Boglárka Тakács Imagibe a prequel story. Maybe some story about Sulla, or mabe Cicero’s infamous trial where he against all odds won against a corrupt system. Maybe the two conquests of Britain, then It could end with the battle Of Alysia
Its kinda weird looking at this, seeing as this show was made 10 years ago. I feel like if they had money for Game of Thrones, they should have had more money to make Rome. It was a spectacular show.
I just finished it (again) because I needed to be reminded of what good writing looks like. I was in a creative role for 17 years and had a few of those "wow wasn't that great" experiences that I long for again, so I know what the actors mean by "missing Rome."
As a big fan of Game of Thrones i can say that Rome was so much better show then GoT or any other show ever...Great casting, great acting, great story, great great SHOW!
what story do you want for Rome season 3,all the major crises were over, Octavian done such a fucking great job there were no major disturbances, the next stage of his life worth mentioning??? go to 'I,Claudius' for a version if the first few would have thought would have went to the actor who played him.
+The Raven As I see it those two were the best series made in their genre. I have no idea why, and I just cannot understand why they chose to cancel them. Another one that I really liked was "Wayward pines", but thats a different story.
Cladius, Nero, Year of Four Emperors, Britannia, Germania, split of the Empire, Constantine, Alaric, Atilla, Gaiseric to name but a few elements to play with :D
Rome was one of the best tv shows ever made and that I've seen on TV. Amazing production and actors. It would be so wonderful if they could bring it back or as a Movie. Bring back Vorenus and Pullo and of course Atia! Cheers to Rome!
I miss rome too....=( Seriously Rome was one of the best TV series ever or one of them. All I can say if there is a movie I will be first in line to buy a ticket.
It was a **brilliant** series! Great actors, great writing, great sets! I thought Ciaran Hinds was **outstanding** as Caesar! He just **oozed** authority and power - he had the X-factor about him, just as the real Caesar had!
James Purefoy looked so much like Marlon Brando in the Egyptian makeup. So handsome. I hated to see Lindsay Duncan, Ciaran Hinds and Tobias Menzies killed off. Spectacular performances. It reminded me of watching Shakespeare in Love, when the ensemble creates magic together. Vorenus lives!
One of the best films of all time! Factual ~ I researched all the info after watching it over and over, omg talk about being exact. Phenomenal show, best actors, writers, etc a shame they only last 2 yrs and yes I both the series lol. I watched it over 50 times lol Thank for this show!! Reunion perhaps ? lol
HBO had made the final decision to stop after season 2 right before the show got really really big really really fast. Such a shame - a HUGE market has arisen over the past 7-10 years for this kind of "revisiting of culture" in the Greek and Roman worlds. Thankfully, there is talk of a movie in the works that will be written by Bruno Heller. I hope it happens because they're going to bring Vorenus back in an alternate story line! LOVE Kevin McKidd! Perfection in casting for that character!
They could not afford more, too few of us loving it actually bought it. I might add that HBO's Rome is the most accurate historical propagation I have ever seen, we pro historian could learn a lot from that. History teaching in this century is TV-series like Rome and games like the RTW Mod Europa barbarorum.
With such a rich 1000 years worth of history, they could have milked Rome for like 998 more seasons... but no - they had to dump it in favor of crap like GOT. Talk about trading down, man...
Come on man. Game of thrones season 1-4 where superb, sure the later seasons have fallen a bit in story but dont hate on the whole thing, most of Game of thrones is really really good.
GOT is not crap at all. The only person who'd say that would be a dumbass who never watched it. GOT is great, but Rome was awesome though, they made a serious miscalculation in canceling it because it turned out to be successful.
I agree with that. However, I would have liked it if the events in season 2 had played out over a larger span of seasons. There was so much that happened off screen! Even time lapses of 10 years. I would have like to have seen Antony and Cleopatras realtionship begin, his final battle with Octavian before he was defeated and so on. But considering how fast it was cancelled they did a great job of giving it closure and a very satisfying ending.
Rome is just amazing, the production and quality of a big movie but better! Great actors, Lucious Vorenus would be a match for Maximus from Gladiator I reckon!
even though it is covered in 'I,claudius' my choice would be 6 hbo hour episodes on Caligula. Talk about unhinged, the only problem he doesn't have a single redeeming feature to have s personality, but then neither did Patrick Bateman.
@Power50505 more viewers do not correlate with better quality. Spartacus was all stylised á la 300, the sets were mostly CGI, the characters weren't believable, it's main appeal was the sex & violence which got old really fast IMHO.
DROP IT! Soap? Price? This belongs to you sir. Who's Soap? Come on we gotta get out of here move move! Bravo 6 they've started the bombing early get the hell out there now!
@Joakinsmat Well more like its 10th and final season lol, but I get your point it is real shame this great series ended so quickly when there was so many good sotrylines left! I mean season 2 had so much elapsed time in between the last episodes!
@zerker12568901 and Doperwtje81-Don't get me wrong, Rome was a good show better than Game of Thrones,Camelot, and the rest of the shit out these days ( except Borgias-also cool). However, Spartacus has the complete package including character development, politics, interesting storyline, and yes sex & violence. To evaluate a show, one must take into account all aspects that make it great and i cant point out any flaws with Spartacus. The same cant be said about Rome-could of been better.
@fappercino Whaaaaaaaaattttt!!! And thats why Spartacus had more viewers than Rome. Spartacus keeps the viewer interested with EVERY single episode unlike most shows. I actually liked Rome but it was lacking in the raw intensity department. Very little to no blood and the battles were short and lackluster. I even remember in one episode they skipped a major battle with only a few scenes, Now whats a series about Rome without the glorious battles and violent gladiator fights.
Bring Rome back ffs ! Best series ever !
HGS too bad all of my favourites have died, but still,a nice ending would be great
Boglárka Тakács Imagibe a prequel story. Maybe some story about Sulla, or mabe Cicero’s infamous trial where he against all odds won against a corrupt system. Maybe the two conquests of Britain, then It could end with the battle Of Alysia
Darkavenger_13 sounds great!I would watch it for sure
there won't be any better show/movie than this about rome...
Executives of HBO, I call for justice!
NO PROSTITUTES, ACTORS OR UNCLEANED TRADESMEN MAY ATTEND
Atia of the Julii I call for justice.
This is such an amazing comment
Haha! Don't forget the hand gestures!
@@mikedi7850 that was so annoying hearing every time lmao
True Roman bread for true Romans
Nobody can bring back 2007. RIP Ray. Thirteen!
Its kinda weird looking at this, seeing as this show was made 10 years ago. I feel like if they had money for Game of Thrones, they should have had more money to make Rome. It was a spectacular show.
Yeah they did, the problem was is that it cost 9-12 million per Rome episode to 6 million for Game of Thrones
+Ollie O'Brien Yeah, CGI technology got more widespread and cheaper since then.
Way ahead of it's time! I'm rewatching it again and it still holds up and to be honest has a much more satisfying ending than GOT.
Then you neither know regular viewers nor the movie industry
I just finished it (again) because I needed to be reminded of what good writing looks like. I was in a creative role for 17 years and had a few of those "wow wasn't that great" experiences that I long for again, so I know what the actors mean by "missing Rome."
The costumes are historically accurate... the city is historically accurate. These people are so fucking underrated. SO bloody underrated.
Best casting ever !!!
Amazing series
As a big fan of Game of Thrones i can say that Rome was so much better show then GoT or any other show ever...Great casting, great acting, great story, great great SHOW!
No man is beyond redemption...not even you Vorenus.
I'm still pissed that this show got canceled. If I ever see Kevin mckidd, I will yell the biggest thirteen that the world may hear.
14 YEARS. DAMNNN SON.
FOR THE TITUS PULLO. RISE YOUR SWORD SOLDIER...
Deadwood and Rome were the two best tv shows I have ever seen. I miss them both.
Absolutely, couldn’t get enough of either one!
THIRRTEENN !
She is so Olivia Wilde
HAHAHA Mark Antony in a business suit xD
Atia looks like an older version of Margot Robbie
Yep

Polly Walker looks absolutely stunning here.
It's really silly to cancel a big show like Rome and The Borgias, damn you HBO and Showtime
***** I'm a super fan of The Tudors
what story do you want for Rome season 3,all the major crises were over, Octavian done such a fucking great job there were no major disturbances, the next stage of his life worth mentioning??? go to 'I,Claudius' for a version if the first few would have thought would have went to the actor who played him.
Octavian Caesar Hibernicus
Show Christ growing up. Of course Lucius and Titus would be old farts by then!
+The Raven
As I see it those two were the best series made in their genre. I have no idea why, and I just cannot understand why they chose to cancel them.

i wish they could have done 10 season and finish with nero
Rome was much better than Game of Thrones.... Bring it back for Season 3 and beyond.
That was such a good series, I still remember feeling bad when they cancelled it and sped up the second season to like five years an episode.
Rome was one of the best tv shows ever made and that I've seen on TV. Amazing production and actors. It would be so wonderful if they could bring it back or as a Movie. Bring back Vorenus and Pullo and of course Atia! Cheers to Rome!

Seriously Rome was one of the best TV series ever or one of them. All I can say if there is a movie I will be first in line to buy a ticket.
Kevin McKidd/ Vorenus is freaking HOT. And an amazing actor..
Polly Walker and James Purefoy are fantastic as well!!
Timeless series, too well done. Some things are too good for us!
It was a **brilliant** series! Great actors, great writing, great sets!
I thought Ciaran Hinds was **outstanding** as Caesar! He just **oozed** authority and power - he had the X-factor about him, just as the real Caesar had!
This is excellent! I sure do miss Rome! Thanks loads for posting it!
game of thrones was only possible because they attempted Rome first... plebs need to know about this show...
Wow what an experience. Can say the same for visiting the Eternal City, she is truly wonderful!
Look at James Purefoy's wife, she's just behind him, What a lucky girl!
Thanks for the post, loved Rome so much!!!

Great one..I remember
I love this series the best ever
Such a shame it was cut short.

wow look at Atia uufff she's gorgeous
So good
I LOVE Kevin McKidd. And as a Italian I appreciate the fact that he says he likes the Italians and their culture. TI AMO KEVIN!
wonderful series just finished watching it on dvd loved it ...James Purefoy woooofff...lol
kind of shocked to see kevin mckidd speaking the way he did in this clip. so different from lucius vorenus. what an actor!!

Wonderful to get to see this! Thank you SO MUCH for posting! :)
This is a great interview! I am just watching this now. Great series.
PLEASE BRING ROME BACK. Same characters! They were all tremendous! It's what GoT WISHES it could be.
They could not afford more, too few of us loving it actually bought it.
I might add that HBO's Rome is the most accurate historical propagation I have ever seen, we pro historian could learn a lot from that. History teaching in this century is TV-series like Rome and games like the RTW Mod Europa barbarorum.
Watch Domina then
I got really excited when the Vorenus actor said there were rumors of a movie...then I saw this video was 12 years ago and I'm super late and sad 😥
HBO - Bring it back you fools! much more realistic than GOT, and ppl have been watching it over and over since
HBO come on. A fantastic series,

Ave Pullo!!!!
Simply awsome
"Atia" would be a perfect actress to play a nurse Ratched in some new version of that movie.
I think the name is Mark Antony not Marc Anthony the singer.
Such a shame there are no interviews of Max Pirkis about Rome. He played Octavian during the first season and he did a great job!
Fr though. I hated it when they replaced him
I agree with that. However, I would have liked it if the events in season 2 had played out over a larger span of seasons. There was so much that happened off screen! Even time lapses of 10 years. Reassemble this fantastic cast to remake I, Claudius! Polly Walker was born to play Empress Livia!
I think two seasons was the perfect length. “Rome” was absolutely fantastic, and it might not have been if the show kept going.
So amazing
Polly,Octavian wasn't a monster. He do what he had to do to bring a lasting peace.(with him in charge of course) :-)
he was a genius, one of the greatest leaders of all time, she got it so wrong.
I wish Rome came back. I thought they were going go through the history all the way up till the birth of christ.

even though it is covered in 'I,claudius' my choice would be 6 hbo hour episodes on Caligula. Talk about unhinged, the only problem he doesn't have a single redeeming feature to have s personality, but then neither did Patrick Bateman.
then you should see Vorenus (aka McKidd) in Trainspotting!
We got 8 seasons of a fantasy show, yet couldn't even get 3 seasons of historical fiction? Blasphemy I say!
ATIA :3
Amazing cast but James Purefoy is just the best on-screen Mark Anthony including Richard Burton.
Numidia were not significantly represented in HBO's Rome despite this region of North Africa were important for the Roman empire.
Whoa the actor for Atia was blonde. never saw that coming.
@Power50505
