Still today I don't feel the need for another camera. It will rival any image as I just added Flash to manage its low ISO performance which is great till 1600. Thanks, Nikon. I have a studio at home, wildlife kit from Magmod and other diffusers and 3 Godox flash units. Manual and TTL. I found honesty in your video!
Thank you so much for your comment. And I’m glad your loving your camera. I’m finding this common theme that many people are really enjoying their P1000!!
Thanks for the info, I just bought my friend's P1000. It came with a really nice heavy duty Tripod, three batteries, and two filters...all for $900 cash...with a two year extended added into the mix! I just had to get it, as my other camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 wit a 60x optical zoom, and I really loved my Lumix...then I started using my friend's P1000, and since he wasn't really using it, we negotiated a price and now it is mine.

What an amazing video! Now I really want a P1000 for wildlife and nature. I don't want to spend thousands on a gigantic heavy lens for mye a7r so this seems perfect. Thanks
I am going on a trip to Alaska and instead of getting a 5lb telephoto lens, I've decided to get either the P1000 or Sony RX10 IV. I'm really torn and would love your opinion. I'll be taking photography of Wildlife but would only be able to use a tripod on the ship so being able to get sharp photos handheld is important. Also portrait quality. What do you think?
Hi there, if it were a choice between the 2 for a once in a lifetime trip, I'd choose the Sony because #1 it has the edge in picture quality..and #2 its much easier to carry around. Also low light as you can see is better on the Sony--Certainly, the zoom isn't as great as the P1000's but its really tough to get a sharp picture at the full end of the Nikon...--you also could consider the P950 if you must have a super long reach and with the 950, its way smaller and lighter than the P1000. But even with that, i would take the RX10Iv because it produces consistently beautiful pictures and I feel its not too heavy to lug around on a vacation. That's just my opinion. Hope it helps!
Nice video mate, i have it's 900 model, having 83X zoom, limited to 1080p video. I bought it for 350$ back in 2015 I guess. it's amazing day time camera.
Hmm it accept filters like Nd Filters etc. I am not sure. If the lens you are talking about can be threaded to the lens and is designed to be used with a camera like this possibly but the Nikon does have a macro feature so you may not need it !
The P1000 is one of the best cameras. It is a complete tool. The reason is simple, its extreme versatility. She's not the best at anything but she can do everything pretty well. I repeat everything. Do you want to photograph airplanes? Go ahead, do it. Do you want to photograph the moon/planets? Go ahead, do it (I have seen the Saturn's rings with it). Do you want to photograph birds? Go ahead, do it. Do you want to photograph distant fauna? Go ahead, do it. Do you want to photograph landscapes? Go ahead, do it. Do you want to photograph faces? Go ahead, do it. Do you want to photograph macro? Go ahead, do it. It is his specialty for me. Do you want to make video of everything above 4k? Go ahead, do it. And all this without the need to change objectives or machines.
@@techtoremember8096 I also really liked how you used a clip on mike for your remote recording. Would you mind telling me what brand you used, and what it records to? Thanks.
Hi. Sure- it’s an Olympus VP-10 recorder. I like it because it picks up clear sound and has a clip unlike most others. It records to internal memory so you have to sync up the sound later to the video !
Thanks again. I had to wait 4 months, but B&H finally got more P1000s in. I showed your video to a friend of mine, and he is getting one too. Nikon should pay you commission !
@@techtoremember8096 sadly, I suspect the P950 is the replacement. It does seem that a lot of customers preferred the lighter weight and smaller size of the P950, so Nikon decided to manufacture only one superzoom and chose to keep the higher seller. I hope you are correct that a 3000mm+ replacement is on the way, but I have my doubts. When a company intends to replace a camera model they normally don’t discontinue the old model until the new one is ready.
Hey, there. Actually sometimes they do discontinue a model earlier like Panasonic did with their FZ80 which was discontinued about a year ago and then recently updated. It IS just a rumor about a P1100 or P2000 (whatever they will call it) but this is such a unique camera and very popular with birders that I have a feeling they will replace it. Hopefully its not just wishful thinking!
@@techtoremember8096 I hope you are right about that. The only things that need updating are the stabilization at the long end, and improving the aperture at full tele. Apart from that it is close to the perfect camera.
Good afternoon. I enjoyed your review of the P1000. I am looking for a good video camera to video my grandson's football games. I have looked at the Nikon 7500 DLSR. The only thing I am really concerned about is whether or not the LCD screen is easy to use when outside in daylight. My current Canon VIXIA HF R80 is very difficult to use the screen to video outside, and it does not have an eyepiece viewer. Thanks for your review. It was very informative.
Thank you so much for your comment. Unfortunately despite all the technology today, most of these LCD screens outside really have limited use. But the viewfinder on the P 1000 truly is excellent and I recommend using that because you really can get much steadier shots especially at the longer zoom ranges. Again , thanks for weighing in!
Hi ! You could definitely use it for RUclips videos although for vlogging it’s a bit big and heavy but you can see the video quality is really good. Thanks for watching !!
Avete qualche consiglio o opzione per il mirino? Vorrei trovare un mirino da aggiungere con conchiglia gommata ma fino ad oggi non ho trovato nulla che si possa adattare
A fantastic engaging and professionally made video; I was already keen on the P1000 but now I’m pretty much sold on it but can you tell me if it’s possible to achieve a nice depth of field with zoomed in nature shots?
Thanks for such an informative video. Can you say something about your tripod mount? Was it stable at high magnifications? I had to go to an expensive video tripod, even then there is some difficulty with high magnification tracking.
I'm really interested in the scumbag capabilities of this camera. The other reviews don't really touch on this aspect. But you seem like the type of guy who would FULLY exploit it🤣. That alone deserves a sub!!
That’s a great question. The 950 has the same guts as the 1000 but is significantly lighter. If you don’t mind giving up the 3000mm zoom then the 950 should be fine. If you’re using it for astrophotography then the 1000 is you’re better bet. Thanks for the compliment on the video !
That was the best review. Great work sir. I wish the sensor was a bit larger. But I think I can live with it. Definitely buying one. A new sub for sure.
*You are at least using and demonstrating the P1000 in a reasonable manner - You're using it on a tripod ! For the life of me, I cannot understand why folks would think they could get great movies while zooming in and out @ 3,000 mm equivalent focal lengths hand held ? Frankly, much could be done to increase the overall steadines of shots by using a very substantial tripod, turning off active stabilization, and using a wavelength filter to reduce some of the heatwave distortion effects evident at extreme telephoto focal length shooting. Also, avoid using the (digital zoom) part of the zoom in feature, and keeping your zoom ins to the (optical) range of the lens.*
@@techtoremember8096 Ok: I received the ENEL20 AUSBC dummy battery made by Bescor, and the Belkin BoostCharge USB-C Power Bank 20K yesterday. Before I plug it in and connect it to my Nikon P1000, do I need any thing connected inbetween the two? Or can I just plug the cable into the battery pack and then insert the dummy battery into the camera and turn it on with no worries? Thanks for all your asistance.
Hi! Thanks for the comment and sub- I really can’t wait to get my hands on a P950 when it becomes available again because you have just about all the benefits of the p1000 without the size and weight- If you are doing very serious birding or astrophotography however you may still want the extra 1000 mm reach of the P 1000
The Sony a7R4 has a 61 megapixel full frame sensor. The P1000 has 16 megapixels. As far as I can see, you can crop an image taken with Sony's a7R4 to a quarter of the original image and then obtain the same resolution as with the P1000 = 16 megapixels, which in that case would mean that a correct comparison between an image taken with the P1000 and 3000mm and sony with 2X teleconverter and 600mm = 1200mm corresponds to an image of 4 x 1200= 4800mm if you use Sony and crop to the same 16 megapixel resolution. Am I right or wrong? On the other hand, if the largest aperture that the P1000 has in the 3000mm = 8 mode, Sony's zoom 200-600mm with teleconverter cannot measure up to this, since the Sony zoom is at aperture 6.3 at 600mm and with the 2x converter loses a step to aperture 11 ? I think it will be. How do other properties such as dynamic range and other important features of the P1000's tiny sensor compare to Sony's full frame, even if you only use a quarter of it when you crop the image ???
It would be an interesting test to see. The one issue would be the quality of the lens you are using. I know the math is a bit funky when you talk about cropping. But the subjective piece would be the sharpness of the lens and the focal length of the lens. By the way, you talking about apples and oranges in terms of price. A 7R4 with a high quality zoom lens will cost over 3x as much as the P1000 maybe 4x as much and would not be an "all in one" camera which many people are looking for. I still think that even with an A7R4 you would need a very long zoom to approximate the 3000mm look even after cropping in and this would be very heavy and a big expense for those that are considering the P1000 but its an interesting concept! Naturally the Sony will blow away the Dynamic Range, and low light of the Nikon and this goes without saying
My grandsons coach wants me to take still shots of their games, however, the first game day has rain scheduled for the game time. Should I use my P1000 in the rain?
Wow, i thought you were kidding about the 1000 subs, i haven't looked, but your production was really warm/inviting and organised, something that i expect from a big channels. 👌😉 Anyways, awesome video on a *tool* for proving the Earth is flat hahaha... I bet i just triggered bunch of people
I am confused between Canon M50 Mark2 and Nikon P1000. Sometimes want to buy Nikon P1000 because of its extraordinary zoom and sometimes for M50 Mark2 for its auto focus and better photography at low light than P1000. How does P1000 perform for portrait photography? And please suggest me a better camera from these two... And finally Thanks for this great video.
Hi ! Thanks for your comment. The Canon M50 Mark 2 is actually not a point and shoot, all in one camera like the Nikon is. For the Canon you need to buy separate lenses, etc. The Nikon's superzoom lens is built in. Of course, the Nikon has a much smaller sensor, so they are 2 very different animals. While the Nikon really isn't designed for portraits, you certainly can use it for that, and the results will be fine. There will be limited depth of field due to its smaller sensor, so if you're looking for that portrait look with a blurry background, you need to be zoomed in pretty tight to achieve that. It really depends what you want. Both are good cameras. Just very very different! I will have an upcoming video on the Nikon shooting portraits so please subscribe for that. Thank you
My little take on this Camera is, its not for super model shoots or bill board type blow ups, horses for course, but as an all rounder, long range spy work haha, catching those drug deals going down at a mile away, its biliant. for what its designed for it is just about unbeatable.
Thank you for doing this video. I definitely liked and subscribed. I wonder how good it is for simple bird watching. By the way you have a great place and location. Cheers.
Hello again Sir: I am wondering if you know of a good software program that will allow me to edit videos taken on my P1000? One that would allow me to save still shots from a video? Thanks for your help

@@techtoremember8096 or i hope they'll come up with another ipgraded version... maybe a P1100... haha
No underwater 😂
Very comrehensive reveiw❤
Comprehensive*
awesome how you put it together ✌
Thank you !
Great video show. I am sold and will be looking to buy this camera!
Awesome ! Just have to wait until it’s in stock. Thanks for watching
hope one day i can buy this camera
Great video ! Thanks. That pushed me over the edge. Will be buying a P1000 this weekend.
Thank you for your comment. I hope you can find one !!
@@techtoremember8096 Thanks again. And, you were right. I cannot find a P1000 anywhere in stock. I have one on backorder from Adarama.
Thanks again. I had to wait 4 months, but B&H finally got more P1000s in. I showed your video to a friend of mine, and he is getting one too. Nikon should pay you commission !
Great review. Such a pity Nikon discontinued this amazing camera.
Thanks very much But rumor is they will be replacing it Let’s hope !
Amazing Video. You are so good with your words points and views to connect with my mind. Wish you successfull journey ahead.
Thanks so much ! Really appreciate your comment
One of the best review. It helped me to select P1000. Subscribed the channel too
Thank you !! Welcome aboard
Hi - Love your video. Will this be a good camera for makig RUclips videos? Any suggestions please?
Hi! And thank you so much for your comment With the extreme zoom yes you can get good depth of field with distant subjects ! Definitely
Great, thankyou! Keep up the great work :)
You are such an amazing person!
Thank you Sir!
Thanks for such an informative video. Can you say something about your tripod mount? Was it stable at high magnifications? I had to go to an expensive video tripod, even then there is some difficulty with high magnification tracking.
There sure is. At the highest magnifications even a little wind can have an effect. The sturdier the tripod the better. Thanks for watching !
I'm really interested in the scumbag capabilities of this camera. The other reviews don't really touch on this aspect. But you seem like the type of guy who would FULLY exploit it🤣. That alone deserves a sub!!
Not sure if that’s a compliment or insult but I’ll try and think positive ! Thanks for the sub
Great review. Very entertaining and informative. I live a few minutes outside NYC and I want to buy a P1000.. who do you recommend?
Thank you ! I recommend B and H Photo but it’s been really hard to get anywhere !!
Hi, very nice video...which tripod you took for the camera?
Thank you. Actually was a very cheap tripod bought on Amazon !
Very enjoyable and informative vid. One of the better ones. Thanks.
Thank you !
The best review I've seen so far of this camera. Would you suggest purchasing the p1000 or the p950 . Thanks
Thank you ! Agreed on the small sensor but it’s a very well rounded camera all considered !Thanks for your comment -
14:50 This shot reminded me of the prank videos 😂. Great review👍
Haha. Thank you !
great videos, a lot of feature to show to us . i like this camera alot , and thanks for this great reviews ,
Thank You ! I appreciate your comments !
Great points ! By the way none of my footage was shot with digital zoom which is quite ridiculous to use on a camera with a 3000 mm optical zoom !
@@techtoremember8096 Agreed. :)
COOL REVEIW.
😁😁😁😁
Thank you !
best review on this camera!!! so funny!!!
Thank you !!
Great video. Is the camera 16 mega pixel or 8 mega pixel
Thank you ! It’s 16MP
I wonder if you have any tips or sources for a dummy battery use and where to get the correct set up? Thanks for any assistance.

@@techtoremember8096 Thank you very much Sir. You have always been a great resource and help in answering my questions.
It must be fun living with p1000 in Manhattan, you have a pretty good vantage point. The rent must be crazy tough.
Hi yes it is a lot of fun but yes rents keep going up it’s crazy !
@@techtoremember8096 Sorry for personal question, but did you move to NYC or have you been living there your whole life?
Yup pretty much my whole life have seen a lot of changes !
Thank you so much! Incredible thorough review
Glad you liked it ! Thanks for watching
Your video was very informative and entertaining 👏 Just subbed
I'm curious what your opinion is of the p950 over the p1000
Great review. Subscribed.
I’m so glad. Thank you !
Very well done!
Thank you!
You convinced me that I absolutely want this camera in spite of some of its drawbacks.
Awesome ! I hope you enjoy it
Hi, will this camera be good for bird photography? And will I get that bokeh effect on high zoom ranges while shooting birds?
For sure yes And yes you can get bokeh at high zoom
My grandsons coach wants me to take still shots of their games, however, the first game day has rain scheduled for the game time. Should I use my P1000 in the rain?
Unless you have the proper rain gear,I would definitely not
@@techtoremember8096 Thanks for the response. That is the way I was leaning, so I will let the coach know.
Wow, i thought you were kidding about the 1000 subs, i haven't looked, but your production was really warm/inviting and organised, something that i expect from a big channels. 👌😉
Anyways, awesome video on a *tool* for proving the Earth is flat hahaha... I bet i just triggered bunch of people
Haha. I like it. Thanks very much for your comment and insight !!
That's a cool review.... This cleared up most of my doubts about this camera.....I'm almost obliged to get this beast...
Hi there.! Thanks for your comment and I wish you luck with the camera should you decide to take the plunge
I agree with you about the sensor is to small for this camera . Only 16MP.
Must be at least 45MP
Thank you
Best camera
Nice video man.
Thanks ! Much appreciated. Stay tuned for P950 video comlng soon
My little take on this Camera is, its not for super model shoots or bill board type blow ups, horses for course, but as an all rounder, long range spy work haha, catching those drug deals going down at a mile away, its biliant. for what its designed for it is just about unbeatable.
Well said !!
Great video!
Thank you !
DO YOU HAVE ANY VIDEOS ON MACRO FOCUS WITH P1000 (NIKON)?
Sorry I do not. But it does macro very well !
Thank you for doing this video.
I definitely liked and subscribed.
I wonder how good it is for simple bird watching.
By the way you have a great place and location.
Cheers.
Thank you sir. I think it would be great for bird watching. I would suggest a tripod however !
so cool to watch this, nice video
Thank you Sir!
Hello again Sir: I am wondering if you know of a good software program that will allow me to edit videos taken on my P1000? One that would allow me to save still shots from a video? Thanks for your help
Hi. There are many programs. It depends if you use a Mac or PC but I’d look into iMovie (Mac) or Adobe premiere elements (pc). A google search will reveal many more as well
Thank you Sir. You are always very helpful. I appreciate your technical advice and assistance.
My pleasure ! Thank you for your support
Amazing review.
Thank you !!
Pls tell me, according to you, which camera is the best camera for optical zooming video shooting and optical zooming shots as far away as possible?
Well I have reviews on the Nikon and the Sony Rx10 mk 4. The Nikon is excellent and gives you a 3000mm reach. The Sony is a bit better picture with a 600mm zoom if you are looking for really far away get the Nikon !
Good info🙂
