mine today. I never saw this in a store before I received mine. Feels cheap to me. I'm wondering if mine is real. Just feels like that super cheap aluminum. Yes, it is light, but again, cheap feeling. I have to check this out in stores. Maybe I would've been better off with the stainless.
Han Solo I think both are very similar in average build etc, until you go up in price. Seiko has a wider range in quality, all the way to the Grand Seiko models that cost thousands of dollars. Seiko also owns other brands like Orient, and provides movements to many more. So to answer your question, I personally would say Seiko is "better" but it depends on what you're looking for in your watch and your price range. Both are decent brands in the $200ish range.
When it comes to this vs the Coutura, which is Seikos version of this watch. The citizen is better built with better water resistance. Also the Seiko is faceted I’m almost all aspects of the watch and is extremely reflective which can make it hard to read.
The other watch is the Orient Star Retrograde in black with metal band. Review coming soon. Creationwatches has the lowest price I've seen on the Retrograde, I've bought two from them so far (one for me, one as a gift) and both were authentic. I saw one in a second hand junk shop. Rose gold colour. Weighed about half a tonne. I thought you'd have to pay me to wear it. I'd rather wear a wall clock. I've got some Citizens and titanium, but this is just ugly and massive.
All those great features and its totally useless in the dark. Doesnt make sense. If it has virtually unlimited power, WHY didnt they illuminate somehow?

I've got the identical watch in titanium. I've had it for over 10 years. This watch is damn near indestructible. And it keeps perfect time.
I just got this exact watch and I am in love with it. A bit of a learning curve to set up but once you're done you' never have to touch it again.

CHI is for Chicago. It's a nice watch. I like Citizen a lot. I've gotten myself one this year (ref. AV0060-00A), I am very satisfied with it.

I have, on occcaion, replaced a Citizen power cell, although care is required. So I can, acccording to you, do the imporssible. Wow!

This has a E650 movement. There is a new E660 movement out now with DST / More time zones.

Pronunciation of ecology: American English, hard e, British English, soft e. I would assume the derivative brand name would follow suit.

I can't stand when the second hand is even the slightest bit off the number markings.
This is one of the best quartz movements I’ve seen for accuracy to the markers.
There is a calibration sequence you can do if the hands are off
